  1. Hi Jared,

First of, welcome to the forum! I used to live in the NTX area, so am familiar with the folks down there. Excited to have you here with us.

Lots to unpack here, let's do this one by one.

    Color - feldgrau? Grey? Olive?

What you are seeing is the effect of the "feldgrau" or "field grey" color. Lots of posts on the forum about this subject on the forum, but basically it comes down to is that the fabric can have a range of shades, color-grading, and will appear differently under different lighting (it's a craziest fabric). @kman laid it out nicely in this post here, so I won't repeat it. Take a read here: https://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/14995-line-officer-color-question/#comment-186621.

This is the same color that we see on Veer, both in and out of armor. Most of the officers you see in the Original Trilogy films that look like they might be wearing grey/olive fall under this category. The only officer that has been identified in true GREY in OT is this background officer here from ANH: https://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/9725-imperial-army-operations-officer/

    CRLs:

We shouldn't need to be creating new CRLs as the officers you have pointed out have been addressed here in several CRLs, depending on who you wanted to apply with:

I suspect, based on your descriptions and references, you are looking to apply to either one of the first two CRLs.

By the way: @kman has this awesome list here of ... every officer in the OT and their uniform configurations: https://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/15109-all-ot-officers-full-costume-configuration/

So, where do we go from here?

Honestly, without seeing the costume in person, I'd say what you have might fall within the range of olive grey acceptable for basic clearance. That's going to be up to your GML to decide whether to clear it or not following the CRL descriptions in the links above. There are a few other things you'd need to update if your goal is to go for 501st clearance, such as the already-pointed out hat stitching, removing the DH-17 from submission (it's not an accessory listed in the CRLs), etc. Again, your GML is the person who makes the approval decision, but hopefully the information here is helpful in your discussion w/ the GMLs. If your GML continues to have questions, they can always reach out to the 501st costuming advice forum (which I know they have leveraged in the past).

Just starting a Imperial Security Officer uniform.

As I understand things MazCave is a well respected source for quality work. The shop seems to be back after a long hiatus. Advice on how to beat proceed would be much appreciated!

How to proceed with MazCave? I believe he has instructions on his Etsy shop. If you have questions, shoot him a message!

  3. Also, especially for the green tunics, would not recommend mix and match vendors - this is a tricky color and once you start mixing and matching tunic/jodhpur, color might be off!

It's going to come down to fit as well - some people need to take the items from the tailor to get fitted better, some don't. Consider working with your GML once the items come in and see what they think!

Hello everyone, I want to register in the Legion the character of Partagaz, but, I can not find the CRL, anyone knows how I can register in 501st Legion?

There is no separate Partagaz CRL at the moment. You would apply with the ISB CRL.

  5. Thank you for sharing!

A few things you might want to check with your GML to see if they would have objections:

    • Rank bar: You should see if the 3d printed base passes the CRL requirement of "metal looking bar"
    • Code Cylinders: The code cylinders don't look quite right - those look to be pen clips?
    • Belt: The snap on the belt - check if the distance satisfies the 1" from the buckle. Also, is the buckle metal? Or metal looking enough?

Looking forward to seeing your modified tunic!

  6. Excellent! Always glad to hear someone referring people our way :-D

Off the top of my head, some crew suppliers I have personally purchased from in the past:

    - MonCal: https://www.etsy.com/listing/826501197/star-wars-black-flight-suit-jumpsuit

    - WampaWear: https://wampawear.com/product-category/flightsuits/

    - KeepTrooping (formerly ImperialBoots): https://keeptrooping.com/product/imperial-jumpsuit-black/

    - Cossky (formerly CosplaySky): looks like they're out of stock here

I'm sure others will jump in with other recommendations as well.

I like this costume as a '501st starter costume' because it's a two for one - with the right accessories, you can get approved with two costumes at the same time! It's mostly the same as a "reserve pilot": https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TI_reserve_pilot

Re: accessories, I believe KeepTrooping and WampaWear also sells the black officer hat, belt, and gloves (maybe? not so sure about the gloves). KeepTrooping also sells the boots. For other jack boots providers, check out the resource guide here (the jack boots section was recently updated with member recommendations:

Have you been in touch with the Golden Gate's GML yet? Costume approvals are performed locally (we don't do the approval here), so the final "go-ahead" will be your local Garrison Membership Liaison. Ricky is great - you should reach out to him as well and he might have some advice for you. He's also going to be great for you as you are building out your TK: https://www.501st.com/members/garrisonroster.php?garrisonId=18

Hi, I'm Emma "Deinonychus" Nelson, in Staunton, Virginia, requesting help with the Dedra Meero uniform. I have a uniform already but it has some flaws and I need advice on the feasibility of fixing it and/or just ordering pieces from better sellers.

Emma - welcome! Recommend you starting a WIP thread so people can jump in with suggestions :)
