I bought a SDS Navy Trooper Helmet from a fellow 501st member here. What the seller didn't mention in his discription was the outer scoop is cracked in so many places it can not be worn. There are at least 8 cracks running the entire length down the scoop. My question is... Is there a way to reinforce the cracks & repaint? Or should I find a replacemnet piece of plastic & change out the scoop? The second option would be best. But does anyone have a large piece of black plastic I can buy? It must be pliable enough to make the curve of the helmet. This is such a beautiful helmet in size & shape. I wanted to wear it to C5.
take it off and lay it out flat to get the size and get a piece of plastic to replace it at the plastic store, yiou want double glossy ABS .080 or better

Re: Need help with repair
I bought a super shinny gloss black trash can yesterday. I'll do as you say BW, I mean Dewka. If this doesn't work, Scootch has a piece of black plastic that he makes his TX kits out of for me. I may be able to salvage this thing yet. But it wont be an SDS orignal anymore. It will be a modified "Chunk Project" original
