Forum Rules
  1. No profanity. Please keep it G/PG rated. While younger folks normally don't read this forum, they might be reading over parents' shoulders. Also G/PG language helps to keep tempers cool. This includes using special characters to get around censor filters.

  2. No flaming. If you really feel you must argue, KEEP OR TAKE IT OFF-LINE. This includes no trolling/baiting (i.e. posting in such a manner as to intentionally provoke a negative response).

  3. The contents of personal mail are personal. If the original sender did not post to this forum, DO NOT post copies or replies to this forum. If it warrants, privately inform your Detachment chain of command.

  4. If you don't like getting lots of e-mails, limit your notifications, digests, and subscriptions through your Preferences link.

  5. Please try to keep posts as "on topic" as possible (i.e. related to Imperial Officer Corps events, activities, costumes, etc.). When posting a new topic or a response to a topic, please pause and think. Remember that your post will be visible to all the members of this group and may not necessarily contribute to a particular thread.

  6. Sales of merchandise. Please keep all "non-501st" sales/trades posts limited to any "For Sale/For Trade" forum and any specific rules listed there. Official and approved 501st merchandise should ONLY be offered to 501st members through the "Legion Merchandise Forum" of the 501st forums and your local Garrison forums in non-public areas. Official merchandise is to be sold at cost. Exceptions to this might include a fundraiser where any profit would go to charity or to fund additional 501st merchandise as gifts or giveaways. Appropriate sales include official 501st merchandise that bears the 501st name or logo (including Garrisons, Squads, and other 501st units) and that have been approved by the Legion Merchandise Officer. If you are not sure if your merchandise qualifies as "official", ask the Legion Merchandise Officer (see 501st.com to find out who currently serves in this position). If you want to coordinate a run of IOC-specific merchandise, please discuss the project with the Detachment Leader.

  7. NO discussion of politics or religion.

  8. Controversial topics that need resolution at the Detachment Command or Legion Council level should not attempt resolution in general discussion areas. Posts that bring attention to these issues are permitted, but Moderators reserve the right to lock topics that are out of control and no longer productive due to excessive opinionated or repetitive posts.

  9. It is the policy of the 501st Legion and of the Imperial Officer Corps that no unlicensed vendor be named nor is their information to be provided on these forums.

  10. Do not post links to eBay auctions that are not your own, except in the "Found on eBay" forum. Only then, please post auctions if you are asking about its acceptability. Promoting sales will not be permitted and that will be in the sole judgment of forum moderators.

  11. Do not post "WTB" threads for complete costumes. This is becoming a common enough question. Members occasionally post if they have extras they have made to sell, but given the nature of the costumes, costume runs are not frequent enough to warrant notice.

  12. It is not the official responsibility of IOC or 501st to manage vendors or sellers. All sales and purchases are at buyers' risk. This includes business transactions between 501st members.

  13. Please title your threads with the actual subject of your post. "Question" is not a subject.

  14. Please review these rules periodically as they may change with or without notice.

We must be mindful that LFL has been gracious enough to allow us use of their copyrights in an all-voluntary fashion and if we endorse any unlicensed vendors, we are acting in a way that could endanger these good graces. So please, be considerate of this when posting.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION: To be fair, violators of any of these guidelines will be given 2 warnings and their offending posts may be edited or deleted. The 3rd violation will result in restricted posting abilities for at least a one-week period. With an established history of violations that include restricted posting, repeat offenders may be placed on immediate posting restriction without warning. Severe violations such as blatant and hateful attacks may result in instant posting restrictions, without the benefit of a warning. The moderators of this board will attempt to be as fair and unbiased as possible, and have been selected based upon their ability and demonstrated history to act as such. But there are times when an individual may be made an example of...don't be this person! The Moderators word is FINAL, please do not aggravate a situation further by arguing over a decision to edit/moderate.

Thank you.
