  1. I was looking at the boots and I am thinking that the seam coming down the front might very well be an issue. Like others have said, check with your GML on that. If he says they are OK they will do for basic approval. I looked closely at the pictures and noticed that there is also a zipper on the inside of the boot. While this is perfectly acceptable for basic approval (I have an inner zipper on my boots, but am planning on buying a new pair of boots next month), they would not pass for Level 2 or 3. Just something to think about. I am not saying you have to get level 2 approvable boots, or that you have to reach that level. I just think it is a good idea to keep your options open because you do not want to do what I did and wind up spending money on 2 pairs of boots for no reason. I understand the cost involved, that is why I am still at L1, but think it is always good to be looking ahead.

I imagine this is a simple addition to "Optional Accessories" for the Navy Trooper - rank bars and code cylinders. Then, when/if we apply for Level 2 and 3, the correct combinations will need to be met just as all our other officers.

In terms of straight vs. jodhpur, I would imagine jodhpur for this combination considering the rank and cylinders (Staff Officer with a helmet, basically). Unfortunately, only a behind-the-scenes photo will tell for this one.

I agree with it being an option, and a cool one at that for a R! IN. As for the pants, that's a tough one, and I see your point, which makes sense. I am thinking though that we did not see IN's with Jodhpurs until ESB. I would think the IN officers in R1 would have the straight leg pants like the ones in ANH. Especially since this takes place right before that. Tough call on that. Maybe once the bluray comes out we can see better.

Thanks for the pics as well Kris. I can do 4 blue today if I get around to it.

Yeah.  I can see both sides of the debate on that one, frankly, but I'm fine with how things played out, too.

I know the 501st made up the designations, it just seems like some pretty odd choices were made, for a few of them.

    Overall, though, they're pretty meaningless.

I do find it ironic that we still refer to someone's Legion number as their "TKID" even for people who don't have a TK designation.  I started off as a TK so it made perfect sense, but as I add other detachment costumes, it starts to seem a little funny.

Yeah, I feel funny having a TKID without having a TK. I do have an ID though. Probably should be an ISO or SO (Imperial Staff Officer)

The 501st made up all the prefixes except TK-421

Don't get me started about the whole TK vs. FN in The Force Awakens.  That was an ugly debate.  Some FO Troopers wanted to form an entirely new detachment just for FN's...

Wow, that bad huh? Glad I missed that one. Oh, and TK-421 still is not at his post!

  5. I got bored so I figured I would share some of my photo shop work I have done over the last week or so. It was a fun time killer and most came out pretty good for someone who really does not know what he is doing. I try though.

I did one for my TIE Reserve Pilot uniform as well, bit figured I would stick to the IOC uniforms here.

See, in my opinion, that is more orange the amber.  I work in the automotive paint and trucking industry, the difference between orange and amber is always subjective and subtle.  It basically boils down to a preference,

Yeah, I agree. That is why I will not get rid of the yellow. Someone may have a different opinion someday on what amber is. Lol! That and who knows? I might be in the mood for yellow on a troop.

  7. Hey I have the same star destroyer you have there but you actually added stronger internal lights. It also has sound effects like the distress Claxton siren, engine, main battery cannons. Gave it to my 8 year old.  Yours looks awesome.

Thank you. Mine is silent and I went a little light happy. I would love to do another one someday.

  8. It will be a while before I get to Life Debt. One quarter of the way through Rogue One, but had a busy weekend so no reading was accomplished. I read Aftermath when it first came out and now cannot remember the story. Ugh!

  9. It is a lot easier now though since everything going forward is considered cannon. I was never able to keep up with the "Legends" books because so many were released at once. If you fell behind then, you were done. I have read most of the new books, I have them all for the most part. I keep kicking the thought of reading Ashoka around. Supposedly it is a kids book, but it seems like it might be interesting.

  10. I actually enjoyed Lost Stars. I liked the way it took a different spin on the events before, during and after the original Trilogy. I thought Aftermath was OK, I have yet to read Life Debt. I thought Tarkin was good. So far the only book of the new cannon line that I had a hard time getting through was Heir to the Jedi.

Do we get more background history on Krennic and Galen Erso?

Yes, you definitely do. It also gives you a lot of insight on how disposable the Empire considers you when you have finished your work or when it comes to stripping planets of it's resources to benefit itself. I think I appreciated it more after having seen Rogue One. Having a familiarity with Krennic, Galen, Lyra and Jyn made their characters a lot more interesting and made it easier to understand where each was coming from and where their actions in this book were leading them.

Jeff - Maybe now being familiar with the characters, the book will be more interesting to you. Give it a shot.
