Awesome, so all we have to do is take a look at the Krennic version and make it black.

I think these two officers with Krennic on Eadu are staff officers, they are present on Scarif on the control room, the color is clearly black.
Coolness! Are they the type with the rank bar attached to the cape or the other? Sorry to be a pain. It is so hard to tell from the pic.

Guess I didn't look close enough. I thought they showed Line officers in rain coats too.
Looking at the pic, it is really hard to tell because of the lighting. The line officers have those nice trench coats though.

Should be the same as the Krennic rain cape, but olive gray?
Staff would be black, but I hate to assume and then have something completely different become official. That would be my luck. lol

I really want a CRL on the Officer capes in Rogue One.

Well, they'd be cheaper than re-buying a 300$ pair of boots, but not by much. For the effort one might as well sell the boots and re-buy them for a little more, so that you at least have accurate zipper-less boots, like I was saying I'd do.
That just sucks man. I really feel for you.

Congratulations on 15 years Don and many more. No good luck on getting her to join. Mine just laughs at me when I bring it up.
Yeah, I pretty much get the same reaction. I asked her once if she ever played dress up as a kid. When she told me she did not, that explained a lot.

Yes, I liked the 2 blues and a red rank bar.

it was 15 years ago today that I married my best friend. Incredible how time goes bu so quickly. She is my best friend and my partner in all respects of my life. I do not know what I would do without her . She has always been there for me and certainly saved my life on more than one occasion. I love her dearly and am truly blessed. Now, if I could get her to put on a costume and join the 501st she would bring balance to the Force.

Ok, you have my attention. I cannot wait to see what this hat looks like. I am brimming with antici.......pation.

Oh, it's totally fine for basic approval, and an effective technique, to be sure. I've used it in a number of places, just not here.
For those who like to go for higher levels, or simply be more accurate, it's good to have all the info on hand so an informed decision can be made, whether it's "screw the higher levels, I just wanna troop" or "bring on the ruler and judge my accuracy!" LOL
Re-reading the OP, it seems they're looking at this for a TIE Pilot, which is a different detachment entirely. Not sure why it's posted in the IOC forums, under the circumstances... although that uniform is very, very, VERY similar to our Bridge crew uniform. But the JRS CRL for TIE Reserve/Pilot also requests the vinyl patches instead of embroidered. So the same questions would apply, I suppose.
For level two certification (if applicable):
- Imperial patches on the shoulders are printed vinyl rather than embroidered.
At any rate, there's the info, so decisions can be made. Happy trooping!
It would make sense. I know I am getting embroidered with my flight suit, but have every intention on going vinyl once I get working on it. I wonder if the would work with the velcro? I may experiment with it some, but trial and error will determine that one. You give out great insight, thank you.

Is that approveable for upper levels? That's a really old trick for military patches, and there's no doubt that it works, but it does make the patch "stand out" a little more, and might make it look more like the regular embroidered patch instead of the iron-on vinyl patch that lays practically flush on the fabric. The material would be different between the two, but the overall appearance of a patch "sewn" on is not what they're looking for. (at least, that's my impression)
I'd be curious to see leadership weigh in on this. While going with Velcro sticks with the letter of the CRL, I'm not so sure it's true to the intent / spirit.
For level three certification (if applicable):
- Imperial patches on the shoulders are printed vinyl rather than embroidered.
I just assume that with washing, patches always seem to get the worst of the wear. It has worked wonderfully with my Stargate, Battlestar Galactica and S.H.I.E.L.D. costumes. Just trying to help. I f my suggestion is wrong, then I apologize
-
Just a suggestion, but you could apply an equally sized circle of sticky Velcro to the patch (The sticky part) and sew the softer side, same circle size to your uniform. This would allow for you to remove the patches when you want to wash your flight suit, which will add years of life to your patches. That is what I am planning on doing with mine anyway. Just a suggestion. I learned this from my Stargate SG-1 cosplay and costuming friends.

So saddened by this.

Too super hero looking. They are nice looking, but the CRL states no super hero style boots. That and if they do have zippers, they are to be on the inside of the calf and not overly visible.

There have been reports of a large Rogue dressed in red and white flying in a pod-like vehicle powered by what appears to 8 Tauntaun-like creatures. Orders are to detain and hold for questioning as he may be a Rebel sympathizer trying to deliver secret messages of goodwill to those who would plot against us. Beware as he may have Force abilities that could convince you to release and send him on his merry way.
Happy Holidays to all!

Very nice! Keep the good work going.

Olive Gray? Interesting.

Thank you all, I did have a great time and we did have fun with the theater staff as well as its patrons. One of the workers behind the concessions counter asked me on Sunday when we were coming back. I told him, "I guess when Episode VIII comes out". I had to explain to him it depends on if their management asks us back. It was cool though that they enjoyed us being around so much.

It began on Thursday. It was my first experience with the 501st. I was a spotter for Victoria and Bryan, which honestly was a blast. The theater was slow, but I did in fact learn a lot about the armor and some of my he construction techniques that go into them. Absolutely incredible and a fun experience as the two of them bought smiles to the few faithful fans that came out that night.
On Friday I was contacted by our GML Brian and was informed that my uniform was approved and I was now a member of the 501st. This was an absolute thrill for me and was told that instead of spotting, I could troop for "Rogue One" on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday I had the privilege of trooping with Bryan, Serge and Jared for my first official troop with the NER. It was awesome and Jared was an absolute thrill to watch as Darth Vader. The weather had an effect on the turnout for this one as well, but those who dared to venture out for a movie got a real treat.
Which brings us to Sunday. Yet another great day of trooping and this time the crowds came out. I had the honor of trooping with Steve from our Garrison as well as Tyler and Laurynn from the ECG.a lot of people, photo ops and even a kids party that was there to see the movie. Busy and fun for all.
So in my "Rogue weekend", I learned a couple of things about my uniform as well.
1 - if you sew stirrups into your pants, do not make them too tight or they will pull your pants down.
2 - After altering and loosening stirrups, suspenders work much better at evening things out.
3 - I see some Dr. Scholl's for my boots in the near future.

Interesting. so you could convert a grey uniform into Rebels style grey uniform then.
-
cool. Congrats.

Thank you all. I am thrilled to be a part of the 501st.

So, I got "Star Wars: Catalyst" for Christmas and finished it today. Wow, what a good book. It is, ironically, a great prequel to "Rogue One" and really sets everything in motion. I would recommend it to any Star Wars fan and especially to any Rogue One nuts out there. I got Rogue One for Christmas as well and look forward to beginning that either tonight or tomorrow. Just cannot get enough Star Wars.
