I keep my officer uniform in a large trunk on wheels with my AT-AT Commander armour. It's big enough that the jodhpurs only need one fold in the middle, the tunic only needs vertically (lightly) folded, and the boots can easily sit on the bottom. Also it helps pad all those delicate blasters, rank bars, belts, dosimeters and that!
I DO want a more secure method of transporting the metal bits in particular. Haven't had a chance or a good lead locally yet though.

Usually we have a lockable or out-of-the-way changing room that we leave our gear in. On the rare occasion where we don't, I try to leave anything especially sensitive in the car. Belt boxes would certainly have been useful, but I'm ESB too! Our Jedi lord it over us, wandering about with their belt pouches full of goodies...

I keep telling people this when you get the old familiar Nazi nonsense brought up!!
Thinking of printing out a picture and bringing it with me on troops...

I had some awareness of the 501st from (I think) some of the old Star Wars magazines and the odd mention online - certainly I was aware that the 501st was a fan group by the time the original Battlefront 2 focussed on the clone unit using the name. However, I was under the impression that we were a: all stormtroopers, precluding a tall and 'large' me, and a me with little in the way of cash to buy kit, from getting involved; and b: exclusively American. Which as there was not an Ireland Garrison at that time may as well have been correct!
I met my now-Garrison mates at the Belfast Film and Comic-con 2017 quite by accident. Those aren't really my thing, but my cousin had convinced me to go to meet wrestler 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan. Saw a few folks walking around in TK kit, but it was our Garrison CO in Line Officer attire that really grabbed my attention! In all games where it was an option I always played Officer. In anything Star Wars-y that I wrote, Officer! Had a chat, joined the forum a month later, crewed a month after that, cleared my ID about 4 months after that.
So from no inclination but slight awareness to boxes and boxes of wearable plastic items on a chance meeting! 🤣

For boots, maybe the likes of Soviet Boots could be a possibility? Can't speak as to trench coat, but for the other parts I've used Darman's Props on etsy for my DL-44 and E-11 holsters, prices are very reasonable if you go for the lower-weight leather ( https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DarmansProps?ref=shop_sugg )
To get a blaster anyway reasonably, a kit might be the best bet - which are you thinking of?

I tend to say 'uniform' without thinking about it.
Or 'thon bloody green thing', depending on how the troop's going...

There is, I believe, an on-going run for generic 501st Legion T-Shirts on 501st.com - that is, with the 501st Legion logo, not that of any detachment.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the film! I don't credit to the furore of 'fan' groups before a print of the film has even been released, and contrary to modern form prefer to formulate my own opinion then discuss it!
I was actually reasonably excited at the prospect of it being the first Star Wars film without a single lightsabre, as it would prove that such a story can be told and told successfully thus opening the door for a vast variety of possibilities in the future.
I admit I'm at a loss for what people are looking for, what qualifies as a 'true Star Wars film' if even this doesn't.
Oh, and that Imperial Army Officer gear. Gimme. Now.

Agree with the broad opinion that it would be fun to see/do and a nice variation. Also might help people like me that prefer to hide their mugs rather than risk having to look at their own gob in photos!
Non-canon certainly, unless an example appears to make it canon - and cleared with GML etc
I think TOR showed the way alien officers and non-Sith-Species-Sith would be treated, but that they were not outside the realm of possibility. Fair enough, they were not Imperials. Still, alien baddies in snazzy uniforms.

Just wanted to chime in that I was extremely pleased with the price, turnaround and product - you can see it in my signature.
Glad to see OSOS open again

The officers were my favourite characters when I first watched the trilogy as a kid - Veers, Tarkin and Piett. Even above Vader in some ways! I suppose it was because they were by and large 'normal' people. Not over the top mega-villains (well except Tarky I suppose!) and not a ragtag mess like the rebels.
As soon as I got in touch with the 501st my first thought was a Line Officer uniform. In fact, it was seeing our GCO in that costume that made me interested in joining.
I have a couple of other costumes now (the armoured AT-AT Commander, sort of a line officer 'expansion pack' really and Royal Guard) with more in consideration, but Imp Line Officer will probably remain my 'core' costume, to be tweaked and upgraded over time.

Thanks for your feedback Sean - I'll see what I can do about the rank bar.
I do have sufficient props to replicate the Captain Piett format (Captain rank bar and dosimeter?) - if a correct Veers bar should prove impractical to procure, would it be a simple process to switch the application to Piett?
I'll check out the flares tonight. I certainly hope it's a trick of the angle or the way I'm wearing them!
I'll attack it with an iron too - blasted thing doesn't want to stay ironed for me!
13 hours ago, DarthFunk83 said:- Your jodhpur flares seem "asymmetrical", meaning that one said doesnt seem to match the other side. I am not sure if this is an optical illusion from your pictures, but could you please take a picture of your jodhpurs flat to determine their shape.
- For Veers, you likely know that his rank bar is fairly unique. His rank bar has wider spacing between tiles. Because for Imperator we are trying to replicate an on-screen officer, this rank bar would have to be modified or replaced.
Lastly, I would highly recommend giving your uniform a good ironing/press. This will greatly reduce and minimize the wrinkles on your uniform. If you could provide me pictures mentioned above, in addition to new head-to-toe front, back and both side pictures in good lighting, that would be appreciated.

Hard to say, I've aways been a fan of the villains in movies and fiction. The Empire, the Romulans, Jafar, Nilfgaard.
As others have said above, perhaps it's the 'break from reality' element. Where's the fun in playing a smiley goody-two-shoes when you can be a snarky, frowning bad guy all in good fun?
And it helps when you have Peter Cushing as the main representative of the Imperial Officers you see on screen!

I didn't have much Star Wars gear at all my first few crewing troops - just grabbed a baseball cap with the Cog on it from Eason one day and wore that!
A lot of our crew who are not yet members of 501st or RL don't wear anything Star Wars-y.

I've been taken for a Nazi or a 'German' twice, and a Japanese officer once. Also got asked if I was police by a tourist and, hilariously, a resident. When the police were about 50 feet away. Got called 'creepy guy in green' by a radio DJ which earned him he ire of the Garrison, and an older fan dropping money in my collection bucket loudly saying 'there you go General!'
Also got called Darth Vader at a troop. I was wearing AT-AT Commander armour.

Hopefully they will use the studio in Belfast they use for thrones
Thinking maybe they'll need a few extras with their own gear?
Who'll work for autographs and sneaky advance prop pictures?
Very curious to see what direction they'll take the series in (or be allowed to), but something approaching the level of intrigue and drama of GoT in a Star Wars setting would be fantastic! If GRRM's never going to release Winds of Winter, maybe he can write a Star Wars screenplay

Epoxy should do the job - although on one occasion I did have an epoxied magnet pulled clean off the rank bar by the connecting magnet. Same happened with superglue, it's hilarious at the time until you realise that the trooping's over for the day at that point!
Bit of E6000 should do if that happens.

I've had that a couple of times too, one was a tourist asking if I was police when in the Line Officer, and again when wearing the Veers armour!
