CrashedATAT got a reaction from bjsavage7 in Why an IOC costume?
The officers were my favourite characters when I first watched the trilogy as a kid - Veers, Tarkin and Piett. Even above Vader in some ways! I suppose it was because they were by and large 'normal' people. Not over the top mega-villains (well except Tarky I suppose!) and not a ragtag mess like the rebels.
As soon as I got in touch with the 501st my first thought was a Line Officer uniform. In fact, it was seeing our GCO in that costume that made me interested in joining.
I have a couple of other costumes now (the armoured AT-AT Commander, sort of a line officer 'expansion pack' really and Royal Guard) with more in consideration, but Imp Line Officer will probably remain my 'core' costume, to be tweaked and upgraded over time.

You can absolutely switch. What you would have to do is formally request that this submission be withdrawn. I will then move this thread to the Withdrawn section of the forum. You would then create a new topic with a Captain Piett configuration with new photos, etc.
Good luck!!

Hello Simon,
I am posting on this thread on behalf of the Deployment team. We have collectively reviewed your application for an Imperator submission for your General Veers Line Officer submission.
Overall, your uniform is quite good, and the accessories you have are good. As Tristan mentioned above, there doesn't seem to be anything technically wrong with your uniform. However, this being Imperator, we do hold our officers to a high standard (we are officers after all and must look our best at all times). That been said, there are some things we would like to have addressed:
Your jodhpur flares seem "asymmetrical", meaning that one said doesnt seem to match the other side. I am not sure if this is an optical illusion from your pictures, but could you please take a picture of your jodhpurs flat to determine their shape. For Veers, you likely know that his rank bar is fairly unique. His rank bar has wider spacing between tiles. Because for Imperator we are trying to replicate an on-screen officer, this rank bar would have to be modified or replaced. Lastly, I would highly recommend giving your uniform a good ironing/press. This will greatly reduce and minimize the wrinkles on your uniform. If you could provide me pictures mentioned above, in addition to new head-to-toe front, back and both side pictures in good lighting, that would be appreciated.
If you have any questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to ask me. Good luck!!
Cheers,

CrashedATAT got a reaction from Duchessina in Simple question: why the Empire?
Hard to say, I've aways been a fan of the villains in movies and fiction. The Empire, the Romulans, Jafar, Nilfgaard.
As others have said above, perhaps it's the 'break from reality' element. Where's the fun in playing a smiley goody-two-shoes when you can be a snarky, frowning bad guy all in good fun?
And it helps when you have Peter Cushing as the main representative of the Imperial Officers you see on screen!

CrashedATAT got a reaction from xAlpha in How to wear rank badges
Epoxy should do the job - although on one occasion I did have an epoxied magnet pulled clean off the rank bar by the connecting magnet. Same happened with superglue, it's hilarious at the time until you realise that the trooping's over for the day at that point!
Bit of E6000 should do if that happens.

CrashedATAT got a reaction from Duchessina in *SPOILERS* Last Jedi Reactions
Too much comedy, to the extent that the villains are entirely non-threatening. I haven't been able to shake my own 'Pinky and the Brain' comparisons since.
The story around Rey/Ren is progressing well I think, I have no problem with it and enjoy it greatly to the extent that it is the biggest buy-in of the series so far for me. Thought Luke's character was spot-on, actually.
Stefan's point about the fighters is one aspect that really left me scratching my head. Fine if you're going for the hubris of the First Order (vocalised by a new favourite, Captain Canady early on), otherwise sloppy.
'The Superman' was a moment of major emotive dissonance. Not a fan!
My biggest criticism is that too much fails to have a purpose. The well-trodden segment is (the more I think of it) entirely irrelevant to the plot. A couple of other things could have been removed with no, or extremely little, ripple effect overall.
One description of a piece of technology towards the end made me cringe, can't quite believe it was intentionally typed on a page.
Yes, it's beautifully realised. Very impressive scenes and choreography. Acting is fine. Some intriguing ideas. But too much filler, too many headscratchers, and too much ill-placed comedy.
Where do I place it? Well I've gone back and forth. It hovers about the middle of the franchise so far for me.

While everything visible looks pretty good, I'd suggest re-taking the full body pics in good lighting. They are very dark.

Hi Simon,
I can't see anything technically wrong with your costume. However, might I suggest that press your costume, polish your boots and buff your dosimeter, then retake your photos preferably outside in good light?
That way you will look your best for any promotion.
