Trencher I should of known you started this talk of WW2 . It's not the first time we discussed WW2. I'm a little distracted tonight, in the middle of a dart tournament.

Honestly, I have not run into any info on repercussions of using a normal salute. That's a good point though. It could have happened. But like I said. I personally have not found any evidence of repercussions.

Very interesting and . How did the navy refuse the the party salute without any repercussion?

I would really like to know too, the only documents I have studied (I did a paper on nationalism for one of my promotion courses) only referred to the Civilian government and the Wehrmacht (Army) I have not seen much about the (Kriegsmarine) Navy. Any history buffs want to take up the challenge of finding some primary source material ?

The  "Hitler Salute" was compulsory for civilians, an edict from the Reich Defense Ministry, in 1933, required the Hitler salute of soldiers and uniformed civil servants while singing the national anthem and another song that escapes me , and in non-military encounters both within and outside the Wehrmacht I.e. greeting members of the civil government). All over occasions they were permitted to use there service salutes.

It was not until a failed assassination plot in 1944 that military personnel were ordered to use the "Hitler Salute" in July of 1944. I believe but I do not know this for sure if you were military and not a Nazi Party member you could still use the "Hitler Salute" but I cant see any one facing charges for doing a "Hitler Salute"

So true.   They went way to far towards the ww2 German salute. Well minus the German navy. They refused to do the Nazi salute.

When the command bridge view ports were compromised. The ships E.A.P.S.  (emergency atmosphere pressure shield) engaged. Ok I just made that up , but for (b.s.) it sounds official. Right?

Fun fact: Instant death is a popular misconception, with regard to outer space.  You can actually survive in the vacuum of space for a short time with almost no damage, and a surprising amount of time without permanent damage.   Not super long, of course, but there's a bit of time there, either to escape to safety (quickly!) or be rescued (a little more cushion there).

There are limits, of course, so who knows how Ezra lives, but apparently he did.  And who knows what advantages Thrawn's alien physiology offers in that respect.

Even if Ezra didn't manage to rescue himself before passing out (and/or before his force bubble gave out?), perhaps Thrawn's vacuum resistance is higher, and he chose to save Ezra just so he could punish him personally, arrest him, etc..  Which, presumably, would eventually lead to Ezra's escape, since that's how things tend to work in the Star Wars universe.

Oh, hey, and something else I just thought of: It's possible the ship's shields were still on, enough to retain the atmosphere, at least.  (just like people aren't sucked out into outer space in the Death Star's docking bays)

Star Wars and physics in space travel have never really mixed though. Swooping, diving fighters, &c.

I mean we can make up hand-wavey superscience explanations, but at the end of the day, it's not realistic. But it's great, nonetheless.

It was the space suit thrawn had in his back pocket the whole time. :). But I would love to see the explanation.  I'm still thinking moving at or faster than light speed and no space suit on. And how long before they stopped. I'm just being nit picky. I'm a firm believer in the laws of physics and space travel.

You know, I was rewatching the last episode with my kids. And WELL, there is a loop hole in our theories.  I noticed for the tentacles to be inside the bridge that the glass had to be broken. And Ezra even lifted it using his force powers. It was all over a couple of shots.   And I know that in reality, if you are exposed to space you die.   So even in hyperspace.  You would be exposed to the vacuum of space.  I think they accidentally killed Ezra and thrawn.  So, now in my head if they show back up. I'm going to want an explanation of how they lived the vacuum of space and at hyperspeed to boot!

Stinking physics! Always getting in my way!  Just like gravity being my greatest foe.   Its always dragging me down in life
