I'll try not to be too distracting, so I'll be brief. I don't think Deedra Meero is the main villain. I'd say it's an opinion. Syril Karn is more the main antagonist than Meero. He's in opposition specifically to the "Hero" Cassian than any of the others. Deedra is more the main antagonist to Luthen than Cassian for most of the series. If that makes sense, then any of the other ISB supervisors should get a CRL of their own or even Syril himself with his custom piping and tailoring. I personally like the way the Non-saga CRLs are written as they give members the freedom to do pretty much any imperial officer character.

That's my last word on it here.
Let's discuss what are the merits of a new CRL creation elsewhere. What are the qualifications and what disqualifies a new CRL?

Sorry, Tom, but saying any named officer needs a CRL then saying not every named officer needs a CRL in the same post sounds too much like a double standard. That doesn't sit right with me. What is unique about the costume to warrant a separate CRL? Truly unique. There isn't much in my eyes. To do a named character has always been to base the Executor and Imperator certification on the character. every CRL in the legion has something unique about them. Something that sets them apart from others. Unfortunately, there isn't anything unique about most officer costumes. That isn't the fault of the IOC. That is by design of the costume department of the production.

After reading the progress on this multiple times and maybe this should be an extended conversation elsewhere, but from what I'm reading it's seeming more and more that this conversation is less and less about the actual costume and more about the fact that the character is female. Which bothers me. When did we start including gender into the creation of a new CRL?

Maybe it's because I'm a male but I have never seen any backlash over female CRL's. The principle that has been for IOC CRL creations has always been based on unique details in a character's costume. Director Isard for example. A very unique costume due to the red tunic and trousers. Then there's Thrawn and the Rebel's Thrawn compared to other GAs. Again, unique compared to others. Dedra Meero getting her own CRL just because she's female is sexist.

The 501st as a whole should not start the precedent of judging the person's appearance or gender. Only the costume and how it fits on the body. That is all and how it always should be. That's why we have a female as the CRL for the Rebels Era Thrawn right? Gender equality should always be present, but we shouldn't arbitrarily favor one over the other. If there truly is something unique in the costume by all means please find it, hunt it down, bring it to light and write the CRL and I'll rejoice as hard as anyone because I love to see new CRLs completed and hard work rewarded. But let's do it right first.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong or if I misunderstand something... and please don't misunderstand my opposition for discrimination. Sexual discrimination disturbs me greatly.

I can't speak for any LMO administrations having not served on one.
I can speak for previous IOC administrations having been your predecessor, and working with my predecessor and his.
Where has there been resistance to CRLs for women?
The CRL models could certainly be updated to feature a more diverse array of members, but in my time and in my various roles I was never privy to specific CRLs for women or feminine presenting members being denied for that reason alone.
Seeing as you brought it up here, I'd appreciate elaboration on it here.

Dedra can't be done at the moment. You can use her configuration, but most the ISB officers had that same one. At the end of the day, you'll just be approved as ISB. The GML is going to approve you as ISB.

Glad you decided to listen to the membership.

    It also appears that the inside of her belt is uncolored, which would explain how her uniform isn't covered in black stains from the belt rubbing off;

Unfortunately any boot that goes over my calf has to either be specifically made wide-calf or custom-made. My legs are no joke. Lol

Plus I’ll be waiting the same amount of time for my tunic from MazKave.

I respectfully disagree. I think characters/officers that play a significant role in these stories deserve a CRL. That includes people like Tarkin. I've never heard this sentiment voiced in any other administration but this one.

At the end of the day when you go to the GML, you will not be approved as Dedra, you will be ISB. No matter what is said or promoted here.

It's a good system, for background officers sure. But you won't be approved as that Officer, you'll just be line, staff, or ISB with that named character configuration.

This is one of the first on screen imperial officer female leads, and not giving her a CRL is a disservice to our female members here in the IOC and the legion as whole. You have the interest, let the CRL be made.

I wholeheartedly agree with Eagle in my capacity as Diversity Officer for my garrison. A female imperial lead is a VERY big deal and to not include her as her own CRL would be a disservice to all female and femme-presenting 501st members who have been waiting so long for a major female Imperial face character. This could also have implications for possible LFL casting troops, although they are rarer these days, I will admit. And people want to see face characters, let’s be honest.

She and the femme-identifying members of the Legion deserve more than “ISB non-saga with three blue tiles and a blonde bun.”

On the point of the middle seam, there is no evidence it *is* there in the non-saga ISB uniforms. Not in the references I’ve been able to find, anyway. They rarely show the tunic without the belt, so the opportunities to look are few and far between. We only know it’s there in the OT uniforms because they’ve been on display where they can be closely examined. The ISB non-saga has not had that opportunity, to my knowledge.

I am currently working to get higher-res images, and reaching out to find someone who might be able to tell me more. I’m also working closely with my GML, who is an approved staff officer and naval trooper. We’ve been pouring over the scenes where Dedra and the other ISB officers appear, and as far as we can see clearly, at least in Andor, they all wear the same style flat top boot with a strap. The location and style of the strap is still something we’re trying to nail down.

You *could* also just get some synthetic boots for L1 and regular trooping while you wait for CrowProps.  They are like $70 or so, and are good enough and it's not like you worry about them if you have to troop in the rain etc.  That is what I did.

The newer shows have different variants on the trench coats, and include stitching and pockets not current allowable in the CRL.

The olive green "Kenobi" trenchcoat has stitching on the pockets, at hip level, and a large fake pocket at 45 degree angle on the left breast.

I've included reference images, as well as the line in the CRL that would need updating.

I would also like to see some distinction with the Andor ISB officers. I am doing extensive research to do a Dedra Meero, but would like it to double as a standard ISB non-saga. The problem is that since I am having mine custom done by MazKave, as well, and all my accessories will pass Tier 3 standards, I want the tunic and boots to, as well.

However, Dedra and the other ISB officers in Andor do not have the curved top riding boot, as specified in the CRL for Tier 3 - in fact, all the ISB officers with their boots clearly visible in Andor do have the straight-across boot top, and it appears the flap, as well. Also, in the scene where she is putting on her tunic, the seam around the middle which the belt is supposed to cover seems absent. This detail is also required for ISB non-saga Tier 3.

There seems to be a disconnect between the current ISB non-saga CRL and the way the uniforms are presented in Andor. This mostly applies to higher-level approvals, but as someone who would very much like a double approval as a generic AND face character, and higher-tier approvals, these discrepancies pose an issue.

Edit: I am looking at my screenshots again and it does not appear Dedra has the flaps on the side. But I will have to examine more closely.

Technically the color is a German word, "Feldgrau" ("Field Gray") which is a greenish brownish gray.  "Olive" is probably the closest color in real world, of course, which specific olive?  OD green is definitely not right... the US military "olive drab" green is far too green.  What you want to avoid is actual gray... that's a distinctly different uniform (which now exists due to Andor, as the lower level assistant officers to the ISB higher ups... the name is not quite formalized yet).

For the traditional Line Officer (like Tarkin and others in the original trilogy, or the Military Officer in the non-saga movies and shows), Anovos looks closest to "right" to the eye, but interestingly, the German garrison did a special run of fabric that was color matched to Tarkin's actual pants (owned by a private collector in Germany), and comparing Anovos, Wampa, and a scrap of that German fabric, Wampa's green is actually the closest match to the real deal.

The Internet has given rise to dozens of new forms of communication, one of which being Internet forums and message boards. There are forums and message boards for just about every topic, some of which require membership to a site, while others have free registration just for the forums. Some forums are visible to the public and others require registration, but whatever the case, Internet forums and message boards give everyone a voice. One of the problems that springs from this convenience, however, is the question of etiquette. What exactly is appropriate behavior on Internet forums and message boards?
Review the Forums to Avoid Duplicate Posts. One of the common problems with etiquette on Internet forums and message boards is the duplication of posts. One person will post a question or raise an issue and a new user will pose the same topic on another thread three days later. Not only is this a waste of your time, but it can also irritate veteran members of the forum who are tired of seeing the same issues raised over and over again.
Never Use ALL CAPS. One of the pitfalls of Internet communication is that people can't read your tone of voice or intention beyond what you say on the forum or message board. When you type in all CAPS, reader interpret your tone as yelling because that is common for people who fail to use sentence case. So put in the extra effort to create sentences in sentence case or, if you don't have the time or inclination, write in all lowercase letters instead. This is still annoying but it won't make people as angry as all CAPS.
Use Correct Spelling and Punctuation. Your postings on Internet forums and message boards don't have to be ready for publication in a novel, but they shouldn't be riddled with grammatical and spelling errors, either. Proper etiquette entails that you make an effort to write correctly, if only so that other forum members can understand what you're saying. "NetSpeak" ('u' for 'you'; 'k' for 'okay'; 'cuz' for 'because', etc.) is also becoming less acceptable as Internet forums and message boards become more sophisticated and draw more professional users.
Ask Before You Attack. In many cases, a seemingly offensive post is not meant the way it sounds due to the lapses in communication on the Internet. Before you dig in with both claws to provide a snappy and nasty comeback, consider asking the original poster to clarify what he or she meant. If it turns out that you were correct in your original interpretation, you can feel free to speak your mind; however, if you weren't correct, people will respect you for having an open mind.
Ignore Spamming. One of the great things about Associated Content's forums is that there are very few instances of spamming. When it does happen, the members of the forum ignore whoever is creating the ruckus and everything is back to normal in a few hours. Don't encourage spamming by drawing attention to it; instead, pretend it doesn't exist or notify a moderator so that the offending post can be removed. Likewise, don't provide your own spam; keep self promotion to a forum section that allows it, if any.
Don't Include All Previous Posts. There's nothing more annoying in a forum or message board than people who copy all previous posts into their own. If you have a specific passage on which you want to comment, feel free to copy it in your post, but don't include them all. Internet etiquette dictates that you make reading as easy on everyone else as possible. If they have to scroll through twenty posts in which all previous posts are quoted, no one will want to return to the thread. The rule of thumb for this form of etiquette is to never quote more text than you intend to write yourself.
Use Topic-Specific Titles. Many people read threads based on their titles, so try to be as specific as possible. Don't say that your topic is one thing when you plan to talk about several other things. This doesn't mean you can't expand on your topic, but try to keep it as relevant as possible.
Take Personal Issues Off the Forums. Internet forums and message boards are for public discussions which bear relevance to more than a few people. If you have a personal issue with someone else, take it off the forums. If the message board offers a private message function, use it. If not, exchange e-mail addresses and continue the discussion in private.
Avoid Power Posting. Some Internet message boards and forums offer prizes or awards to the people who contribute the most to discussions. This leads to "power posting", which involves replying to threads with empty messages or with nothing more to say than "LOL" or an emoticon. If you don't have anything useful to say, don't reply.
Avoid Trolling. A troll is someone who posts topics on message boards with the sole purpose of instigating argument or debate. It is definitely an etiquette no-no and will earn you the disrespect of everyone on the forum. It is usually easy to identify a troll after they've been on the boards a few weeks, and you could easily wind up with a suspended account.
Don't Flame the Staff. Many message boards and forums are run by a company or service provider, such as Associated Content. Flaming the staff on their message board is akin to going to someone's house just to insult them; it isn't proper etiquette, and is just plain rude. If you have a legitimate complaint, post it with courtesy and decorum. If necessary, wait until you've calmed down to post a message about it in the forums.
Post Under the Proper Categories. It is never enjoyable to find a post about politics under a forum category called Job Opportunities for Web Designers. Keep your threads consistent with the topics that govern them and ask if you aren't sure where to post a particular subject. The moderators don't want to spend all their time rearranging threads.
Avoid Hijacking a Thread. Hijacking involves posting a new idea or topic on someone else's thread. Sometimes, if the topic is related, this is okay, but try to post new threads if you need to start a different discussion. People who are interested in your topic can go to your thread and you won't offend anyone else this way.
Use Your Words. Finally, I encourage you to "use your words". Did your mother ever tell you that when referring to general etiquette? This means finding better words than cuss words or inappropriate comments. If you can't post without cursing or otherwise being offensive, move on and post on a different thread.
Obviously, this isn't an exhaustive analysis of Internet forum and message board etiquette, but it should get you started. The most important thing is to be polite and civil whenever possible.
