  1. Okay, so there's no difference in the CRL between the uniforms themselves. Just the accessories.

I was asking because I am working on making my uniform at the moment and I was following the OT CRL specifications.   But then I realized that you can accessorize the Non-saga version a bit more (i.e., trenchcoat, vertical belt boxes, dress shirt, poncho, ect.) So I just wanted to make sure there were no changes I would have to make to my pattern if I decided to aim for that costume instead.

  2. I've been looking through the CRLs and I'm having trouble understanding what the differences between the R1 and OT line officer uniforms are.

I can tell the difference visually.  R1 uniforms seem to be made of a slightly different material and the overall construction looks more sharp than the OT uniforms, but I don't see anything about these differences in the CRL.

So what are the primary basic level approval requirements for R1 uniform as opposed to an OT one?

My first blaster was a converted Rubies toy E-11 I also have a 3D printed E-11 which was fun to build and surprisingly light

Yeah, I have an EVA foam one I made!

I find my 3D printed blasters are nice and light. There's some great STL files out there if you have your own printer.

    I don't have a 3D printer, but I have a friend who does!

  4. Has anyone heard of someone using prothstetics for their Thrawn costume?

I've decided to do that and I was just wondering if anyone else had thought of it.  It would make the make-up application a little easier.

  5. I've been working on a mock-up, and It seems easier to just have the inner flap go halfway.  It also makes it easier to make the code cylinder pocket.  I'm doing a Rebels Thrawn, so I think I have a little more freedom with parts of the tunic that are unseen, since he's an animated character.

  6. I have some rudimentary sewing skills, so i'm a bit confused as to how the officer's tunic goes together.  I figured out how most of it is made, but I am unsure about one thing.

How do you achieve this type of seam?  Do you take two of the same piece, sew them together, then turn them right side out?

  7. I agree,  you can make some really convincing leather with EVA foam.  Though I was thinking,  the armor on characters in Rebels seems a bit "flexible".  If you watch Agent Kallus or Sabine, you will see their armor stretch and shrink to allow movement that would be otherwise prohibited by their armor.  It would be interesting to replicate that with EVA foam.
