Lol I know what you mean. But... I kind of do an Admiral myself lol. I figured as I’ve supplied literally hundreds of badges around the world now that I could get away with it. Also, I’m Navy :P

lel, fair enough I suppose. I also find it funny that if you have a Line or Staff Officer, you basically also have the Social Officer uniform. All you need extra is a shiny pair of shoes XD

No worries at all. Don’t stress about it too much.

I’m sure it will all work out fine.

Line Officer is a great choice! :)

Yeah. Originally I was going to make a Staff Officer, but due to what I wanted, I found that the Line Officer would better suit me. It's also funny because I will have a small rank bar of an ESB Lieutenant, and I don't often see people that cosplay as lower ranked Officers. Everyone wants to be an Admiral or Captain XD

  3. Yeah, that cape collar definitely needs to be fixed. But other than that, everything looks great to me. Then again, I'm not sure if the specific details match the CRL, because of picture quality and I'm also still getting the hang of all of this. Either way, good luck getting the uniform fully up to standard.

We often have visiting people coming and trooping with us here so I would say it should be ok. When you apply I would maybe touch base with your Garrison to explain the situation and then once you move out contact the next local Garrison. You have transfer over or you may not depending on the timeframes etc

Alright, that makes sense. Thanks for helping me better understand the whole situation. I just wasn't sure on the specifics but the information really helps, so now I can get back to getting my Line Officer uniform together.

Yeah that’s the tricky part. Possibly once you finish your training and get posted somewhere for a longer time and settle a bit would be a better time to apply? Or perhaps your home address as it is now and move garrisons later on?

That seems like it would work. Do I have to be with the local Garrison to be involved in a troop in that area? Because if not, I'll probably stay with my home address until I settle down XD

I’m in the Australian military and basically I just juggle work and social life like anyone else would, the main difference being that sometimes the work part has had me away for months on end depending on deployments etc.

Generally you need to troop at least once a year to remain ‘Active’ but in most cases your Garrison will certainly make allowances if you are deployed and unable to troop. I would be surprised if they didn’t do this noting you are away serving your country.

Alright, that seems fair. Though I would have to wonder exactly what Garrison I would be apart of...since I may end up moving around a lot

  7. Hello fellow Officers! I've been thinking about my future plans and I'm not sure how it will conflict with me being involved with the 501st. In about a years time, I will be Enlisting in the United States Air Force, so I'm not sure how that would work? Are there special rules for service members in the 501st? What garrison would I use, if any? I'm just unsure overall, but will still be trying to get my uniform anyways. This may not be the proper place to be asking this, but perhaps someone in here knows the answer or has dealt with a similar situation before. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd have to double check, but that rank sounds right.

Even though it is accepted at basic, I never recommend people do double row bars on a Staff Officer (black).  In the films, they didn't wear them.  There are examples of it in other references, I don't deny that and am not here to re-litigate that point. :)

It just bugs the poo doo out of me to see it.  Personal preference.

For Staff Officers, I've been steering folks towards Rogue One/Solo variants.  In ANH, the Staff Officers wear completely different uniforms.  And there aren't Staff Officers in ESB or RotJ.  But there are in R1 and Solo.

But it's all up to you. :)

That makes sense, though I did a quick search. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Sheckil shows that in ESB, an Imperial Lieutenant had double bar rows while in the Staff Officer uniform. Unless I'm completely mistaken in that point, in which I apologize, since I'm slightly tired.

Black uniformed officers in RotJ would be Warrant Officers.  They (in that movie at least) didn't wear any rank insignia.

So you'd be looking for the olive green.  Again in RotJ, all the Line Officers wore the same rank bar;  Three red over three blue.

Oh, alright then. So it would be better if I went for an ESB Officer. If I'm correct, then isn't the rank of an ESB Lieutenant, two red over two blue? And if so, would the Staff Officer uniform work in that case?

It’s been pretty hard to be honest. Daughter is going through chemo at the moment. The outlook is quite good but it’s still really tough. Just got to keep positive!

Star Wars, 501st, the IOC and Rank Badger are a good outlet to keep me going :)

It's great to hear that the outlook is good. Best of luck to you and your daughter.

The past week has been great!!!

School is out for the summer and I have 10 weeks of not having to deal with polite, caring, attentive, considerate, courteous, gracious, thoughtful, well mannered and respectful students.

That's good to hear. Summer break is always nice XD

  12. Hello all! I was looking under the CRL and noticed something, the Olive Green Line Officer and Black Staff Officer uniforms. I am trying to make a uniform that would have a Lieutenant Insignia, and am not sure which to use. I get that the Line Officer would fit, because it's a lower ranking Officer, but I've seen pictures of low ranking Officers in the Black uniform. Does it matter which I choose? Should I pick the Olive Green one to go along with the rank? I'm just unsure.

  13. This is a bit of a curve-ball post, but it's not something I see done often. Since posts don't happen that frequently, I thought I'd do something like this. How has everyone been doing the past week? Has it been a blast? Has it been rough? Feel free to comment below how you are feeling, if you want to. (And I know, asking this on a Monday is ironic.)
