Hi all was wondering if ISO non saga boots can have zippers and where located? Can I still get level3 approval?

    TIA

Hey Gary! I just checked the CRL and from my interpretation, you CAN go to lv 3 with zippers. Most CRL's explicitly say no zippers but not ISO. Might be a mistake however. Either way they're good for basic approval. You can always get approved with what you have and change them out after you're in.

  2. Technically the uniform looks good to my eye, nothing immediately stood out as wrong. However,

I would pass on their rank bar, it appears to be acrylic chips which, while approvable, IMO it's very much worth splurging on a push button rank bar, they look significantly better.

I would also pass on the boots, they look cheap and uncomfortable, I've bought cheap boots before and it's something I'll never do again.

I'd also skip on the belt and cylinders, they both appear to be straight up wrong, and IMO would not pass approval.

Keep in mind the quality, I recognize the green from the ultra-cheap costume shops (I own one myself) and the material is super thin and flimsy.

I personally recommend Jim Tripon. He's actually cheaper ($215 I believe for hat tunic and pants). He's not my favorite maker, but his stuff is tailored and a good value for how much you're paying. It has also held up very well for me. He does use cheaper materials, but I spoke to him, and I believe if you want to supply your own fabric you are able to. He's available on Facebook.

If you're willing to stretch your budget I recommend Maz Cave as well. They're highly rated and use quality materials. Empire - Officer - TAILORED Uniform - Imperial Black / Olive Officer

I'm sending out to have my uniform tailored, working on my son's ST-Cadet kit in the meantime. I'm printing out his helmet, but I'm wondering what folks do for lenses? I used the search bar but didn't see a guide anywhere, so I'm hoping someone has the know-how. Or is it just trial and error?

I believe most people use a Hobart face shield. I get mine off of cyberweld.com. When I use it I trade out the visor opening onto a piece of paper (easiest way to do this is hold the paper onto the back or tape it in place, and use a sharpie to draw out the design. Then, I put it behind the shield, and cut out a larger visor so there's some extra room to add adhesives without showing through the lenses. I do also recommend before you permanently attach it, to use tape to hold the rough shape in, it'll just make it easier to hold it in place.

Per the ISB Non-Saga v2 CRL:

My currently approved ISB v2 costume uses flat front dress pants, I’ll need the creases to get to L2 and L3. How do I “add” creases to them? How long do they last (one troop, multiple wears, etc)? And is there a way to make them permanent?

I believe it's as simple as ironing them "correctly". Try laying them on their side, that should work. Not sure how long it'll last, if you store them properly (garment bag on a hanger and not crumpled up) it can last a decent amount of time (worn mine out a few times and they still have a slightly visible crease)

@AntonioTony  I was just searching the forum to see if anyone asked about the helmet worn by Lt Gorn as he rides the speeder.

I am approved with oilve uniform and black poncho, and would like the option of the helmet if people think that is a reasonable addition. So I support this addition.

Just adding to this, I believe it is just the Ferrix/Aldahni helmet. Would need a closer inspection to be sure but no reason for it not to be the exact same thing (from a props standpoint)

  6. Now that we've confirmed we're getting this, I plan to order my kit from Imperial Surplus shortly. I am a bit bummed it's not its own CRL but I understand the reasoning. I assume we can also add this new type of code cylinder to the CRL once it's ready?

I believe we should focus in on this guy for the uniform

And a mixture of him and Heert for references on the armor itself, though I do believe we get a shot of the Marshall turned away from us, will have to rewatch

Another thing I just noticed, he has two of the x wing/tie pilot code cylinders, one in each pocket.

It also looks like his blaster has a coiled wire and black cooling fins? This would appear to be an OT MSP5 if true. I'll see about getting a better picture.

Are we able to look at these again?

I've finally pulled the trigger and ordered a trenchcoat, I'd love to be able to wear it unbelted and with a 3red1blue rank badge

My understanding is you can wear any rankbar you want as long as you have both present. I think the addition is for lv 2/3 only. I got mine approved with the captain rank bar.

  9. So I was rewatching the episode with Heert, and while this is the thread for the Marshal, Heert wears the same thing except he has a radio. I have found the radio they used and have printed out test pieces (before resin printing) to assure it all fits together nicely. Here's what I've got. There's also a file included that has the slot to connect the disc in the back so it holds on the armor.

  10. We're actually waiting to hear back from legion command on this (hopefully tomorrow!). I believe currently it's part of a separate CRL (ISB Marshal) but (imo) it should also be for the standard ISB officer. I'm actually actively putting together the radio when I saw this.

I noticed for the Line Officer CRL as an optional accessory you are permitted to wear olive hue gloves for ANH officer impression. So I figured why not and that I'd look to add such an uncommon accessory to further differentiate my uniform.

It seemed the closest match I could find on the web for this type/color of glove were some German Bundeswehr surplus but they're in limited supply and only on ebay. However I did stumble across some relatively inexpensive gloves on Amazon that seemed to more closely resemble the pic in the CRL and are of fitting leather construction.

What do you guys think? And does anybody by chance have any screencaps of Officers in ANH wearing these olive gloves? I rewatched ANH recently and didn't see any so I'm thinking it's possibly from a reference shown behind the scenes.

I believe the officer wearing them is the guy who brings the scanning crew to the falcon. It was mentioned before that the most important thing is that they match your uniform.

  12. Good morning, everyone. I woke up to an email from Galactic Armory today announcing that they posted these ISB Tactical Armor - 3D Print Files – Galactic Armory files to their Patreon and webstore. I've taken a quick glance at them and based off what I've seen while watching and what spec ops has discussed, they look fairly good to me. Since I'm a patron I already have these files, so I plan to print out a set in the coming days.
