fil5117 got a reaction from ID6187 in Belt Box Size
On a different note Alberto, you know the belt loop shouldn't be there right?

fil5117 got a reaction from Risvang in Commander Nahdonnis Praji konfig
As the current Deployment Officer, and the person who wrote the ANH costume configuration post. I thought I'd best weigh in here, even though I'm a little late - Deployment Officer duties keep me extremely busy.
When I originally drew up the list of Officer configurations I used a number of additional sources to fill the gaps where the details weren't seen in the film. There were references which showed Praji with gloves, holster and blaster, but not from canon sources. After someone questioned how do we know if he a blaster when we couldn't see it on screen, I changed these details to be optional.
This is where the confusion has arisen, once they were listed as 'mandatory', now they are listed as 'optional'. Basically, at Imperator level we are looking for you to produce as an accurate and authentic costume as you can. We also love people who discover details we have never noticed, and we really like people who put the time in and research the uniform, and understand the subtle nuances.

fil5117 got a reaction from CommanderBaz in ID85421 Requesting ANH Staff Officer Lieutenant Childsen Imperator Status [3.-]
Previously we have been lenient (right or wrong) with the top stitching, due to the fact the majority suppliers now offer a uniform without top stitching we are now strictly impose the CRL requirement:
On a personal basis I would also prefer Imperator level ANH Staff Officers to have the 'Fahrenheit 451' style jacket, at the moment this is a request and not a requirement.
Unfortunately, I will have to reject this request, apologies,
Phil

fil5117 got a reaction from AdmiralOzzel in ID-20060 Requesting ESB Line Officer Exector Status
Can you only ensure your costume is pressed and is shown in the best possible way.
If you haven't read this already, it may help:
Good luck

Rene,
Thanks for your submission, can you please provide some side and back photos. Then further photographs to highlight the key points raised at level 2 of the CRL.

Can you also ensure your photo's include your latest uniform configuration, if you have a new hat that will need to be worn in the photographs.
Thanks,
Phil.

fil5117 got a reaction from KodiakAK in Rank Bars Challenge and Questions - Rogue One and OT
Maybe the gap could be even a little shorter, the rank bar starts about an inch off the centre and just overlaps the panel seem. You also have to take into account your chest size may differ to the actors - so even if you do get the measurements spot on - it may not look right.
Good luck though, despite me sounding a 'little' harsh (I am grumpy) I like the fact you're questioning things. Keep at it

fil5117 got a reaction from Hask in Proposed Updates to CRL Staff Officer Black to Staff Officer Rogue One
The thing is without the central seam, the jacket would look like a sack of crap. I imagine that's why it's there.

fil5117 reacted to Daetrin in Proposed Updates to CRL Staff Officer Black to Staff Officer Rogue One
If that is the case, then it should be on the Tarkin CRL only, as if it's not visible, why do we require it on other costumes? Answer = we shouldn't. I'd love to see this removed as well.

fil5117 got a reaction from HelenK in Third hand information from John Mollo regarding Officers
I was discussing the officer uniform on another forum - when Peter Briggs a screenplay writer who's currently developing Panzer 88 with Gary Kurtz made this comment:
"I remember that John Mollo told me that his intent with the "Black Officers" was to make them Vader's personal troops…they were Vader's very own "SS". I was surprised at that, as I always assumed they were simply a standard Imperial rank. Likewise, John told me that the white/cream uniformed guy in the Death Star conference was modeled after Goering, and he was meant to be a sort of Air Field Marshall of the Imperial Fleet. John took his job very seriously. I think it showed!"
I couldn't think where to put it, but I thought it was worth sharing, for those who hadn't heard it.

fil5117 got a reaction from Hask in Proposed Updates to CRL Staff Officer Black to Staff Officer Rogue One
I've wanted to write a CRL for ages, but Garrison and IOC duties have meant I just haven't the time
I've seen 5+ in the UKG, 1 Russian Outpost and 1 Polish Garrison (I believe). Some people like to push the accuracy

fil5117 reacted to Ruthar in ID-12110 Requesting ANH Staff Officer Imperator Status
OK, great - thank you for the feedback!
It might take a little more time than I would like to get the new components tracked down as this is a crazy busy time of year for me, but I will certainly see to it. An upgraded pair of gloves has been ordered while I start experimenting with darkening the leather holster. Please stand by!

fil5117 got a reaction from Mac in Proposed Update Imperial Navy Trooper
Usually this doesn't constitute a reference as it maybe a pre-production still. I'm pleased it's Rogue One, I've spent hours looking at Naval Troopers in RotJ and I hadn't seen it
Personally I'd say hold off till mid next month as the DVD will be out and we can get proper reference.

fil5117 got a reaction from gmrhodes13 in Proposed Updates to CRL Staff Officer Black to Staff Officer Rogue One
When I was a costume mentor for the Garrison, I tried to encourage people to get the best out of them. At the end of the day different people get different things out of the hobby and different Garrison have different priorities. For me the levels allow for that.

Unfortunate but not all GML's only look at basic requirements we do look at the whole CRL and do encourage members to reach for the higher levels.

fil5117 got a reaction from MSE6 in Officer coat/cape
I can't recall seeing great coats in the expanded universe. I've read most of the Dark Horse comics, and can't remember seeing any.
I'd say wait for EP7 and go with General Hux.

fil5117 got a reaction from Centauri in ID-65015 Requesting ESB Line Officer Admiral Imperator Status
It's important to remember it's still a great uniform, and the cap is a great addition.
Yes it's CE, I spread payments over a 6 month period, it's part of my AT-AT Commander upgrade. Just need new boots.

fil5117 got a reaction from Thubin in Payed for Greeblie, no response
I have him as a friend on Facebook, I believe he's on holiday at the moment. A break in this hobby how dare he? Remember most of the props vendors are doing this in the spare time, patience.
