fil5117 got a reaction from Centauri in Director Krennic CRL Discussion
Personally I would use the levels to increase the accuracy requirements. But as Kris says face requirements exist on other costumes. We are not discriminating, if a costumer can achieve a realistic representation of a face character they will clear. Hair colour is easy enough to achieve with wigs / hair dye. We have some excellent female General Hux costumers, the level of detail they have gone to is amazing. Where it's possible to compromise we do. If people can't meet the requirements of a face character, try for a similar generic character, in this case an ISB officer. You could possibly where a cape at non canon events, in the U.K. we only do canon troops, so forgive me if I'm not clear on the exact allowances with non canon, though I have seen a high degree of freedom and interpretation.

Director Krennic's blaster is a modified MP-40. You can cut up an airsoft version. Plastic versions are $15 on eBay.

fil5117 reacted to MyKill in What do you wear underneath Imperial Staff Officer?
At first I just wore whatever SW T-shirt I'd worn to the troop, but since I got them back in February, I wear one of my IOC T-shirts from the run back in November 2015 exclusively. Best shirt ever!

fil5117 got a reaction from Jaki in Officer Poses
I march / walk like Lieutenant Sheckil (Jeremy Bulloch) - hands clasped behind my back, chin slightly up. I mentioned this to Mr Bulloch and he said he studied the military and copied it, I believe from the Polish.
When standing my feet about a foot apart, hands behind my back, a look of superiority (e.g. Veers, Piett).
It's very easy to 'over the egg' the look and poses and look more like a pantomime (or cartoon) villain, or have your legs too and look like you're trying to do the box splits.
For me I think of an Officer as quiet contempt - a Roman General, stiff upper lip English Officer - Michael Caine in Zulu / The eagle has landed. Some shout, which is good and the public react well to it, but it doesn't suit me as a person.
Take what you see in the film and put your spin on it.

I think the blaster should be optional, for said reasons, if you have the blaster you should have the holster; and a holster by itself would look a little foolish.

Some times I hold my gloves in my hand, I've seen this done by military personnel before, though it is not done in the film.

fil5117 reacted to kman in Which level?
CosplaySky's officer uniforms can be taken to Level 3, as long as they fit you correctly.
Obviously the other accessories need to meet the requirements as well.

Skirt, and the neck looks a tad tight, maybe going up a jacket size wouldn't be a bad idea.

Jodhpur flares look a little big, but do have the right (ideal) shape.

fil5117 got a reaction from Vanedor in IC-6042 Requesting "Imperial Officer: Line Officer, (Olive Drab)" Exector Status
I'm sorry to hear that, you have a great uniform. The only changes I was asking for at this level, were ones relating to the fitting of the costume.
With such a great uniform and the amount of effort you've clearly put, I see it as a shame not to do this, but that is ultimately your decision.

I can post the original photos if you would l
Don't worry about sounding picky, you don't. Besides if you didn't critic then how would we strive to improve our costumes. Will work on those issues and get new pics later. Thanks

Thanks, however it would have preferred if you kept the original pictures, so I could compare. I'll endeavor to review these this weekend.

fil5117 reacted to Vanedor in Wampa Wear Hats
I have been talking with Wampawear's owner about this and he says they are indeed conical but it does not appear so on the picture because it did not stretch out side way. He is going to put it on a head and take a few more pictures.

fil5117 got a reaction from CommanderBaz in Wampa Wear Hats
My initial opinion is they're too cylindrical, the crown is too big. But they're only a prototype, the design can change. If they match the quality of his other work they'll be great.

EAO series 01-901, is what most state side use (and what I'm using to build mine), there's another brand that offers similar ones in Europe. Newark is the main supplier for the EAO:

fil5117 reacted to bjsavage7 in Staff Officer Ranks
Yeah, Jir is a Lt. Almost every officer in Star Wars is mis-labeled "commander" either on screen (Motti addressing Tagge, Vader addressing Jerjerrod, ect) or in some random description on line. It's more of a "this guy is in charge" title, than a rank. The original Kenner action figure of General Veers was painted as a Staff Officer & called only "Imperial Commander".

Not got round to it yet, even though I was out trooping last week. Next time out I will get the pics taken so they can be submitted.

Yes! That's a lot better.
If you can post a new face on picture, showing the rank bar in situ and your belt nice and tidy we should be good to go.
