Post from 501st legion forum: https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=106862&p=1352596#p1352596Halloo!
It has been five years since our last drive for donations to pay for Legion hosting costs.
Over the past five years, we have shifted our servers to the AWS (Amazon Web Services) architecture, utilizing Cloudfront CDN, RDS databasing, Route53 DNS, and AWS Firewall security, as well as regular backups and the storage thereof. We adopted a Google GSuite account to provide a more efficient email solution that also allows us to utilize an API to allow for opt-out, expanded our domain registration account with both Amazon and GoDaddy. And not least, we have taken on six detachments (FISD, IOC, MEPD, BHG, SLD and soon-to-be SP) to be hosted under the Legion account. We push an average of 650G of traffic a month between the main site, Databank, the forums, and the hosted detachment sites.
Our last drive in 2015 raised funds to cover the Legion's hosting bills for the period of February 2015 through August 2020, and it was a drive for only 501st.com.
It is time for us to pass the bucket again - combining the drives for the Legion and six hosted detachments.
Our first goal is just to keep the lights on for one year for 501st.com and the six detachments, no contract, paid month to month. Our second goal would allow us to lock in a contract with some price savings for three years, while our third (stretch) goal would allow us to go beyond that as well as explore other services and/or enfolding more detachments (if they choose) under the AWS account.
Please make sure you are logged into the forums, and then take a moment to visit the donation page, and make a small contribution to help fund the site: https://www.501st.com/donate/
There you will be able to make a donation and see how we are progressing at meeting the goals for this drive. If anyone has any questions - feel free to post here, or to email us at lwm@501st.com.
Thanks You!

Nice work, only improvement is you could position your rank bar a little higher

Are police on a casino planet considered bad guys, would they actually fall under the 501st, I guess that's up to the LMO's once someone has a costume and applies for costume approval.
I did manage to find 3D print files for the helmet https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2950287

The only blaster you see officers wearing in the Merr Sohn Power 5 and that particular officer wasn't wearing a holster at all.
Some wore DH-17s with a holster, but not the guy in the detention block
And you can just make out the pointy silver shaft in this image, which has a left sided holster

It can differ between garrison's and depends how much of a work load your GML has (garrison membership liaison) Normally it can be from a few days up to a few weeks. You can always check in with your GML and enquire if you have submitted an application.

Some of our wranglers opt for a Star Wars shirt, usually stands out if they are with us. We do have safety yellow vest with 501st info on which we use at certain events. We also lend shirts out for wranglers at times. Anything that shows your belong to the costumers

You can't officially apply until you are 18, definitely contact your local garrison for your area which will be the Redback Garrison , then speak to the Garrison Membership Liaison.

Lots of build threads to read through and also check with the CRL's (costume reference library) you will find IOC's here

I think it's been pretty much the same all the time I have been a member, detailed references from an official source of the costume front, back, side, side.
The character must be represented visually by an officially authorized Star Wars publication. Ideally, clear full body front/back/side reference should be available, but can be examined on a case by case basis. Costumes based only on text descriptions cannot be approved. An action figure or statue may be used as supplemental reference, but cannot not be the sole reference. McQuarrie concept characters, and other characters whose only reference exists in concept are open for Legion consideration on a “case-by-case basis”.
My heart does go out to the applicant, obviously a lot of work goes into making a costume, there is always hope that more reference material my become available or even a figure made.
