Have you tried getting your boots stretched I had the same problem this plus some elastic sewn onto the bottom of my pants which passes under my foot helps to  keep everything in place when pulling on my boots

If Rebels is the only known instance of a black staff officer wearing a double row rank bar, perhaps the next update should add such a restriction to the black staff officer CRL (regular and 451).  If a CRL for a Rebels Staff Officer is ever drafted, it could be allowed there.  But I'm of the opinion that since there is no such reference for the film version of the costume, we should hold Staff Officers to single bar ranks, even for basic.

Same.  Makes me cringe when I see Staff officers wearing them.  Which I do.  "It's approvable for basic and I like the way it looks."  BLARG.

I sure would love to tweak that particular CRL to tighten that up...

Hello Robert! I am so glad and and thankful that you responded. All of us not communicating and not listening to each other and transparency is what landed us all in the situation and Detachment clement we are in today. This is no one persons fault it is all of our faults and I am here to stand up and say I apologize and I will be the first to admit there have been huge mistakes. I hope that moving forward we can forgive (but not forget).

I do not think that is ending and I do not want it to, in fact the charter flat out calls for Membership to assist in the creation of CRLS. So if that were happening we would be in violation of our own rules.

Honestly the detachment is just trying out new things and change is very very much needed and not everything works out but continuing on the path we are currently on will only lead to disaster. This is a huge, passionate and busy Detachment (one of the busiest in fact) and keeping up with all things is hard.

Also I am extremely dinky at times. You may want to ask a question directly to us because I am not seeing it as clearly as perhaps you are and I apologize.

So I hate just rambling off ideas and comments without also offering to help and or suggest something.
Would it be helpful If we wrote out something that full on explained (in details) what we are looking for in a CRL?

I personally have written one before and it was scrapped as it will take actual Legion Council approval to hit the site itself but I would be very happy if we all could utilize the guide to make informed decisions as a team and work though things in the future.

By incorrect do you meant opinion or actual incorrect information?
-If you mean opinion as described above please post your grievances to the command staff here.
-if its an actual error please mail me.
Do you mean that there are a lot of options?
Yes, us as LMOS make this choice in the end. We take the basic, most used. most seen part and put that into a CRL.
sometimes optional of like items that occur as often happens.
We can not (nor should we need to) list every single option that was seen on screen.
As I said before there were 18 Obi-Wans made and all of them slightly different.
Just like in the Kylo Ren CRL only the hood up is an option. Why? Cause its most iconic
that is our goal. There is leeway like you will see in the newest Praetorian Guard CRL where you can have two neck options for the collar on the shirt.
Perhaps on some of these that can be looked into
Correct and that will never stop! In fact you guys are one of my favorite detachments due to the resourcefulness of being able to attain information.
    BRAVO!

As CRLS are living documents this will never change as per the charter and op protocol calls out Green lit CRLs are changed infrequently.

**Spoiler alert** Major CRL changes sometimes we give a 30 day window as we are with Joeys new officer costume which will be changing another CRL by default with this new information
Anyone and everyone should have a voice in things when possible. Im busy, it cant always happen overnight and I cant throw things into CRLS immediatly. We want to eliminate the wait and speed up the process and cultivate a place of positive action for this detachment.
Also what we REALLY want to do is stop the "dumpster" fire effect. Its been really intense and allowing members to bicker over and over and over and beat dead horses is creating an extremely toxic environment in this Detachment.
    Sorry, rewording what I wrote

If you ever feel that you are somehow being silenced please message us at LMO@501st.com
I promise you that will not happen. Its gonna be hard at first learning how to go about this new system but we need change and I support trying things
I absolutely agree though even if this forum was removed you know how to get a hold of us. You know you can come to any of us if you have reference images and proof and its a warranted change that it would be added.

Well, you have no experience with me. Mail me.

Correct. Issues were aired but in far to many cases it turned into fueled dumpster fires. I want to help change that. Which is why I think that showing folks how to write CRLS and why we do what we do is needed. I manage 4 detachments and this one takes up the most time and its time I could have spent fixing CRLS.
I am literally neck deep mitigating arguments and wading through "opinions" and I manage the Sith Lords so that should be saying something.
Evaluating how we do things needs to happen.
Its needed to happen for a long time.
Change is hard, trust me I get it. I am just asking that you give us a chance.

    Thank you,
    Dawn

This is highly possible. Just my 2 cents: I suggest we move forward with it as-is & just update it as-needed, if EPVIIII provides any new info on it, i.e. rank title, back details, ect.
Exactly. We have plenty of OT costumes that have been retconned from one rank/title to another once new canon came out. We can still see the physical costume & replicate that (which has been done), if not the correct/exact title for it. No reason this costume will be different. Perhaps make it a variant for now, since someone has actually made the costume, and not just talked about it and expected a CRL to somehow pop up without a model. I say we go with it.

I would prefer to keep the science officer CRL the way it is. It would be great if we could create a mess dress CRL for the black version and another one for the olive colored version but I will take any version we can get approved by the LMOs.

This happens all the time in filming.  All of the various groupings are often shot together at separate times and then composited together for the final shot.  It's actually somewhat obvious in the final shot, which parts were added later, when you know what to look for.

The figures are just plain wrong.  This happens ALL THE TIME.  There's a reason why we don't accept figures as canon resources.

The Starkiller scene coat split is CGI... inaccurately rendered.  It is a composite shot combined with static elements that were shot with real actors, and entirely rendered elements, such as Hux's coat.  Normal 501st policy is that "mistakes" such as this are not usually included in the CRL.

The actual coat worn by Hux has no split.  Hask and KDKdesign are correct that it is an inverted box pleat.

As to the leg wraps under discussion, I don't follow the construction under discussion well enough to wade in.  Is there any way someone can draw a diagram that illustrates the two competing theories?

I agree that the scene in the TFA shows a full back slit - but after reviewing the rest of TFA movie and TLJ - I saw no evidence of a slit on the coat in any other scene: no slit openings with empty space intween slits -plus with a slit like that, his boots would clearly be seen going through the slit when walking  which doesn't happen in a video I have include (and it wouldn't be a good look forthe costume).  Instead I found a lot og evidence that supports the inverted box pleat for below the waist and above the waist in the back - and inverted box pleat is commonly used in tailored coat to give extra movement room in the shoulders as well as long coat skirts - as scene in the coat worn by Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock (at bottom) - I'm posting what I can now as I have mother's day thing to do today (an dhad planned to post this info with all my new FO research but the topic came up today) - I'd be happy to discuss this more later - as I know the slit evidence is there in the TFA scene, but I think that is a scene drawn in CGI and the animators misunderstood the pressed edges of the box pleat as a slit - and that the actual costume in both TFA & TLJ have an inverted box pleat along the entire Center back that is sewn shut at the waist.

The TLJ coat clearly has fabric between the pressed edges of the box pleat that cover the boot so the boot does not go through the opening:

Here's a scene of Hux walking away in TFA - you seen the flat shine and vertical edge of the pressed pleat when he walks away - but no boot coming through an opening, which is what would happen if there was a slit:

Here''s the inverted box pleat in the upper portion of the coat clearly open in and pooped out in TLJ - and my coat I make showing the same affect:

You can see the back pleat opening up a few inches below the collar seam - TLJ - I have more pics of this pleat in other TLJ scenes

so in conclusion - here is how I think the back of the Huc great coat in made in both TFA & TLJ _ and the Sherlock coat to show how these type of inverted box pleats are used in other long coats:

The strap is there and its clear in the visual dictionary and the behind the scenes photos i have seen , im not sure who the majority is but for me personally I can see the box pleat it's very visible in TLJ and one scene in TFA Just the way the coat moves when he is walking shows there is no split as it bellows out like a cape, I feel both options should suffice
