Had no idea you are a Gundam Fan Emma and I are huge fans as well the next Con we were planning of both wearing Federation or Zeon Uniforms.

Ultimately, it doesnt really matter. I always encourage my hard armored Garrison mates to get an officer (any officer) so they can kit down into something more comfortable. I say, whichever officer you like, build/wear that.
All ways encourage people to make and officer uniform

I cant see them as having a dress uniform maybe coveralls, I thought Death troopers were rumored to be altered and kept separate from normal troops.

I don't remember that one there is the Imperial Adjutant (Warrand Officer Ardwyl Hercho) that has 5 blue bars and a code cylinder on each side.
(Edit I went out side to watch those videos and you are talking about a complete different officer lol when I read the post the videos were not visible)
And on the hat thing there is a raft of protocol as to when a hat is work and official functions, It can be a simple as hats are collected at a central point, or held or worn it depends on when who and where. All military's have there own rules. As those images of a party on a criminal crime boss's ship I think how the uniforms are worn would be of very little consequence if ISB found out lol.

At times we have had chiefs of the CIA that were 3 stars admirals and yet were called “directors”. The head of the V2 rocket program in WWII Germany Werner Von Braun was a civilian director. He also was a Sturmbannführer in the SS. The same is for Director Krennic. Krennic is the director of the advanced weapons group AND he holds the rank of Fleet admiral ( 6 Blue, 6 red).
And its not a theory. The screen writers, the costumer designers and the people in the story group publishing the books are all saying it. Go look.
Same in our Military, In my organisation we have a mix of Lt Colonel's/Colonel's (O5-O6) and Civilians that hold director positions under our CIO ( Chief Information Officer)

Don’t think too much about the ranks they are a mess just like real life, an army Captain in the ADF is a NATO O3 officer in the Navy its an O6 Officer

This is how far I'm with the novel, Thrawn is not Grand Admiral yet, but we all know he has this rank at the end.
