"Best" is subjective, but I've used a combo of models from gucabe and seankfields in the past, and been happy with the results.  I don't usually print the main blaster, however... that's a huge PITA and always somehow lacking, IMO.  I like hacking up cheap plastic airsoft mausers.  They're plentiful, inexpensive, and have moulded plastic far superior to what you get with 3D printing, and save a ton of work.  Then just 3D print the add-on bits.  (much like the original prop guys added on various bits to existing pistols)

This thread of mine is old, but might have some useful ideas for you (it covers using both the Denix and the plastic mausers):

We updated the ANH Staff officer to further clarify the unique tunic and add graphics to help the GMLs differentiate that this is not just "the black version of the olive tunic"

    Added "special notes" section.
    Special Notes
This costume is very rare. This tunic was unique to ANH. It is NOT a black version of the standard olive tunic. The collar clips on the side of the neck instead of the center of the neck. The yoke closes up across the shoulder, instead of coming up to the shoulder seam. The tunic has top stitching in some areas, whereas other tunics have no top stitching. The rear sleeve seam opens at the cuffs, instead of having no opening. The rear of the tunic has double vents (one on each side), whereas other tunics have no vents present. Princess panels extend to the shoulder seam, whereas other tunics extend to the armhole.
If the tunic is a black version of the olive tunic, THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT CRL for it. The correct CRL is the Imperial Security Officer (Non Saga).

Updated the picture for the tunic to show what is correct, and what is incorrect.
Tunic, Black Fabric is a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the pants and hat. Gaberdine style weave is most accurate. Tunic is double-breasted with a left over right closure on at the right shoulder-seam. The back of the tunic replicates the look of the double breasted design of the front. Yoke closes up across the shoulder to the top shoulder seam. The standing collar has square corners and is approximately 1.25' to 2' tall and closes snugly. Collar edges close on the right side of the neck with two eye hooks. Collar closure edge aligns with the right shoulder seam. There are code cylinder pockets on both outside panels of the jacket from about half way between the top and bottom on the arm hole. Sleeves are long, and without decoration, containing 2 seams, one along the bottom and one along the back. The rear sleeve seam opens at the cuffs at a length of about 3" (75mm) Tunic has top-stitching in these specific areas: Approximately 1/4" (6mm) from the outer edges of the double breast/double back, Approximately 1" (25,4mm) from the outer edge of the double breast/double back Directly underneath the edge of the code cylinder-pockets Hook and eye fasteners on the uniform are not visible.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There is a dart in the top centre of the tunic, this dart is between 2 inches (50.8mm) to the top of the code cylinder pocket in length. There is a seam running the entire circumference of the tunic, dividing it along a line hidden by the uniform belt.
OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Tunic to be secured on the right side by snaps or buttons, not Velcro. There is no topstitching visible anywhere but at the noted points. A cream lining is to be sewn in.

There REALLY isn't much to these holsters.  Literally two straight seams.  Here's mine, from PhiloProps:

Here is a link to the SE-14r holster. There are two listings for a "male" and "female" officer but I don't see much of a difference

kman got a reaction from Amadeus98 in Boots
501st guidelines are IOC guidelines, but yes.

The style boot is harder to find retail these days, since it's less popular among the horse riding crowd, but they can still often be found used at paddock shops and the like.  Or custom riding boots for BIG (REAL big) money.

For costuming purposes, it's not generally necessary to go overboard, though.  The Hessen Antique boots Ron mentioned are a fantastic choice, that easily meets top Level 3 requirements.  Note that you need relatively slender legs (calves, really) for this style of boot, else you'll probably need to go custom if you have wider calves.  For people with wider legs, the Hessen boots are not a good fit.  But there are other sources: Crow Props makes custom boots for a reasonable price (just get the ones without a zipper ideally, and I would ask for leather soles instead of synthetic), as does Mux Leather (I'm told people have better luck with their eBay store than the direct website, just FYI).  (Hessen does, too, but we've had mixed reports on the reliability of their custom boots, for some reason, so caveat emptor.)  The Crow Props boots aren't quite as nice as the Hessen or Mux boots, but the fit should be very good.

For the record, side zippers ARE allowed, but only on the inside of the legs, and only at basic level.  ("A single stretch panel or zipper may be present, they are to be hidden on the inner part of the boot shaft.")

Posting in Off Topic because it's not technically an officer, but I'm very proud of my Veers.

All the greeblies (helmet rangefinder, back spine, belt emblem, chestplate details, and backpack detail) all made by me.  The ABS is from MonCal.

Meaning have it bunch up exactly as in the original (hopefully a little less, due to the tailoring), but smooth on your back (very visible) and more bunched on your sides (less visible).

The Rimowa cases were made in a number of colors, styles, and sizes over the years (and still today).  The specific model they used on the show is the silver one I posted a photo up above, but in black... I'm honestly not 100% certain whether they painted a silver one black, or if there is a black model of that same case.  That one model is easily spotted due to the unique wide aluminum strip on the sides with the side locks.  I would be surprised if they didn't manufacture them in black, since that's a common color across their product line, but it's possible that model was only aluminum.  (In which case the one they used on the show was painted, too... that just seems unlikely they would bother, instead of just getting a black one in the first place)

The black one that I purchased (also pictured above) is a little larger than the silver one, but not massively so.  Certainly close enough for approval, and far closer to the original than the cheap AliExpress ones I've seen people modifying as "close enough" cases.  (Also bear in mind, I'm 6'3" tall, so the larger scale works better for me than it would for someone the size of Denise Gough (the actress who plays Meero.)

Silver case dimensions (taken from eBay auction listings, so take them with a grain of salt!):  Either 38cm×25cm×9.5cm or possibly 35cm x 27cm x 9.5cm (Again, different listings showing the same case seem to list different dimensions sometimes, so I'm more than a little suspicious)

    My black Rimowa case dimensions: 46cm x 37cm x 12cm

Interestingly, in several of those "crowd" scenes outside the ISB building, such as the opening scene where we actually see Meero carrying the briefcase, there are several other officers carrying briefcases, too, but they're all different from Meero's.  Unless they have a pile of that very unique vintage briefcase, I'm not so sure this going to be a standard ISB piece of kit, and may well end up being unique to Meero's character.

That said, they DO like Rimowa luggage, it seems, so it's entirely possible we'll see more.  Syril Karn was carrying a larger piece of Rimowa luggage when he was heading to his mother's apartment.  (All aluminum, too)

I once found the exact Rimowa case they used onscreen, BUT in a different color.  Handy for reference pics, at least.  I've not found it in black.

I'm pretty pleased with the Rimowa I bought, however... slightly different sides (the skinny sides, not the broad top and bottom panels), which I may see if I can play with to update the look, if I can find a good trim material.

The greeblie is going to be my stumbling block, though.  I really want to nail that with a metal piece.  May have to custom commission something, but even getting good references is pretty tough, even with 4K source material.  It looks like they may have done something with the lock on top, too.  These are the best screen caps I managed of the top and side greeblies, although I intend to keep trying for better.

The side greeblie reminds me a bit of a cigar humidifier, now that I look at that again.  I'll have to dig around, else I may just commission a best effort piece.  Or 3D model something myself, in the short term.

I love it... but I'll admit I'm not entirely convinced it belongs in the CRL, though.  It's more a general prop than something specific to an Officer's uniform.  (Not saying I'm deadset against it, just that I'm not yet convinced)

If only they had cupholders on their belts, this would be a different story LOL

It does bring up an interesting idea of a CRL dedicated to onscreen props that are specifically allowed to be used on troops.  (Just because I know some garrisons are extremely particular about disallowing anything not in the CRL)

They're polyester the thread used for the cavarly twill weave is REALLY fine... if you try to iron it yourself, be SUPER careful and use a very low setting, so you don't melt anything.

Personally, I stick with a steamer.  You can get them extremely inexpensively on Amazon.  I think the little travel steamer I use, which doesn't take up much space at home, was maybe $20? (although maybe a little more now, between time passing and inflation, but still quite affordable and super handy to have available)

I think KeepTrooping only sells a three costume set, and don't do individual parts, which would make it pretty expensive for someone looking to keep costs to a bare minimum.  But yes, they DO make them (I actually intended to mention them briefly as well, so thanks for the reminder).

For Jim's costumes, the biggest single issue is the collar, which is just too tall.  Two inches is the MAX permitted under the CRL, and not appropriate for most.  And a number of actually shipped costumes have measured OVER 2", which is even worse. (and outside of CRL compliance... and those are not easy to fix after the fact)

I have some other nits to pick, but I don't want to *over* bash his uniforms, which overall are quite decent, especially for the money (and custom sizing!), but the collar thing is really annoying because it's instantly spottable in every photo.

I was surprised to see that you're right, none of the usual Cosplay shops seem to offer them in white anymore.  There are a few Halloween-grade ones (none of which have remotely approvable construction) but nothing to the level of the CosplaySky-esque versions.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) your least expensive option may be WampaWear, at this point (which is MUCH higher quality than CosplaySky-level tunics), or you could also look at Jim Tripon's Andor versions, although they have some issues of their own.  Jim's have the advantage of being custom made to your size, which is a serious benefit for many (especially the ladies, since WampaWear has not yet finalized their female costumes).  (I'd recommend asking for a shorter neck, for Jim's)

Little travel tripods that specifically work with cell phones can be found on Amazon for like $5, and they make a HUGE difference in how your photos come out, if you're trying to take photos alone.  The timer is definitely your friend.  Just set up a chair and pile boxes, books, etc., on top, or use a small ladder, even, to get the phone to the right height.  (If you don't have a tripod, else, duh, use that!)

Number one recommendation is to shoot things outside during the day, so there's lots of natural light.  (note: not necessarily high noon, which produces harsh black shadows)  The end of a hallway lit by one lamp is a terrible place to shoot.  Even low end cell phones these days can take semi-decent pictures, if you give them enough light.  Trying to shoot indoors under mediocre artificial light guarantees bad photos that will annoy your GML and just cause delays, since they'll have to ask you for better pictures so they can actually see detail anyway.
