Just wondering if anybody would be interested in purchasing screen-accurate Imperial scanning crew/bridge crew/officer headsets?
 
They will be made from metal components, with accurate boom mic tip and leather headpad. The headset is a costume prop and otherwise-non functional. A short lead with a 3.5mm jack is included, but is a dummy, and designed to be long enough to tuck into costume. The headset is the result of a lot of research and observation of the original props and their components.
 
If anyone is interested, I plan on producing short runs to order, and measured to your head and cap size. There will be two versions- the 'Crewman' design with aluminium spun earpieces, and silver mic tip, and the 'Veers' design with semigloss black earpieces and black mic tip. The cost will be £40 per headset, excluding delivery.

Having a go with one of these, a 300-piece poker chip case, and a real Rimowa handle, being prepared for paint here. I've yet to identify the silver widget on the side of the case. Looks to me as if it has an Imperial disc attached to it in screencaps.

It's simply two 2 inch by 4 inch rectangles of leather stuck together.

Finished article as used at Celebration. I'm keeping the real Rimowa handle for a larger case- found this look-alike handle which is slightly smaller, but looks the part. The widget is a plastic folding comb from a cracker with an Imperial code disc bolted through, and stainless hex screws fixing it to the case.

Bumping this back up, everyone. I've had trouble locating suitable headbands, but think I now have a solution. If anyone is still interested, I'll do a run.

OK chaps, I reckon I can make these finished for £28.00 GBP. UK post and packing will be £5.70. I'll work out the overseas shipping later.

Going to review my costs, guys (I have to get the mic tips custom printed now, and don't have a cost on that yet) but believe it or not, the paint costs more than the components! Although the paint does go further than one pair of headsets...… ;)
