451? Why that?
Okay it seems to be a lighter grey or maybe an olive tunic because the Officer in the background wears a normal grey tunic or?This reason some ANH uniforms are called "451" is because they were originally used in the production of the movie Fahrenheit 451.

I love these uniforms. Im really hoping more references can be found so this can be a reality. Great work!! Looking forward to seeing more

Hello Andrew,
Thank you for your question. Looking at your hat, unfortunately, I would not accept this for Executor or Imperator. The bias tape and the stitching are incorrect, and with it being L2/3, we are slowly expecting more and more from our officers.
Sorry for the unfortunately news.
-
Glad to see that the hat is complete. I will require you to retake your fully kitted up uniform to see how everything looks, however.
Cheers,
-
Hello Sherry,
Based on your pics, and assuming that you'll nicely press the hat and tack down the flaps, I think that this new hat will work out nicely. I'll just note that your side pic doesn't look very conical, but again, I think when you tack the flaps down, it'll hold its shape better and look appropriate.
Cheers,
-
Thats great to hear that you've made some really good progress on the hat during this time.
Could I request that you take front, back, and side pics of you wearing the hat (not with the code disk on or anything) just so I can see how the shape of the hat looks. I just want to make sure that the hat is conical. I suspect it is, but want to make sure. If it looks good on, then you should be good to go with finishing it.
Cheers,

The brim is way too big, and the flaps are often wrong (sometimes there is no overlap, sometimes they overlap in the wrong direction).
In short, do not get the CS hat. Even with a code disk swap, it wont get approved.

Hello Sherry,
You got a bit lucky and caught me when I had some free time to take a look at submission. Thank you for submitting your photos. I'm always impressed to see people make their own officer uniforms. I think that's great. However, before I can approve your submission, there is something that needs to be addressed:
- The hat you made does not appear to have the bias tape. I have attached photos below illustrating what I mean. As far as I know, all officer hats had a bias tape (however, I could be wrong). I feel this is a critical aesthetic look for officer hats, and will be required.
I'm sorry for the unfortunate news. However, if you decide to remake the hat, or if you can show me an officer who has a hat with no bias tape, I'd happily change my decision. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask me. Wish I had better news for you.
Cheers,

Just some updates with some details that I noticed:
The shoulder bells Moff Gideon wear are not the same. They're actually two different designs. You can probably see it best in this screenshot:
And second, the shoulder bells actually switch mid-scene. Compare the above pic with this one:
Oops. Continuity error... oh well.

Thank you for the post.
I'll move this back to the Active area, and one of our Deployment Officers will look at it shortly.

Love this costume. You've done a great job, Ellen. I think Bobby has some excellent points. I remember this costume has been proposed in the past, and that was more-or-less where we landed.
Good luck!

If I remember correctly, places like Imperial Boots and WampaWear do not do custom sizing. So those vendors may not be a viable option for you. However, if they're willing to make an exception, you can disregard this comment.
However, if they are not willing to do custom uniforms, you'll certainly have to go elsewhere. Uniforms need to be fitted to the wearer, and if it looks too long or too short, it is very likely it wont get approved.
CosplaySky (they appearently have a new website called TrendsInCosplay) is a cheaper option that does custom fitting and will get approved. There's a lot of threads out there that you can read regarding how to properly order from them to get the best uniform possible.
However, other than CS, you only other option will involve much more funds. Places like Magnoli Clothiers or Maz Cave (among many others) are always good options.

Digging a bit deeper, it seems like what Jeff had said might be overly simplistic. It was what I understood and told people as well, but in the strictest sense, perhaps incorrect. For ESB, it looks like Piett, Veers, and some of the other Officers had undyed edges on their belt, but curiously, not Ozzel??
Either way, any of those belts would be acceptable for basic approval. And for higher levels, if an applicant could demonstrate, say with a screenshot, that the officer they were replicating had a specific type belt, then I'd be ok with that

What differences? I'm not sure where they are specifically
The main difference between the "regular" or standard Imperial uniform (or Legends GA uniform) and the Rebels style Thrawn uniform is that there are U-shaped bell seams on the arm, the back doesnt have two bending princess seams, and there is no dart in the front. Also, there are the rank insignias on the collar which isnt present on the Legends Thrawn uniform, and the epaulets are different.

As its been about a week now since Episode 8 of the Mandalorian, I think its fair to post some pics from that episode. If you havent seen it yet, SPOILERS AHEAD!!! You've been warned!!
Back of the cape. Note the red seam running across his shoulders. Note the collar: could the back middle be where the opening of the collar be?
A full head to toe image of Moff Gideon. This really shows the edge of the tunic as a different color/material from the rest of the uniform.
Side angle of the armor and shoulder bells. Note the details on the shoulder bells, and the continuation of the red seam on the cape
Close up of the shoulder straps on the armor
Note the details on the gauntlet below the wrist. It looks to be a ribbed texture on it. Also, there appears to be "plates" or padding on the back of the hand and fingers.
Note the tunic below the collar. Doesn't appear to be a dart.
Image of the other shoulder bell. Also, note the collar. There appears to be no visible opening on the front, likely in the back (see above)
Close up of the gauntlet again. Really shows those unique features mentioned above. Also, a little look at the blaster
A surprisingly loose collar on Moff Gideon... Or maybe its just the angle of his head.
Another shot of the blaster. Also, note that there is a circumference seam here and what appears to be a seam running up the right side of the tunic.
Another look at the blaster and gauntlet.
Note the boots. Non-standard boots. Looks to be some sort of texture not seen before. I was wrong about it being FO boots. They're not. They're entirely different.
Another good shot of the seams on the tunic. Perhaps a double-breasted tunic?
Good shot of the red stripe on the sleeve.
You can see a red strip running up the sleeve
Close up of the boots. Best I could do. You can see the texture I am talking about here.

It seems that he has two belts (one for holster). And obi belt is red on the other side?
Good call. Here is a brightened picture that really highlights the belts.
The obi does seem to be a red or maroon color either on the underside or on the edge, with a dark brown coloration for the main body, and there appears to be a second belt underneath the obi holding the holster/blaster

To not hijack this thread, a seperate Moff Gideon CRL thread has been created here. Please head over to that thread to discuss any details you guys noticed

Hello All,
I thought Id start the ball rolling with regards to a potential future CRL for Moff Gideon. Regardless of whether he'll be IOC or JRS, the discussion will be useful. Please be warned, if you havent been keeping up with the Mandalorian TV show, there may be spoilers in this thread as a whole.
Below are a bunch of screen grabs of Moff Gideon I took and some features I've noticed:
^ boots look to have a flat sole on them, possibly meaning they were re-used FO officer boots?? Not 100% sure. Also, inside of cape is lined with red, and he is wearing fingerless TIE gauntlets
^Close up of the chest armor. Is a modified/simplified Veers-style officer chest armor with TIE chestbox style markings. Hard to tell if the grey and white rockers are actually real and raised or if theyre just for show. Red and white circles are slightly indented. There also appears to be two intents at the top-center of the armor
^ Full body shot. Also shows red lining of cape. Hard to see in all lighting, so you may need to adjust your monitor, but it appears as though the black uniform he wears underneath the armor has a trim of slightly different color or material than the "main" fabric. Also he is wearing an Obi(?) style belt with a metal disk in the center. You can kind of see it, but he also has a blaster.
^Just for fun, here is the concept art for Moff Gideon. I kinda wish they used the belt seen here, but thats just me personally. This can't be used for any real guidance in the construction of the CRL. Its just for fun.

I think Gideon belongs here. While he arrived in a TIE, he doesn't have anything TIE pilot specific, he doesn't run a TIE division or anything. To me it'd be like JRS claiming Darth Vader; sure he flies a TIE, but that's not his primary role.
My question is (because Emperor knows I need another costume), since it's a face character, will we have to look like Giancarlo Esposito? I love his outfit (LOVE IT) but I can't pull off the look.
I wonder that too. Usually with face characters, the most they require is facial features and hair to be similar. And eye color is under optional.
