My gut feeling is that Liam might be right. Downsizing a uniform should be relatively easy to do, but enlarging a uniform would likely result in seams that shouldnt be there, etc. Although, I will admit, I am no expert when it comes to sewing

Hello Fellow Officers,
I thought some of you would be interested in this for two reasons. The first, an excerpt of the new Thrawn book has been released. See link: https://www.starwars.com/news/thrawn-alliances-exclusive-excerpt
But also, there is some really cool art for this book
Enjoy!!!

I think it doesn't matter if it's a warmer country or not, being able to step out of the riding boots and into chelsea boots on a long day of trooping (ComicCon or so) is a relieve everywhere
So true. That's one big reason I love my Science Officer lol

We do have some officers in Calgary, but they're not always active on the forum. @pyrates is our Armand down there. He's also our GML.

There are a bunch of us in Calgary. It by far has the most members within a single city within the Badlands and probably has the most troops too. They also have armor parties every once in a while. I myself am in Edmonton and come down to Calgary for some of their big troops.
Best to join the Badlands forum and introduce yourself there if you havent already.

Hello Kalei,
I am currently on vacation, so it will take me some time to get around to looking at this submission. In the meantime, it would be most helpeful if you could post the pictures in the first post instead of linking to a Google drive link. I use an image hosting site called Imgur. To post a picture, you can then click Insert other media in the lower right corner, then click Insert image from URL. If you then copy the Image address from Imgur and paste it there, you can then post the images.
Thanks,
-
That looks so great, Ben!! Great work!!

Agreed. Can't see it, can't prove it, don't add it.

I actually found the reason for this a while back. I was looking through some old Star Wars RPG books, and in it were prefixes for all the different types of troopers. And listed for Officers was ID. What did it stand for? No idea. But I'm pretty sure that this was the inception of the title

Officially for the 501st, no. However, for regular cosplay that you just want to wear... Sure. But you'd never be able to wear it at 501st events

I don't necessarily agree. The way I read that crawl, that could be propaganda from Rebels. It's like real life, one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.
I also know the EU very well, and there's a theory out there that Palpatine made the Imperial war machine to combat the Yuuzhan Vong. Has the Empire done evil things? Yes. It could be argued that the Rebels did too.

And honestly, does it really matter where the AT-AT commander goes? You can do him regardless of which detachment he's in. However, future armored officers like Thrawn, Tarkin or Pryce should be ours

I would highly advice against getting Funtasma boots. They are approvable, but barely. They're very poorly made Halloween costume boots. If you need cheaper boots, PVC boots would be better

If you are indeed talking about R1 ISB, with the magnet idea, it is possible to use the same tunic for R1 ISB and a Grand Admiral.

Good luck!!

I have a fuzzy pic (but I won't post it here due to copyright) that would be very helpful. I can't find a good picture of it right now (might need to wait for the Blu ray) but about 44 min into the movie, there's a great shot of the black uniformed Service Dress with 6 blue tiles standing next to an olive green Service Dress. I can't tell if it's six amber of 5 amber and 1 red.

If a zipper is present on riding boots, it must be on the inside shaft.

Historically, CRLs had to be made according to visual references, and typically require at least 3 good pics with pictures showing the front, back and sides. Written answers from costume designers, etc could be used as supporting info, but not the main thing. So, based on that, I still think no hats. But that's just my two cents

Stirrups are amazing. They're so little work to put on, but they make the uniform look so much better.

This is quite amazing that he responded. This is good info. Thanks for that!!
Just my two cents, but I much prefer the name Service Dress to anything else so far.

Because this is a CRL discussion thread, just for completeness sake, I am posting the screenshots that I grabbed from the YouTube video here. I just hope these pics are enough to get this costume approved, either as a new CRL or lumped into an existing one.
I have brightened up the pics to try and get more detail, but its pretty hard.

Yup. The CRL says if only one is worn, wear it on the left side

Anyone crack the code on the green rank bars yet? Once I know those I'll happily take photos to try and make the green suit CRL happen.
Personally, I don't see the point of taking CRL pictures at this point because we haven't even completed the research phase of the CRL. Patricia and I have grabbed some pics from various clips and featurettes, but no one has really looked into the details of those pics. As you said, we haven't even identified the rank bar colors. A lot of the words in the Mess Dress CRL is just lifted from the Science officer.
And secondly, we haven't even gotten the LMO into the convo to discuss if the olive green uniform will be incorporated into the current Science Officer or be separated. Until all these are done, it's pointless to take CRL photos.

Hello Kalei,
I will be looking at this submission this week. There are some things I need to clarify first and then I will get back to you regarding this submission. Thank you for your patience.
