Again, my seamstress best friend came to the rescue. She thinks she can open the left side seam, and if it has sufficient seam allowance, pull it over the where the code cylinder pocket is. I'm suddenly grateful that I added a little to my measurements to ensure that the costume wouldn't be too small. That extra room may yet save me.

    Good to hear :)

Hopefully my experience will help you, Matthew.  I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Unfortunately Cosplay Sky got back to me to say they are already finished with my order and suggested a local tailor alter the yoke, so I am assuming that can be done (a seamstress friend looked at the pictures and said it should be easy to do).  However, I realized that in addition to the yoke, there's another difference between the Deluxe Officer as offered by Cosplay Sky and the ISB Officer - the code cylinder pocket.  The Officer has them, but an ISB Officer doesn't.  The CRL says so specifically.  My husband thinks that can be fixed, but I don't know.  I'm on the verge of emailing Cosplay Sky again and asking to just order another ISB tunic.

On the other hand, the Cosplay Sky Deluxe Officer does have the dart at the front neck and the princess seams in the back, so if you order the Deluxe Officer with a color change (and NO code cylinder pocket!) it might help the ISB Officer qualify for level two certification.  The princess seams are optional for standard approval, and the dart at the front neck isn't mentioned.

That kind of sucks :( sorry to hear that. Im sure that the yoke could be fixed (dont know how easy it would be), but I didnt realize that ISB officers dont have code cylinder pockets. Dont know how easy itll be to fix that...

Amber is once again easy to source, as long as you order from Mouser.  It's just a shame we don't have the correct ones from Newark anymore, as that was easy one stop shopping.

Ah excellent!! I was wondering about a source for the amber ones. Thanks kman!!

Maybe someone else has already covered this in this topic, but unless they've updated it, you DON'T want to buy their ISB uniform-- You want to buy the Deluxe uniform as it comes with all the 501st-specific stitching and whatnot, then specify in the custom orders that you want it in ISB colors (Cream top, black pants). AS FAR AS I KNOW they haven't updated their other uniforms with the deluxe stitching, though the pricetag might suggest they had.

Normally Id recommend the same thing, but the ISB uniform isnt the same as other officer tunics. The yoke doesnt close on the shoulder, but comes straight across.

I just read the CosplaySky info thread again:

The ISB uniform they offer seems to be okay (at least at the time of making the thread), but some have gotten the wrong shape of the yoke. Send CosplaySky pictures of how the yoke should look like, and hopefully they follow that.

  5. Hello Everyone!!

As Ive been waiting impatiently for my jodphurs to arrive from CosplaySky, and because Ive always had a similar interest to model-building, I decided to try out some of the Star Wars Revell SnapTite models (http://www.revell.com/model-kits/entertainment/starwars.html). Ive made some before, mostly TIEs, Imperial Shuttle, X-Wings, Y-Wings, etc. I love the starfighters and starships of Star Wars, and when I learned that they finally released the Imperial-class Star Destroyer (http://www.revell.com/model-kits/entertainment/85-1638.html) and the AT-ACT Walker (http://www.revell.com/model-kits/entertainment/85-1636.html#.WK5A3DvyuUk), I basically flipped out and nearly fell out of my chair. As such, here are some pictures of the results

Overall, these models are amazing!! The engines for the Star Destroyer light up, and the head of the AT-ACT Walker also lights up. Similarly, the recently released models also have lights :) these are amazing models that go well with any collection

Mark noted that the CRL will be modified - in the original text there was no mention of any attachment methods, in the CRL discussion thread multiple attachment ideas were floated, snaps, hooks, magnets, etc.  The only notation was it must be fitted to the Tunic - if that is done properly, very little attachment is actually needed because of the shape of it, it will sit properly on your shoulders - the attachment is more to keep it from being blown off in a strong wing, pulled off by catching on/under something or being pulled on by a child or someone else, or falling off if you were to turn suddenly and shift it.

Awesome. Thanks James :) Ill be eagerly following the updates to come on the CRL.

Belt is good enough for L1 don't worry , you'll just need the grooves in the leather for L2 and L3 , possibly a more accurate greeblie too , although the CRL doesn't yet states the the greeblie is different from the OT code cylinders .

Cosplaysky uses poly-twill i think , a synthetic based fabric , but it has always been cleared so far , i don't see why it shouldn't be now . Technically OT Officers also have tunics made of wool gabardine :)

I had the same questions. Good to hear :)

Uh, yeah...   I have 6 on mine and I'm 6'6".  12 is overkill to the extreme.

    Agreed.

Actually, the more I think about this the less i like it - I get that this is how the model had his tunic, and if it works for him, great - but ESPECIALLY if they cannot be seen, why does it matter how many there are?  I thought it was about looking screen accurate, not making costume designers stand on their heads?

This is what Ive been wondering too. I was surprised to see the number of snaps explicitly stated. Just an off hand thought, but are snaps actually required? If you can attach the cloak by another means that is equally well hidden and secure, could this also be allowed?

Also are costumes from this company called Cosplaysky.com are the 501 approved? they claim this on their site. Just want to make sure .

Wow!! Maybe this is the first time in a while that the grey uniform will be useful!!

I asked CS about my olive green uniform, and I think this also applies for their grey one too, but I think they make their uniforms the same as the Deluxe. That is, if this is the one you are talking about: http://cosplaysky.ca/star-wars-imperial-officer-grey-costume-uniform.html

But, as always, shoot CS an email asking them first. Its always better to be safe than sorry.
