The thing there is there is no generic Grand Moff only Tarkin and you would have to match the CRL for that

Yikes!! I was wondering that myself. I was going to do a Grand Moff, but I look nothing like Tarkin :-( I still want to do a line officer at some point. Perhaps Grand General. I'm wondering if I would need a hat for a Grand General? Tagge never had one.

  2. Hey Steve!! Looks pretty good!! One thing to note is that the Rebels-era Grand Admiral should have straight pants, not jodhpurs. Also there are slight differences in the design of the belt buckle (its not the typical officer buckle). And last, the collar will need to close fully.

You should check out the discussion on the Rebels-era Thrawn here:

As of right now, there is no official Rebels-era GA, and there are a lot of differences from the Legends one. People are currently working on all the details for the CRL, but it is not currently up. Until a CRL is up for it, you wont be able to join the 501st until it is, unless you make a CRL yourself!!

    Great job so far though!!

    Hi all,

I'm just joining up here.  I'm a member of Central Garrison in MN.

My question; Must a Grand Admiral be Thrawn in order to be approved, or can it be approved as a generic officer?  I am working on a full Thrawn, but I'd like to be able to have the choice to go w/o makeup at times.  I debuted the uniform at last weekends Saber Legion tournament, and it was very well received.

Welcome Steve!! Glad to hear that another wants to join the Circle of Grand Admirals here at the IOC!! You do not need to be Thrawn to have an approved Grand Admiral uniform. There is a generic (Legends) Grand Admiral CRL available. I believe some are currently working on a Rebels-era Grand Admiral uniform as well, as there are notable differences between the two.

Anyone here having problems with cosplaysky getting back to them with emails. I ordered a custom uniform and it arrived on Jan 13 and its  huge. They told me to send them pictures of the outfit of waht was big on it and no word back from them since the 19th of Jan. Any suggestions of what to do next? I've emailed them several times and NO Responds at all.

They still might be on holiday. Id wait until Feb 4 to contact them again. That's what Im going to do. On Feb 4 Im going to email both the CAN and US sites at the same time to sort my costume out.

  5. For rank bars, TiggWolf (look them up either here on the forums or on Facebook) is probably your best bet. I have one of theirs, and its awesome!!

For code cylinders, perhaps look up PhiloProps. Look him up here on the forums or on Etsy. If you are a bit more daring, you can try making your own code cylinders using Strongbow's tutorial. Im giving that tutorial a try. Doesnt seem too hard. If I fail, Ill buy a pair of Philo's.

  6. I just checked ProCosplay (Ive never heard of them before), and they have moderate reviews, so at least they arent a scam. I might be blind, but the officer uniform doesnt seem to have a dart at the center of the tunic and the side darts. I can't really tell.

Regardless of any problems that Ive had with my CosplaySky uniform, I would still strongly recommend going with them for a cheap and approved (or able to be approved) costume. Most of the recent problems have simply because of bad timing. Its Chinese New Years, so everyone in CS are on holidays, but will be back to work on Feb 4. My recommendation is to just stick with CS and be patient.

In today's political and social climate I would be hesitant to wear something like that out. Those look an awful lot like some of the hats the little nazis are wearing. Without context, ie. the full uniform, it could be an easy mistake for someone who isn't a Star Wars fan.  Just my two cents.

    I thought the same thing....

I am both 181st and officer, so i've been thinking about doing a dress uniform myself. I believe the olive line officer uniform will serve your purpose; I hope you are good at hand sewing because I just finished adding blood stripes to the sleeves of a flight jacket and let me tell you, hand sewing inside sleeves is a bear. But it sure beats taking a garment apart just to use the machine now doesn't it?

I thought that maybe Id use double-sided fabric adhesive tape/strips to attach the blood stripe. Itd be a lot easier than hand sewing in a sleeve.

    Something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Aleenes-29134-Fabric-Fusion-Tape/dp/B005572IKS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485494816&sr=8-1&keywords=Aleene's+29134+Fabric+Fusion+Tape

I don't think they're actually on the website.  And they were called something funky, if I recall.  Took quite a while for the guy who worked there to actually find them, at my Lowe's, but they did.  I bought two, so I'll see if I can find out what the package says when I get home, if I remember.

Thanks kman!! I really appreciate it. I might check out the actual store then to see if they have it. If not, Metals Supermarkets will definitely have it.
