DarthFunk83 got a reaction from Theblueguy808 in Meaning of the Prefix "ID"
I actually found the reason for this a while back. I was looking through some old Star Wars RPG books, and in it were prefixes for all the different types of troopers. And listed for Officers was ID. What did it stand for? No idea. But I'm pretty sure that this was the inception of the title

Officially for the 501st, no. However, for regular cosplay that you just want to wear... Sure. But you'd never be able to wear it at 501st events

DarthFunk83 got a reaction from Duchessina in Was the empire really evil ?
I don't necessarily agree. The way I read that crawl, that could be propaganda from Rebels. It's like real life, one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.
I also know the EU very well, and there's a theory out there that Palpatine made the Imperial war machine to combat the Yuuzhan Vong. Has the Empire done evil things? Yes. It could be argued that the Rebels did too.

And honestly, does it really matter where the AT-AT commander goes? You can do him regardless of which detachment he's in. However, future armored officers like Thrawn, Tarkin or Pryce should be ours

DarthFunk83 got a reaction from Theresnoway1 in Stirrups
Stirrups are amazing. They're so little work to put on, but they make the uniform look so much better.

DarthFunk83 got a reaction from charlyselo in Line/Staff Officer Service Dress, proposal.
Historically, CRLs had to be made according to visual references, and typically require at least 3 good pics with pictures showing the front, back and sides. Written answers from costume designers, etc could be used as supporting info, but not the main thing. So, based on that, I still think no hats. But that's just my two cents

This is quite amazing that he responded. This is good info. Thanks for that!!
Just my two cents, but I much prefer the name Service Dress to anything else so far.

DarthFunk83 reacted to bobafett4ever in Line/Staff Officer Service Dress, proposal.
Hello again. Some more great news from one of the costume designers, David Crossman. I asked him specifically about this type of outfit, and he stated the below...
I confirmed this the case for ISB, Staff, and Line. All can wear this 'semi formal dress' and the hat is optional and they can ALL wear the single cuff collarless shirt. And, rank doesn't matter.
I hope this helps. I am just flabbergasted that he actually responds to me. I've corresponded with him 3 times now (and he's responded quickly) and I told him I wouldn't bombard him anymore with questions... but it's so hard not to, lol. He seems very friendly and open to the questions. It was funny because I emailed someone else and they just happened to know Mr. Crossman and put me in touch with him. I didn't think he'd even respond once, but he has and it's pretty cool.
For fun, the rest of the conversation was about fleet troopers (which is what well call all the Navy Troopers it seems).

Yup. The CRL says if only one is worn, wear it on the left side

DarthFunk83 got a reaction from trencher in Solo - and new uniforms!
I think keeping it seperate would be better, but I'm biased Right now, the Science officer does require the dress shirt underneath, which is obvious in both the movie and VD. It's unclear if the ones in Solo wear dress shirts underneath. Science officer and Mess Dress are also very different roles, so I think keeping them seperate would be better. My two cents

That's a pretty good idea to me. I also like the idea that at least for basic, any single bar rank bar would be acceptable. Higher levels, as always, would require replication of an on screen officer.

Looking good!! To add to Mark's comment, it's always a good idea to add stirrups to your jodhpurs. This will prevent bunching when you put your boots on.

DarthFunk83 got a reaction from Theresnoway1 in Switching to warrant officer rotj from anh staff officer
That's totally cool!! One great thing with the Staff/Warrant officers is that they're so interchangeable. A friend of mine actually said he liked getting cleared as a Warrant Officer as well as a Staff because if he ever went to a troop and forgot his rank bar or code cylinders, he'd just troop as a Warrant Officer.
Good luck with your build!!

Fair enough, Robert. Sorry to hear this.
If you ever want to revisit your submission, we can start the process again.
