GDMorti reacted to rattleandburn in Excerpt from Thrawn: Alliances
I would guess since just in that excerpt Palpatine made a jab about Thrawn being near his home, that it would open up a possibility for a reunion with Eli and maybe a little help from the CEDF if they get into trouble (since it seems they're just taking the Chimaera, not the whole fleet?)

[Spoilers from the excerpt]
Atollon is the planet with the Bendu in Season 3, which I assume is the creature that's mentioned. That said, it sounds like this'll have to be after the S3 finale, and obviously before the end of Rebels. Batuu hasn't been explored yet, but it is an Outer Rim planet that the new Galaxy's Edge park is supposedly going to be based on.
I'm really excited at the prospect of the Thrawn - Anakin encounter in flashbacks, as well as them going out towards the Unknown Regions!
All I want is Eli to be mentioned at least one (1) time honestly.

GDMorti got a reaction from Tentayena in Some good old fashioned imperial propaganda
I saw rank bars referred to somewhere as Jolly Ranchers and I can't unsee it XD

Hmmmmm...
It ties in a HECK of a lot more with Rebels, which.. makes sense. I've just got a really bad memory so I think I'm going to be wookiepedia-ing a lot to remind myself of this planet or that battle. XD

GDMorti got a reaction from Paggeldiwwer in Propose on TFA: Admiral
Only issue there is we already have a generic FO General CRL.
If the generic General isn't Hux's uniform, then the entire generic FO General as we know it, needs completely reworking?

I think first port of call is seeing if we get any clarity on the rank? If they're both Admiral then yeah we can just allow both? No need for any separate configurations, since we don't see anything different in TFA (since we barely see any of them at all).
Suggestion:
Move forward with a black wrap-over uniform with the pointed pants. First Order Admiral. Allow both of the rank bars. If we find out later that the TLJ version with no red on his rank bars is a different rank, we just amend the rank bar information and title of the CRL (if possible?) so that it's like the Lieutenant/Captain and Colonel/Major where the only difference is a rank bar.

Yeah, I think that is a far greater issue than potentially having to amend rank bar info later on, in one CRL.
I really want to see this CRL out soon, and without getting any LFL clarification imo the logical course of action would be to allow both rank bars under the title that has already, officially, been applied to the uniform in TFA

There's an other one walking through the Supremacy:
At first I thought that's a new rank like Commodore or so, but now I#d also say they changed the Admiral into this rankbar-style for TLJ. Maybe the TFA-style can be an option as we know they exist.

GDMorti got a reaction from Tentayena in The origins of names and ranks for Imperial Officers
I dare say this came along with the introduction of a lore keeper in Pablo Hidalgo, and all the visual dictionaries etc. I don't know when "loremaster" was something LFL cared about, or when the assigning of names to EVERYONE became a thing? Probably when they realised they probably needed to put their approved stamp on everything well in advance, so that all the people merchandising were singing from the same hymn-sheet with no open doors for people to make up their own lore/name things that weren't specifically their IP?

GDMorti got a reaction from Tentayena in Do they Salute in the Star Wars universe?
I mean.... -technically- the First Order salute is a fist raised vertically in the air, rather than a flat palm pointed away from yourself diagonally.
But like, try doing that in a First Order officer's uniform and you'll be in trouble.
How possible is it to even perform that salute, with your arm that straight and high, in an FOTK??? FOTK's cant even dab properly. Don't ask me how I know this.

GDMorti got a reaction from Tentayena in Admiral Versio - Battlefront 2
A sort of "details" gallery or links to specific areas of the costumes that have a very specific required look would be amazing, and super helpful!
And returning to the terminology etc for CRL's @Exaldear you say that the inclusion of techniques would cause you to switch off, however my proposal is that the laymans term is -always- included first as a visual descriptor of what you need to be aiming to replicate. Then, if a technical term exists, it would be included in brackets as an expansion on that information. It wouldn't be more than a couple of extra words. A layman or someone who has no interest in searching the term or learning what the technical term means doesn't have to do any extra work, yet the information is there for those who want that little bit more?

Unsure how making it as clear as possible, ensuring you're capturing the layman term and the technical, is not making it accessible for as many people as possible? Simple isn't always the best way forward.
BUT! I'm not an LMO and was merely voicing my thoughts.
