If the uniform will not work for Rogue One, I have already purchased a second set of belt boxes for a ROTJ warrant officer.  I feel the same way about ANH accessories on mine now.

I am a huge fan of the staff officer uniform, and the 451 in particular.  I completely agree with the creation of a new CRL to illustrate its dramatic differences from the other (few) staff officer uniform examples in the films.
 
However, with the only ready-to-wear examples costing upwards of $1300, the number of ANH staff officers will be in the range of the number of Darth Vaders (probably less).  It would be nice if a good quality 451 pattern can be passed on to Cosplaysky for a low-cost uniform alternative, particularly for those using the staff officer uniform as an entry point to the 501st.

I'm hitting the premier tonight here in Germany, and then joining my German Garrison comrades at a Mainz theater this weekend.

Just received word of the passing of John Mollo, the costume designer of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, ALIEN and a bunch of other movies.  The word came from the owner of Starwarshelmets.com on the RPF.

John Mollo created the costumes we wear here, most of all, the imperial officer uniform.  He was the formost authority on European Military Fashions of the last 500 years and could tell you not just the configuration of the uniforms, but the purpose behind them.  He wrote the definitive text on the subject.  He will be deeply deeply missed.
 

 

My German engineer boots arrived from Sportsman's Guide, and I am very pleased.  They say they are 'used', but mine were in great shape.  They split the difference between the top of my foot and my knee, and looking at some scenes in ANH, look to be perfect for trooper or Tie pilot.  I ordered size 13D, and even with my narrow foot, they fit well with athletic socks.  They have a great, thick (not too thick) rubber sole, which will be very comfortable during a long troop on concrete.  The leather is relatively smooth on the 'shoe' portion, and the shafts are pebbled.
 
If you can get them in your size, I highly recommend them.

The Hessen ones do sound like the best from what people have said but also a lot more expensive and although I don't necessarily mind spending that kind of money at some point, I felt it best to go with those ones I saw on e-bay as my first pair and by doing that I think I will know more what I am doing if I decide to upgrade at some point.
 
The ones I got on e-bay have inside pulls to get them on. I have never worn boots like this so it might take some getting used to. My only other boots that don't have zippers are my rain boots.

I purchased the Hessen Antique riding boots, and they are great.  I have a very long, very narrow foot, and they fit like a champ.  I will never wear my Russian officer boots again.
 
I also recommend a boot pull with handles to get riding boots on, and a boot puller or boot jack to get them off.  Type in the terms on Amazon, and you will find them. 

I recently received a CosplaySky staff officer uniform using custom measurements and they were spot-on.  I literally did not have to do anything to it for a good fit.
 
Of course, I haven't been approved yet, but...
