  1. I have to second the Endura liquid recommendation!!
I used to use ben nye as my go to body paint, but even after sealing, I would just be so afraid it would rub off on my costume or other things. Never had that worry with endura, and it doesn't upset my skin as much either. It does take a bit more time to apply, but I do think it goes on more cleanly in the end and looks better overall.

I also use a bit of darker endura (mixing a small bit of dark blue in with my base color) and the nyx eye shadow for contour. This is VERY important, since painting your face all one color will make you look very flat if you don't contour at least a bit.  Also you can make yourself have cheekbones for days, which I enjoy so much.

LOL! Very nice! A friend of mine is trying to get me to do Thrawn, but I am hesitant because of all the blue make up mixed with the white clothing. Suggestions?

I know Vanya linked her list above and this is on there, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about Endura

Since it's alcohol activated, it BARELY budges after you seal it and the colors/coverage is awesome
It is a bit more on the expensive side, but I've never worries about it rubbing/sweating off at troops or getting on anything it isn't supposed to

  3. My line officer was my first approved costume, but I had been working on my FO lieutenant for so much longer, so I'm gonna talk about that one instead.

I originally REALLY wanted to be Hux.

Loved the character, loved the big coat, and we have a good handful of Kylos in my area so I thought it would be fun. Got the process started, paid for the costumento be made, and one day decided to do a makeup test.

It took me 3 hours to get my eyebrows to be anywhere light enough to be ginger.

So that kind of put a damper on things because ain't nobody got time for that. And at the time the generic general CRL didn't exist. It was Hux or nothing

Then a friend of mine and I watched TFA together and she suggested the LT. After all, I looked a lot like Mitaka already and our mannerisms were very similar. So that kicked off several months of pouring research into a costume that was on screen for maybe 3 minutes total. And I loved it. Loved every second of it. I made dear friends and learned so much about costuming while putting this together, and it was just an incredible experience all around.

And when I got to put the completed costume on for the first time, it just felt right. In a way that none of my other approved costumes ever have. I love how it looks and how I feel in it, and it makes me proud.

It wasn't an easy process by any means, but the results were more than I could have ever hoped for. And it was all for a background character that no one remembers, but I love him all the same.

Yeah, I was really disappointed not to find your data pad, because it's a relatively easy build and a fun prop to carry!  The big bulky one is really cool but that would be a much more difficult build. :(

Is there any reason we wouldn't be able to carry one?
Even if it's not in the CRL, I know people often bring props to troops, like little fun costumes for the troopers, or I know a few officers carry batons!

I mean obviously it depends on how formal the troop is, but it seems like a reasonable prop to take to some of the more low key ones c:

Also you can use it for troop pictures!!

    Here we go!

It's saved my life several times with writing and getting things straight
The same person also put together this AWESOME timeline for the events of the book and how they interact with the rest of the canon

However since it basically tells the whole plot of the book, I'm just gonna leave it as a link here and keep spoilers at a minimum for people who haven't read it yet

I for one blame Ensign Vanto.

Seriously though, I've STRUGGLED with a lot of StarWars lit in the past. I really want to choke my way through Aftermath because of obvious ginger reasons, however thin on the ground they are, but its just such a bloody chew to read? It's so clunky? Thrawn just read like an absolute DREAM with minimal "you must be this much Star Wars to ride".

I need to get off my ass and finish the Heir trilogy... I'm super hyped for Alliance though and really jealous that you'll all get fancy B&N hardback covers as usual. :C

Eli Vanto is perfect and has never done one thing wrong in his whole life.

I feel that though. I tried to get through the Aftermath series and i STRUGGLED. Ended up just skipping to the last one, which actually worked better than expected. Whereas Thrawn just FLEW. I think the plane ride to Celeb helped though lol

More than willing to send you a copy if you need!! The B&N cover was my fav out of all of them tbh

I don't even think I've cracked the spine of my Celebration copy of Thrawn. I went and bought a regular copy to actually read. XD Fancy special edition Thrawn is safely tucked away on a bookshelf somewhere to likely never bee touched again.
Action figures and toys I'll open and mess around with. Books? Books are serious business!

I cracked it enough to swap the book jackets of the B&N and the celebration one
Because I kept getting unnerved by the celebration one staring at me from my bookshelf

But i have one perfect signed celeb copy, my normal one to drag around, the one that has the celeb book jacket that I hid under more books, and the audiobook......

I'll direct this to the LMO and we'll find out a definite answer.

In the mean time, you can have your GML post in the GML section and we can give you a stamp of approval.

    Sounds great!!
I'm not quite ready for submission, but I'll let them know once I am.

    Thank you!

  9. I’m kind of unsure if this is in the correct spot, but none of the forum subtopics seemed to really fit this issue.

I’m beginning work on Rebels Thrawn and while researching the CRL, I noticed that while the CRL is live, it’s marked as a WIP and states that it can’t be approved by local GML’s.

I did a little more research and saw that the First Order Major CRL is marked the same.

    So, my questions are:

    1. Is this CRL currently still a WIP?

    2. If the CRL is still a WIP, who would one speak to to get approved? Based on stats on the Legion forums, there are currently 4 approved Rebels Thrawn costumes and 2 approved majors, so they’re getting in somehow and I would very much like to join them!

    Thanks so much!
