LTCAlex got a reaction from RedneckRednick in Line Officer uniform seller
Вітаю! Welcome aboard! I'm no judge but that does look good to me. I'll wait for someone much better at this than I am to comment, but I do love seeing more Ukrainians. Even though I'm Canadian I'm of Ukrainian descent!

LTCAlex reacted to charlyselo in Line/Staff Rain Poncho by charlyselo
Actually I'm making ponchos for some officers from Spanish Garrison. I didn't offer it here because I don't have all the time that I want, but maybe in a nearly future -

LTCAlex got a reaction from AngelFelix in The Clone Army
My understanding is that it was part of Palpatine's "long con" with the end goal being an army he could directly control, hence all of the "backroom dealings" and secrecy involved with the creation of the Clone Army. He manufactured a war with the Separatists to justify the creation of the army in the future when it was discovered he'd done all of that, and played the propaganda cards right in the Senate to get approval, despite the disapproval fomenting within the Republic.

LTCAlex reacted to CalofhouseThrawn in Some good old fashioned imperial propaganda
It’s of no surprise of course that the “help the weak” notion of the rebellion is further exemplified by rank bars based on medicine to help the weak.
Pathetic!
Join the Empire! You will not be made to coddle the weak! Only the Strong and Intelligent will advance in our lord, The Emperor’s Navy.

LTCAlex got a reaction from xAlpha in Eyeglasses
I've only ever taken my glasses off for approval pictures. Otherwise I've worn them the whole time at troops. Then again, I'm not aiming for "face character", just "generic character", so that might be a factor for some costumes. I'm far too afraid to try wearing contacts and I'm too broke for laser eye (and rather afraid of the risks) so...glasses it is.

LTCAlex got a reaction from WhiteWalker in Director Who??
According to the Doctor, it's not the TARDIS, it's one's mind. Books give you ammunition.
He tends to let enemies give themselves enough rope and then the rest is history. Kind of like what Jyn Erso did to Director Krennic, with a little nudge from her and her team of course. Well, more than a little nudge I suppose...

Went to a troop on Friday for Micheal Giacchino's 50th birthday a great night where I and my fellow Troopers got to hang with Gareth Edwards for a bit, we talked to him regards Rogue one, Adam Savage presented the show and at one point wore an Anovos Krennic.

LTCAlex reacted to Steven in Imperial Officer Baton
Hello all!
Two weeks ago I started a new building project of an officer accessory for my Grand Admiral - a Grand Admirals Baton.
The baton, not to confuse with a swagger stick, was or is a rank insignia for the highest officers of the Army or Navy for representative use. In old days this was, among others, used by the French Marshals or the Austrian Archduke.
For example:
Austrian Archduke Baton
Prussian Batons
So I thought I make one of these for my Grand Admiral. I make it out of Wood and it will be later painted with a shiny coating of White and Gold.
First thing I did was cutting the wooden rod to a proper length and then drawing the ornaments and writing on it.
On two opposite sides I'm going to engrave our motto "duty honor empire" in Aurebesh letters, this will be flanked by the Imperial Sign:
Between these two there will be the ID Number and Nickname engraved, in Aurebesh Letters too of course, and again with the Imperial Sign:
On the second pic you see the first try of the Imperial Sign in Gold and I'm very happy with it. In total I will need 9 of the smaller signs in Gold.
At the tips of the baton will be two octagons that are also crested with the Imperial Sign:
The colours of the baton will be mirror-inverted, so White base means golden Ornament, golden base means White Ornament.
I also want to make two more batons, for the Grand General and the Grand Moff Rank. I plan to do the Grand Generals Baton with some sort of IOC green colour and silver ornaments and the Grand Moff Baton with Grey and something else, I have not yet decided.
Work is going slowly forward, because I have not so much time, but I will keep this thread updated.
Greetings
Stefan

LTCAlex reacted to PArmstr in screen-used Imperial line officer tunic from LFL
Many people try to use the McCall's M 4745 Civil War pattern for the tunic. I don't recommend it because the shoulders of the sleeve are weird. The instructions are also a little bit difficult to follow.
https://mccallpattern.mccall.com/product-search?ref=M4745
Some people use the Butterick B6340 pattern for the jodhpurs trousers.
https://butterick.mccall.com/b6340
I suggest using Hawk's pattern from the forum for the tunic.

If you want to use the McCall's M4745 pattern as a base I recommend following Char Tozard steps. He did a very good job with his uniform.
