IronRanger88 got a reaction from buckrogersbarker in Wampa Wear VS Tigg wolf Belts
I'm sure this has been done, but I wanted to show you a quick July 2017 quality check on some belt suppliers. I recently bought a belt from our beloved TiggWolf from Facebook. Then my wife finished her Line officer and needed a belt. Because TiggWolf took almost 3 months to ship, I went with Wampa Wear. Got here in 10 days. Here are the differences.
Right off the bat, the Wampa (LEFT) is shiny. It's heavy and coated in something resembling chrome. The TiggWolf is brushed sheet metal.
Wampa has the greeblie screwed in on the back, where as Tigg must be glued? Wampa is also branded
Wampa is heavy and thick. Tigg is light and thin. Not a huge difference, but... There is a huge difference.
Tigg has a small metal piece to secure the belt, The bar that holds the belt to the buck;e is the same diameter.

Wampa is a belt pin and cast belt bar.
Wampa uses a snap, very large in front, good hold, no problems.
Tigg has a screw. I had to grind the screw and nut pin about an 1/8 of an inch to make it tight. It works well now, but it was not very good quality control on their part.
Wampa is using a soft leather. they have used a press roller to put their lines in. They have also branded theirs on the inside and you can see it pressed through the outside. Tigg has used a high quality belt leather and cut in the detail lines. You can barley tell the detail in the Wampa because of the soft leather and roller press method (it will fade over time)
Wampa on top. Tigg on bottom. The die Tigg used was very fresh and was not sealed. I had to seal it myself or it would have rubbed off on my uniform.

Overall, I had to do some work to Tiggs Belt to make it work, but it's a good belt. light and doesn't get heavy or droop. Tiggs is Raw material that I'm comfortable screwing around with to fix, but I was very disappointed that I had to do anything to it with the price I paid and the length of time I had to wait.

Wampa was only $5 more for the set. Very nice in the box. obviously came from china, but they had it in stock so the shipping was fast.

Do your research before buying anything, but I hope this helps!
