Know your setting.  Any game/comic/scifi convention will know who you are.  And the only place where this would be a problem is if you were trooping in public and who troops alone in an imperial officer uniform in public?

I can't think of a situation where this would be a problem.

Exactly, by worring about it just gives them strength , we have to politely inform them. After all everyone knows star wars to some degree .

The people that would get offended by us wearing this uniform are the type that would see nazis under their bed.  Everywhere they look are nazis.  We should be on guard, but we cannot accommodate the uniformed or the simple minded with our absence.  

I like that, that's  a good one. 

The alarming part for me would be someone calling me a Cosplayer

Greetings fellow Officers, Navy Troopers and Imperial Crewmen. I don't know if it will be useful, but I want to show you how I Have painted my sidearm.
 
The blaster itself has been made by my fellow Garrison member Andrea () with 3D printing; he will provide you with a complete product, but I prefer to paint it by myself.
 
so here is what you need: an airbrush, an airbrush primer, some acrylic paints and a small sponge.
 
1) airbrushing the primer onto the weapon ( I use grey primer, but you can use a black one)
 
2) using the airbrush I have paint the weapon black, except the muzzle 
 
3) using the airbrush I have paint the muzzle with a metallic colour 
 
4) now I have put some colour on the sponge and gently dabbing the entire weapon. Dark metal on the black, and a bright silver colour on the metallic muzzle.
 
this is the final result. Remember to add some Matt varnish or some other Matt protective transparent paint to your prop, in order to protect the paintjob..
 

 
 
Plain and simple. You can use a spray colour for painting the black, or paint it with a normal brush, but I prefer the airbrush.
 
 
 
 

Hello everyone,  I hope everyone is having a great day. It's just my opinion but I personally think the most underrated imperial officer has to be Daine Jir. Everyone remembers his lines during the capture of princess leia. His commanding presence event standing next to Vader. ( not to mention, not having any fear or voicing his opinions. Something senior officers had trouble doing ). Yet, that's it. No mention of what of what ever happened to him. I know he was referenced in the death star book, but the character was never expanded. I think someone should write a book with him as the main character.  (Yes, that's a suggestion to all you writer's out there). Well that's my opinion, just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I just wanted to share with everyone a product I found. 
I have a pair of real German knobelbeckers and the calves were uncomfortably snug, even with the adjustment strap completely unhooked. 
The top of the foot was a little snug too. I found this shoe stretching spray on Amazon that had really good reviews. So I tried it. 
You simply spray it on in the inside of the boot and wear the boots. I walked around the house for a couple hours and low a behold they were stretched out to to a very comfortable size. I couldn't buckle up the strap before and now I could get two holes. I'm going to do it again tomorrow with heavier socks to stretch them a bit more. 
I will post a picture of the product I got on Amazon below. It was like $9 and something if your wondering the price.

I guess I'm an old timer. My father took me to see the original showing. As a young boy i didn't stand a chance. Right from the beginning of the movie i was hooked. Between seeing that star destroyer which looked like it was never going to end flying across the big screen. Too the stormtroopers blasting their way in. I thought , this is the best movie ever, and all these years later I still do.

Its funny, I recently watched ANH and thought that the staff officer in the beginning of the movie (Daine Jir) was pretty ballsy when he talked to Vader... Definitely an underrated character...
