The IOC is helping us. We can try to get help from special ops also. But for the time being the discussions in Special Ops is more about the creation of an Army Detachment. The same kind of discussion we are having in Legion Council. Or at least I didn't found the topic for building up the army trooper from Andor (if I missed it, my apologies).

Here we have a thread with at least 3 people interested in doing the army trooper. I have talked with a friend from the Spanish Garrison and IOC, that is also interested. My view is that we should coordinate and help ourselves the best we can over here, and then once we start to build things in the future, we can start to discuss about who will support us for the CRL. Maybe opening up a thread in the central forum will help also to gather more people. Or getting one thread open at Special Ops to coordinate also over there. I don't know. But honestly, for the time being and since I'm more used to this forum, I will remain here.

For the time being, and with ZERO experience in doing a new CRL, I will say that the list to get the build going is:
Find a suitable close enough fabric Get enough references to lay out the scheme of the uniform->Propose the schematics for discussion Get enough references for the accessories of the uniform->Propose accessories Get enough references for the armor uniform->Propose armor Also thanks a lot to @Fraserab for your help. It is just amazing for me to have the possibility of having someone like you helping us out.
@Bubuc44 we'll keep talking about the fabric with Angelica, since I believe the first option she showed us might work.
On my part I'll try to get more screen references and put them in a folder I can share with you all.
EDIT: Here a google picture album to share a few references I have been tacking out from IOC threads and scrennshots.->https://photos.app.goo.gl/mTTxFfWFk8ucffj48
Thanks a lot for all your help here.

Hey guys, I was lucky enough to wear the uniform on set and now the episode aired today I'm probably a little more free to talk about it.

It was more like a stretch denim, will try get some example pictures of closeups to be used at somepoint.

I'm at work just now but will post up more information later, currently just enjoying the fact I was onscreen in Star Wars

I have been told by one of the actors on the show that the material for the enlisted troopers is a kind of a denim.  I'll see if we can draw him out to speak here.  He is also an IOC member.

The visuals should be enough to start the crl! Everything of importance is clearly visible, even the back. Should not be another "Sith Fleet Officer"...

Three kinds of fabric i found rather quickly. I think we should use a VERY heayv cotton twill or something like that.

    Hey

    I am the friend !

seems that the uniform is like the new generation tie pilot jumpsuit but in two part with a longueur jacket

the uniform seems to be composed of wool fabric because its in a mountain context, and from an other natural material like linen or silk etc..

will see what we can find as extra images, ref to investigate a little bit further

    thanks for this project !!

    Hey fellow Officers,
As most of us might have seen, finally the ordinary Army Troopers, the "Boots on the ground" have appeared on screen! Long overdue, as we have seen the Elite - Stormtroopers and the specialised Mudtroopers, but not yet the ordinary "Grunts". I am interested in making this Costume and would like to start a discussion here.
As the latest episode of "Andor" is just a less than a week old i will not yet post screenshots, i will wait until the end of next week. No Spoilers...

What we can do ist start discussing materials and pattern of the uniform. Material seems to be a standard heavy fabric, but NOT the Ripstop material used in most "of the shelve" BDUs. More like Moleskin, a kind of heavy cotton.

Tunic pattern seems to be similar to the standard BDU, but with some additional seams on the back and pockets on the upper arm. Pants also BDU-style, but without the Cargo Pockets. Okay, hard to explain without pics, i will add them in a few days to avoid spoilers.

Boots are the same Jack Boots (Knobelbecher) used in SOO many other costumes. Hat is a standard Officers Cap. Belt also standard Officer Belt.

Short black leather gloves are worn.

In some frames 1 or 2 black "Rankbands" are worn on the left shoulder. The Soldier with two bands is adressed as "Corporal", so i assume one band is a "Private 1st Class"

What do you think, can we start a new costume from here?

    Hello to you officers,

I am calling on you to help me finalize my costume project: Imperial Military Officer (Non-Saga) Version 1.

I've been looking for the mandatory elements to obtain to validate the costume and here is the list of elements (I will update the list as I find the pieces of the costume):
    Hat ToDo
    Tunic ToDo
    Rank Bar Done (Order received)
    Code Cylinders Done (Order received)
    Belt ToDo
    Pants ToDo
    Boots ToDo

For the optional accessories I will see later, I know the list of accessories is long. This is my very first costume project. Currently I'm looking mainly for the top and pants, if you know where to look I'll be interested. I live in France, the ideal would be a manufacturer in Europe but if it's possible to import the products from the USA it's good too.

Thanks to those who read this post

Hello, I look forward to this opportunity. A few things I would like to point out and consider a modification of her crl. I am interested in making her real world and not animated.

    I have circled these items.

The rank is not rounded and is considered real world rank. I would like to use squared rank.

The center of the jacket hangs slightly lower on the skirt. In the image they have shaded it to make appear this way. I would like this to be annotated as such below.
    OPTIONAL Level two certification
Mid-section of the tunic is approximately two inches longer than the bottom of the rest of the tunic & opens on both sides, up to the waist-line.

Though I think this is just a copy-paste from Thrawn's CRL with just the addition of specifications for Rae's hair ^^

Good luck for your Rae Sloane, as a Hux I will be delighted to see a costume of my sort-of adoptive mom! <3

Yes I am using the Thrawn crl. I may request to change a few things on her tunic. Also she doesn’t carry a blaster in the pictures, so maybe it will get removed. Robert is assisting me and once the LMOs approve it I will begin making the tunic.

    Good day,

I am interested in creating a crl for Grand Admiral Sloane. I would like to create the uniform similar to Thrawn's rebel costume with a slight change in the tunic. I believe the front of Nyna Calixte's tunic resembles Sloane's tunic, as it appears the front of the skirt hangs as if it is unattached on the right side. I will be using real world rank badges, code cylinders and belt.

ALL the ranks should be permissible for any uniform, especially when there is long standing examples of various ranks throughout the years.  This is the Imperial officer corps, not the Original Trilogy club.

That said, what would you say to the ISB being split like we have with the security services and the staff.

We preserve the past with the OT uniforms and allow the configurability with ISB much like we did with the non saga CRLs.

We have done it with green and black... how about we do it with the ISB?

Front and rear "flaps" overlap at the sides and are approximately 4 inches (101.6mm) high.
The front beak extends down 3 inches and is decorated with (5) (6) or (7) concentric stitches.
Imperial Code Disk in the center of the front vertical "flap".
At the bottom of the front flap there is a red stripe 1.5cm wide, the same red as the stripes on the sleeves.

OPTIONAL Level 2 Certification (if applicable):
The code disc has a notch on the outermost disc.
OPTIONAL Level 3 Certification (if applicable):
Code Disk exactly matches the prop used by the screen.
    tunic
White fabric is a mid-weight suit fabric that matches the pants perfectly.
The tunic is double breasted with a left over right closure at the tapered yoke.
The yoke extends over the shoulder to the upper shoulder seam.
The stand-up collar has square corners with a left-over-right center closure.
The collar contains a modesty panel.
The tunic has medium gray matt satin piping.
On each shoulder are rectangular epaulettes in the same gray as the piping.
The sleeves are long and without cuffs or buttons.
Sleeves contain 1 seam, on the inside.
On both sleeves there are two rank bands made of gray faux leather in the same gray as epaulettes and piping.
The tunic is constructed without topstitching (seams are visible on the outer surface of the fabric).
The back of the tunic has a seam that runs down the center of the tunic from the neck to the hem.
There is a slit on the back of the tunic that runs from belt level to the floor.
On the outside of the sleeves, two parallel red stripes, as wide as the rank stripes, run the length of the sleeve from the epaulette to the cuff. The total width of the two stripes ends with the width of the epaulette.
On the right chest is the Kamino Doctors patch.

OPTIONAL Level 2 Certification (if applicable):
    •The collar is approximately 3.175 cm (1.25") to 6.35 cm (2.5")

    • No stitching is visible anywhere.
    • A lining is sewn in.
    • The shoulder lines look very straight.

    trousers
White fabric is a medium weight suiting fabric that matches the tunic perfectly.
The trouser legs are straight, without rider flaps, and are worn tucked into the boots.
Pockets are acceptable but must not be visible when the tunic is on.

    rank bar
The rank bar is worn on the left side of the tunic over the piping.
Rank consists of colored plastic tiles mounted in a frame panel.
The rankbar consists of three tiles in a row, one blue tile on the right and two red tiles on the left.

OPTIONAL Level 2 Certification (if applicable):
The bar is approximately 1⅛" (28.6 mm) high.
The length of the frame plate is approximately 6 cm (2⅓") wide
The dimensions of the rank plates are approximately ⅝" (16 mm) wide x ⅞" (22 mm) high.

    Belt
The belt is made from a non-textured brown leather or leather-like material in the same brown as the boots and is approximately 51mm wide.
•There are no loops on the belt.
•The buckle has rounded corners and is made of a horizontally brushed metal or metal-like material.
The buckle is embellished with a Republican code disc in the center.
•The code disc is a stepped cone shape that looks like 2 discs stacked on top of each other. • The larger disc is 1.4 inch (3.5 cm) and the smaller disc is 1 inch (2.5 cm).

    Boots
The boots are made of brown leather or leather-like material, the same brown as the belt.
If stretch inserts or zippers are present, they must be hidden on the inner shaft.

Boots do not have a zipper.
    Boots are made of leather.

    Optional

    gloves
Gloves are made of brown leather or leather-like material, the same brown as boots and belts.
Gloves can be plain or have 3 stitch lines on the back of the hand.

    DC-15S blaster
Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the DC-15S is smaller than the DC-15A blaster rifle. Although it has a shorter range than the "A" model, it is easier to handle with a higher rate of fire. It features a folding stock for braced shooting.

    Realistic clone style DC-15S blaster.
Blaster can be custom built out of plastic, wood, metal or cast in resin.
Blaster has realistic Episode II or Episode III details:
    wire frame sight.
    Collapsible storage.
Twelve (12) radiator fins evenly spaced along the length of the cylinder.
    Igniter detail buttons.
Load the magazine clip on the right.
The overall length is approximately 26" (66 cm).
Due to the scaling, the Hasbro version is wrong.

OPTIONAL Level 2 Certification (if applicable):
The detail of the loading magazine on the clip is gun metal color gun metal.
Detail studs and screws are gun metal gray in color.
Ignition knobs have some copper tint.

Personally, sometimes I wear beard, sometimes I wear chops, mustache or nothing. As pointed in the threat, you are free to do whatever you want. The only exception is when you are doing a character.
Also, as a good example, here you have a few officers with bears in the cover of Dr Aprha #35 (2016) done by Ashley Witter

AngelFelix reacted to Mitthrawnuruodo in General Veers CRL
Let's start with the question of why Pryce gets one. Simply put her uniform is 100% different. Animated uniforms in general are 100% different from the movies.
I can't just wear my normal green suit and say "I'm Kassius Konstantine", the rank bars and code cylinders are different shapes, the boots aren't perfect matches, the collars have those black marks on them, the hat disks and belts are totally different. There's nothing I can use from my movie uniform and have it be approved as an animated officer.

What's different between Veers, Piett and Needa? Number of code cylinders and rank bar tiles. "But Ozzel has a mustache!" He sure does, but his uniform and accessories are exactly the same as every other officer in the original trilogy. "But Motti and Tagge don't wear hats!" You're right, we don't see them wearing hats and many others in A New Hope are hat-less. But the uniforms and accessories themselves are the same as all the others. "But Tarkin gets his own CRL!" You're right, he does, and about 95% of his uniform is exactly the same as all the others. But he has the dress shirt under his uniform and a very specific hair style and facial features. Admittedly that doesn't really seem like enough to warrant a whole separate CRL, but if I go troop an event as Veers, and halfway through I decide to change up my code cylinders and rank bar and walk back out as Piett that's a 5 second change. If I start an event as Tarkin and want to change to Jerjerrod I'd have to wash my hair, clean off my old man makeup, take off the dress shirt under my tunic, add a hat and change up all the other accessories. Not as simple/quick.

But for arguments sake lets say the Detachment Leader decides to publish a Veers CRL. Great. Now people want Motti, and Tagge, and Piett both admiral and captain, and Khurgee... the list is endless and all we're doing between those CRLs is changing accessories, facial hair, and hair styles. That's just a nightmare for the detachment staff, LMO team, and webteam.

My proposed counter idea would be to have character specific galleries in the CRL similar to the TIE Pilot helmet detail examples - https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TI_TIE_Pilot_Helmet-detail
Similar idea, just list named officers and show an image of their accessories and a small text description example: General Veers - X# of code cylinders in X style, rank bar is X rows with X red tiles and X blue tiles

I understand the want to be an officially approved Veers vs. just a line officer, but there's nothing stopping any of us at a troop saying, "Hi, I'm General Veers" when talking to fans.

It is exactly the same suit as the Imperial Enlisted Flightsuit (Non Saga).

It is the darker grey flightsuit made of nylon just like in Rogue one.  It has the embossed patches,.  Boots are the same.  The hat has a notch in the greeble like OT Hats, though this one is turned down.  It has the smaller belt box.  The belt is grooved.

The main addition are the pouches and the goggles.  I would rather this be a tab with the enlisted flightsuit for organizational purposes.  It is just slightly a different configuration.
