  1. I have multiple facial piercings.

For Director Isard, I take them out and put them back in afterwards but I know my piercings and know they won't close up in that time.

For my staff officer, jedi etc, I swap my regular jewelry for the small, plain, flat disc studs.

    Hope that helps a little

  2. So I got the book for Christmas and may or may not have been pouring over the picture with a flashlight...
It looks to me like there is a concealed zip running through the red stripe down the front of the tunic. At the bottom of Lieutenant Lenwith's tunic I swear it looks like the bottom of a zip.
    Thoughts?

  3. To me it looks like piping but I'm basing this on squinting at the screen and zooming. I did wonder about a shoulder opening under the mantle yoke... thingy.

I'm still excited by seams for boob allowance!

Hat looks like a Confederate style with an extra front piece that comes up as Kris said above.

  4. I'm gonna regret this... but I want one.

    Tunic:
    - I cannot see from the picture how it fastens. Definitely does not look like an overlap like the OT ones so not sure yet. Hooks maybe?

    - neck seal looks a lot like a tk one

    - yoke piece looks like a separate piece - much like Qi'ra's red Cape.

    - be still my beating heart - the female one has seams on the front of the tunic! Yay!

    Trousers:
    - evil point things

Has anyone got any reference for the boots yet?

  5. well that is nonsense, most of the comics and other non fan art has both configurations, the CRL should be amended to reflect that.
SW is such as vast universe with so many off-shoots that there has to be a compromise somewhere. We do what we do to raise money and bring smiles. The general public is less likely to be that hot on all the nuances of the comics vs the film etc. - it's more about setting the scene.

Whether we like it or not:
    - Isard technically is not even canon now in the Disneyverse.
    - Krennic is canon.
    - Krennic is also an isb director. His rank bar is red on top.
    - there needs to be continuity to set the scene

It may not be to everyone's taste (such is the nature of compromise) but I can understand the reason for it.

    Apologies Kris for the detouring.

  6. Hey y'all *waves*

I am genuinely interested in this one but will confess it's because I want to do one.

I've been wondering about this one for a while. A lot of the OT officers and crew were all human. That being said, a lot of them were male which would lead me to think it was more of a decade thing and a money saving thing (prosthetics were pricey) - rather than a reflection of the SW universe. The Empire was a vast enterprise with recruited from all corners of the galaxy - surely they weren't all human? Thrawn is my poster boy example for this one.

Twi'leks, in my opinion, are one of the most versatile races in the SW universe/EU. They crop up all over the galaxy. I appreciate that slavery has a lot to do with that. In verse they're considered very desirable and as such are often kidnapped and sold. That aside, there have been jedi, sith, rebel fighters and rebel pilots in verse. The mando mercs even have cleared twi'lek bounty hunters.

I know I've gone on about twi'lek the most here but I am a total noodlehead fan and would absolutely love to be able to put a twi'lek officer in for clearance one day.

So what do you guys think? Twi'lek, zabrak, togruta? Does it seem logical/reasonable for them to be bad guys too? Am I way off the mark here? Do they already exist and I've missed it?

I'd really like to hear what others think on this one.

  7. Wow. It's honestly great to see how much thought, time and effort goes into discussing and deciding crl's.

As a fairly new costumer who generally makes their own stuff, a clear crl is a godsend. Personally, I find the ones with a ton of variants terrifying - especially things like seam placements etc. What if the seams I choose don't go with the weapon  variation I choose? (Costume ocd is an affliction :-D)

I think as a face character Hask has earned a crl. He's named because he's a main feature - not so it's easier to credit than 'officer Vader choked' (BTW,  love that line 8)). To costume as Hask, you are representing a specific character - not just an officer. Same as Tarkin, Thrawn and all the others mentioned previously. As a costumer looking to do a specific character, rather than generic, it's a lot easier to have a specific crl to work from.

    This my personal opinion though.

Hask has differences in his uniform. The seams are different, the code cylinders etc. This is not a variant to the generic crl, this would make it a different uniform. This is a lot different to 'generic uniform officer, choose your rank' variations.

I also think by having a specific crl it will pave the way for others in the future to create a realistic Hask thereby helping to enrich and grow the wealth of characters across the world that the legion troop.
