That makes perfect sense.  If there was one. Why not more.  A Darth Vader comic called the ghost prison also has an unknown species as a officer near the end. I'll have to dig up the book and see if I can get a couple of pictures from it.  So I'm with Tentayena on this. Why not?

I asked my CO about this when I was curious about the idea of down a lower ranked Thrawn. This was before the comics had come out, and there was some question about what color uniform he'd be in (I only have a line officer cleared at this point in time)

I know a lot of the lore around Thrawn centered around him being one of (if not the only) non human officer in the Empire, but I was told that since there was one, I could be a generic Chiss officer if I wanted to. I know RL holds the same views. there was one chiss jedi, so i can clear as my chiss OC.

This was just for chiss specifically, but I think the general rule, at least for my garrison, was if there was one, there could be others?

    Hey y'all *waves*

I am genuinely interested in this one but will confess it's because I want to do one.

I've been wondering about this one for a while. A lot of the OT officers and crew were all human. That being said, a lot of them were male which would lead me to think it was more of a decade thing and a money saving thing (prosthetics were pricey) - rather than a reflection of the SW universe. The Empire was a vast enterprise with recruited from all corners of the galaxy - surely they weren't all human? Thrawn is my poster boy example for this one.

Twi'leks, in my opinion, are one of the most versatile races in the SW universe/EU. They crop up all over the galaxy. I appreciate that slavery has a lot to do with that. In verse they're considered very desirable and as such are often kidnapped and sold. That aside, there have been jedi, sith, rebel fighters and rebel pilots in verse. The mando mercs even have cleared twi'lek bounty hunters.

I know I've gone on about twi'lek the most here but I am a total noodlehead fan and would absolutely love to be able to put a twi'lek officer in for clearance one day.

So what do you guys think? Twi'lek, zabrak, togruta? Does it seem logical/reasonable for them to be bad guys too? Am I way off the mark here? Do they already exist and I've missed it?

I'd really like to hear what others think on this one.

Wow. It's honestly great to see how much thought, time and effort goes into discussing and deciding crl's.

As a fairly new costumer who generally makes their own stuff, a clear crl is a godsend. Personally, I find the ones with a ton of variants terrifying - especially things like seam placements etc. What if the seams I choose don't go with the weapon  variation I choose? (Costume ocd is an affliction )

I think as a face character Hask has earned a crl. He's named because he's a main feature - not so it's easier to credit than 'officer Vader choked' (BTW,  love that line ). To costume as Hask, you are representing a specific character - not just an officer. Same as Tarkin, Thrawn and all the others mentioned previously. As a costumer looking to do a specific character, rather than generic, it's a lot easier to have a specific crl to work from.
    This my personal opinion though.

Hask has differences in his uniform. The seams are different, the code cylinders etc. This is not a variant to the generic crl, this would make it a different uniform. This is a lot different to 'generic uniform officer, choose your rank' variations.

I also think by having a specific crl it will pave the way for others in the future to create a realistic Hask thereby helping to enrich and grow the wealth of characters across the world that the legion troop.

Hello all, I want to put this to bed. I am not in the business of doing a ton of CRLS for face characters. As we all know I have a track record of condensing CRLS.

    My Background
Hello all! As some may know I come from a background of art. I was a concept artist in the games industry and have worked with everything from concept to working with others on modeling, rigging to lighting and rendering.

So I have taken a few minutes to detail  the differences between the Generic FO officer in Battlefront.

Lets preface it by saying that we need to only use game art. Dragging shots from the movie shouldn't be used for us to decide the CRL for this costume in any capacity (because modelers do whatever they want). Everything in the process will be different building this, short of the Concept artist using reference for the suit.

With about 15 minutes of research I could come up with multiple (glaring) differences between Hask and the Generic officer in the game.

    A Note on Rendering:
We typically shouldnt worry about "cut scene rendering" compared to "in-game". The difference between the two is lighting.
Im sure its blatantly obvious looking at this that Hask has a completely different texture sheet from the Generic officer. He is unique.

    Differences
Color: Hasks color is slightly different. Darker. Almost all of him is just kinda a dull grey where as the generic has a very distinct color difference.
*You can visually see that the generic is much lighter in comparison to the belt and hasks looks opposite compared to the shiny belt.
Rank Bar: Hasks rank bar is tiny compared to the Generic
Belt/shoes: The rendering on Hask should be high gloss and the Generic should be medium shine.
Design: The tunic has different constriction.
Code Cils: There are hooks on one and not the other

My verdict: The reason why this would be considered a different CRL is because we have multiple costume differences (that are NOT the face)

If the character had the same outfit (minus the look of his face) I would recommend it to be a generic officer costume. However as it stands there are to many differences to warrant trying to shove this into one CRL.

    Whats your thoughts?

I hope this helps and have a nice day,
