Is there enough texture on this buckle? I’ve been using 120 grit sand paper to create the brushed look.
I plan to sandblast it to reduce the shine, once the right texture has been achieved.

Hey everyone: I have a belt that I’m not confident will pass 501st standards. I’m thinking I could sandblast it to take some of the shine off, but that’s about it.
If anyone could tell me what I need to fix on it, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

This is my first attempt at creating a rank bar. How exacting do I have to be? I can redo it if it's terrible-I used a semi-permanent adhesive called 3-bond, in case I screwed up.
I haven't cleaned up the excess or pencil marks yet. Still waiting for the 3-bond to dry.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Update: it was sent unfinished. The seller is taking the belt back so it can be finished properly.

I would say yes, you would need to fix that before you can get approved. There are several things you might be able to do. One is to contact the person you bought it from, show them the picture, and see if they can replace it for you or otherwise help. If they cant/wont, I think you would need to buff the buckle to remove those marks.

I received my belt for my Imperial Line Officer Uniform in the mail today, and I noticed three weld spots. Do I need to fix this in order to be 501st approved?

I sandblasted the belt in an attempt to dull it. It also smoothed out my original texture, so I redid it, this time paying attention to the lines. Is this better/still acceptable?
