It's possible, Her armour was made from the hull of Palpatine's Naboo yacht, the hulls were designed to protect the ship's on atmospheric re entry so if she survived the fall the heat and flames may not have caused her much damage

Exactly! Besides the most important fact of all... We didn’t actually see her die

  2. Well they're doing it for their own Netflix-like service coming in the near future, but keep in mind they own ABC.

Yeah they’re basically going to take over the world. ABC, Pixar, Jim Henson studios, Marvel, Star Wars, Now 20th century Fox.

  3. I love Jon Favreau but I’m still petrified about what could go wrong. They could go so many different routes. They could go the primetime route like abc or nbc but then whether it’s good or bad plotwise I still feel like that would cheapen the brand... At least a little bit. Marvel had nothing to lose reputationwise when the released Agents of Shield, which happens to be a terrific show with an amazing plot.

Another route they could go is premium subscription networks like HBO. That’s touchy ground though because as it is Star Wars it has always been meant to be family friendly; Something that HBO is not commonly associated with. However if they made a TV14 Star Wars series on HBO it’s hard to imagine it not being a total success.

Netflix could also give a similarly high quality production.

  4. Was anyone else perplexed by Reys 'Luke in the caves of Dagobah' moment? I personally failed to see what about it involved the dark side. They tried to end it the same way they did the scene on ESB with something being cracked open or shattered to reveal the heroes face. On ESB that had meaning though, it was demonstrative of Luke's fear of becoming Vader or simply fears himself depending on how you look at it. Darth Vader's appearance in the cave was a clear indicator of the dark side at play as well.

In TLJ the mirror revealed herself when she asked who her parents were... Whatever that's supposed to mean. These places that are strong with the dark side of the force are supposed to test you; they play on your darker primal emotions such as fear, hate, loss, etc.. Rey did not experience anything like that. Really what she felt was simply a calm determination to reach the... I don't know... end of the mirrors I guess. Then she wasn't confronted with anything that would expose her internal weaknesses. She did the equivalent of throwing a coin in a wishing well and asked who her parents were. Calculating... Calculating..... and the answer is... YO FACE. What the heck was that LOL. So Rey leaves having learned nothing. If I were to watch that scene of mirrors with no prior knowledge of TLJ I would not have able to guess that the place she was in, which I would've perceived as a bad acid trip, was a place strong with the Dark side.

If it was supposed to be like some kind of seriously classic British subtle ironic dark humor, as if the only answer dark side rich places give anyone is 'YO FACE', than I would have a totally new respect for the film and dare I say Rian Johnson.

...However I find that highly unlikely considering his feeble childish humor moments were so prevalent in the film.

Since TFA came out I always hoped to see some more high officers, like we had in the OT with Ozzel, Piett, Motti, Tarkin, no need to tell, we know them all. Perhaps an Admiral or some other General, working together and walking along a hallway. But sadly we only got Hux and for five minutes in TLJ Captain Canady (btw am I the only one who got highly remembered of "the Hunt for red october" when the Bridge of the Fulminatrix was all in red light and they used that periscope?). It looks like there are no other high officers necessary, at least not for the movie, I'm sure they need them within the FO. I think this is sad and a missed opportunity.

I totally get that. I almost expected to hear a bunch of officers singing acappella LOL

Other subordinates.  They can hate him all they want as long as they know their place.  He won the war and beat the New Republic.  Something his elders failed at when they were in the empire.

that Hux is an idiot is an opinion I don’t subscribe to.

I wouldn't call it a war as much as "we're going to destroy this essentially demilitarized government before they have a chance to declare war and then allow a small volunteer group to destroy our entire superweapon planet". I didn't think Hux was a fool in TFA but they definitely went out of their way to make him look like a fool in TLJ. I will say I actually liked Hux...before the beginning of TLJ when he was put to shame... until the end of TLJ when it seem like Hux is the only mentally stable person in power.

Aside from all the main gripes about the slander of Luke's character, the awful Canto Bight scenes, Princess Poppins, Porgs or Vice Admiral Holdo the thing that I'm the most hung up on is the FO's inability to destroy the tiny resistance fleet( and lose a Dreadnought with approximately 215,000 crewmembers in the process). The way I see it General (why not Admiral? Is he an Army commander?) Hux failed to exercise even the basics of space naval warfare. Why wasn't a screen of fighters placed ahead of the FO fleet once contact with the enemy ships was established? Poe should have never been able to approach and destroy the Dreadnought Fulminatrix. Why wouldn't a fighter/bomber attack on the enemy ships be practical, even if out of support range surely the sheer numbers of fighters at the disposal of Hux would have been able to overwhelm the Raddus and accompanying vessels. Maybe Hux didn't want to waste his fighter fleet, which is respectable. However, perhaps some of the smaller faster ships of the fleet could have been used. Does the FO have light cruisers or corvettes? We know for a fact that the FO has several improved Imperial 2 class ISD's which might have been able to catch up to the Raddus, a MC80 which wasn't exactly a new design. OK so even if none of the FO ships could catch up to the traitor's ships, couldn't they have a few ISD's short jump at lightspeed to get in front of and block-in the Raddus and friends? Also the MC80's have two command bridges...who knew? And after all of this failure and the loss of the Fulminatrix, Hux is somehow allowed to retain command. The First Order certainly doesn't seem to compare to the glorious Galactic Empire in terms of professional leadership or serious innovation. Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Imperial remnant would have ended this movie short! Speaking of which, a Interdictor class Star Destroyer sure would have been handy...

I agree entirely. From what ive read in the books and as alluded to in TFA General Armitage Hux is in charge of the Stormtrooper program. There are numerous naval Admirals in the First Order. Not to mention the original leader of the First Order, Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, who is still alive and as indicated in the book, Phasma, still holds rank and position in the FO, still outranking Hux in fact. So why is the Overseer of the Stormtrooper program overseeing Naval strategic operations. Is there no Bureaucracy in the FO at all? Where are Hux's colleagues at least? TLJ makes it out like its Snoke, Ren, Hux, and a bunch of henchmen. In the original trilogy we saw multiple Admirals and there subordinates overseeing their ships at least. It just seems in TLJ like the FO is just really small with limited resources which happened to also destroy the new republic which also was a shell of a state and had limited resources. I feel like the events of TLJ had little to no impact on the rest of the galaxy. Just a perpetuation of chaos without a proper galactic state with no end in sight. Lets face it what are they gonna do after episode IX? Form the New New Republic?

PS. Why is Hux getting special treatment? hes not a force user, ergo expendable in any darklords mind. Palpatine or Vader would've killed and replaced this guy as soon as Poe destroyed that dreadnaught after shaming him

Well for me, the white bronco chase in space was a massive tactical error.  Jump a couple of ships up front and it's all over.  Luke's hobo Jedi part was not where I would have thought of it going. And killing him off was excessive for me. He could have played out more in the story.  Then Leia living all the way through was a cool thing. But with carries sadly passed away. Where does here character go from here? All that's left is chewie and the droids.  Then on to Finn and Rose's excursion to the casino.  Well why did that have to happen? They didn't get the guy maz sent them after. And why turn to maz in the first place? Finn barely knows her. New Jedi placement at end of the movie is all I got from that.

Ugh.  Cinimasins is going to have a field day with this one. Check out his tfa video. It's funny as heck.

    Well next rank guys!

I definitely agree with the tactical impracticality of the white bronco chase lol. However I understood Finn turning to Maz. The dudes only met like five people since leaving the first order, one of whom is dead now, making Maz the only smuggler hes ever become acquainted with. besides the clone trooper in the red helmet that was going to take him to the outer rim. Though I do wonder why Poe doesnt pipe up with some of his contacts. From the comics theyve already released theyve confirmed that Poe has been around.

  11. Id like to rephrase my previous comment about Luke. I have nothing against the 'commonly seen in the wild' raggedy jedi. Rian didnt just make Luke a hobo, he made Luke a sulking, self pitying, borderline snively, hobo. And I honestly thought Luke was gonna die once he started fighting Ren. I thought 'Great theyre just gonna kill off Luke but at least they made him the beast we all wanted to see' ....and then..... it turns out it was all a big show. I thought 'Well they stole his Yoda AOTC lightsaber moment but at least hes still alive' .......and then........ he died.... cause golly the poor little fella was just too tuckered out from all that 'projecting'. Thus continuing the tradition set by his mother of dying for literally one of the silliest reasons. I understand if Disney feels Luke has to die but why take away his total BEAST moment instead of just letting him have it? Isnt that what people have waited 35 years to see? I know projecting himself across lightyears like that is pretty advanced stuff but that isnt nearly as satisfying as watching him actually survive an all out assault by multiple AT-M6's. BTW I am A Huge Fan of the prequels.

    Sorry for the schpeel :P

  12. I thought that weve waited years and years to see what kind of beast Luke Skywalker would become after Return of the Jedi. I as well Hamill feel that what Rian Johnson did with Lukes character was just wrong. He made Luke a dirty hobo for the whole movie. I loved how we saw that Leia developed her relationship with the force over the decades. Though Im not really crazy about the fact that the only original character that hasnt been killed off is no longer with us. I just wasnt happy really happy with the overall film though there were some cool things in it
