Again for me it was a case of he probably wanted to launch fighters but Hux was too busy having his phone call with someone that he should have had no interest in talking too, they were there to wipe out the resistance not chit chat with them

OMG this is one of their best! This would have been an awesome movie who would have made total sense from the opening crawl to the end credits.

That leads to the question; what makes Hux special enough to get Snokes ear? Why not someone less snively? Why make him snively in the first place it just makes him look totally unqualified for his position.

I wouldn't call it a war as much as "we're going to destroy this essentially demilitarized government before they have a chance to declare war and then allow a small volunteer group to destroy our entire superweapon planet". I didn't think Hux was a fool in TFA but they definitely went out of their way to make him look like a fool in TLJ. I will say I actually liked Hux...before the beginning of TLJ when he was put to shame... until the end of TLJ when it seem like Hux is the only mentally stable person in power.

I agree entirely. From what ive read in the books and as alluded to in TFA General Armitage Hux is in charge of the Stormtrooper program. There are numerous naval Admirals in the First Order. Not to mention the original leader of the First Order, Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, who is still alive and as indicated in the book, Phasma, still holds rank and position in the FO, still outranking Hux in fact. So why is the Overseer of the Stormtrooper program overseeing Naval strategic operations. Is there no Bureaucracy in the FO at all? Where are Hux's colleagues at least? TLJ makes it out like its Snoke, Ren, Hux, and a bunch of henchmen. In the original trilogy we saw multiple Admirals and there subordinates overseeing their ships at least. It just seems in TLJ like the FO is just really small with limited resources which happened to also destroy the new republic which also was a shell of a state and had limited resources. I feel like the events of TLJ had little to no impact on the rest of the galaxy. Just a perpetuation of chaos without a proper galactic state with no end in sight. Lets face it what are they gonna do after episode IX? Form the New New Republic?

PS. Why is Hux getting special treatment? hes not a force user, ergo expendable in any darklords mind. Palpatine or Vader would've killed and replaced this guy as soon as Poe destroyed that dreadnaught after shaming him

Aside from all the main gripes about the slander of Luke's character, the awful Canto Bight scenes, Princess Poppins, Porgs or Vice Admiral Holdo the thing that I'm the most hung up on is the FO's inability to destroy the tiny resistance fleet( and lose a Dreadnought with approximately 215,000 crewmembers in the process). The way I see it General (why not Admiral? Is he an Army commander?) Hux failed to exercise even the basics of space naval warfare. Why wasn't a screen of fighters placed ahead of the FO fleet once contact with the enemy ships was established? Poe should have never been able to approach and destroy the Dreadnought Fulminatrix. Why wouldn't a fighter/bomber attack on the enemy ships be practical, even if out of support range surely the sheer numbers of fighters at the disposal of Hux would have been able to overwhelm the Raddus and accompanying vessels. Maybe Hux didn't want to waste his fighter fleet, which is respectable. However, perhaps some of the smaller faster ships of the fleet could have been used. Does the FO have light cruisers or corvettes? We know for a fact that the FO has several improved Imperial 2 class ISD's which might have been able to catch up to the Raddus, a MC80 which wasn't exactly a new design. OK so even if none of the FO ships could catch up to the traitor's ships, couldn't they have a few ISD's short jump at lightspeed to get in front of and block-in the Raddus and friends? Also the MC80's have two command bridges...who knew? And after all of this failure and the loss of the Fulminatrix, Hux is somehow allowed to retain command. The First Order certainly doesn't seem to compare to the glorious Galactic Empire in terms of professional leadership or serious innovation. Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Imperial remnant would have ended this movie short! Speaking of which, a Interdictor class Star Destroyer sure would have been handy...

The dudes only met like five people since leaving the first order, one of whom is dead now, making Maz the only smuggler hes ever become acquainted with. besides the clone trooper in the red helmet that was going to take him to the outer rim. Though I do wonder why Poe doesnt pipe up with some of his contacts. From the comics theyve already released theyve confirmed that Poe has been around.

Well for me, the white bronco chase in space was a massive tactical error.  Jump a couple of ships up front and it's all over.  Luke's hobo Jedi part was not where I would have thought of it going. And killing him off was excessive for me. He could have played out more in the story.  Then Leia living all the way through was a cool thing. But with carries sadly passed away. Where does here character go from here? All that's left is chewie and the droids.  Then on to Finn and Rose's excursion to the casino.  Well why did that have to happen? They didn't get the guy maz sent them after. And why turn to maz in the first place? Finn barely knows her. New Jedi placement at end of the movie is all I got from that.

For me the reason I did not like it was for all the things that made no sense 

I voted “like some parts didn’t like some parts”. I mean I still liked the movie but it’s certainly not one of the best in my opinion.
 
 I got pretty annoyed that they made Hux comic relief pretty much in every scene he was in. It would ha e been okay once or twice but when you do it too much it takes away from the threatening factor that one of the main villain characters should have. He’s the main officer character in these films and it’s just bad that they made him comic relief to that extent, especially as someone who’s a fan of the officer characters.

I'm also with the "Like some parts didnt like other parts" fraction. Even with the chase they could have made a movie without so many logic errors. I mean over seven movies we travelled all around the galaxy, from one planet, one system to another, NEVER having any thoughts like "hm, what does my fuel gage say?" even when the Rebellion was really under pressure they never had any problems regarding the fuel. Don't understand me wrong, it makes total sense that the Resistance is short on this, but bringing it up now reeks like plot convenience. Only to remind people "yes, also the spaceships in Star Wars need fuel".
Regarding the chase once more, Hux let the TIE-Fighters and Kylo return because the Star Destroyers were not able to give cover during their attack. How many TIE-Fighters did they have on all these First Order ships, including Snokes Supremacy? Half a million? A million? I don't know, but if I would have been in command I would have send all of them after the resistance ships, because cover or not, they would not have had any chance to survive. We saw what Kylo did to that hangar, one single fighter! 
And sadly some of the main characters would have had nothing to do during the chase, so of course we need to send them on a complete nonsense mission to find a hacker who could disable the tracking system, for eight minutes. And this only because some certain Vice Admiral is not able to tell the Crew "Look, we are heading for a secret rebell base from the days of old. Stay calm and prepare your departure, make sure not to leave any personal items behind. When we reach the base we will simply let the First Order pass by and then call for help. So there is no need for any solo action." *looking into Poes direction*  
 
Now some positive things, I really liked Luke, of course it would have been great seeing him saying to Rey "Let's go, let's fight the First Order." but I think the way he did act made the "fight" at the end so much more impressing. This confrontation was one of the best of all Star Wars 1:1 fights in my eyes. It's sad he died, because now no one of the old trilogy is left for Ep. IX. I also liked the appearance of Yoda, was a cool moment. The opening sequence was awesome, but the obvius jokes should have ended with Poe making fun of Hux. The most honest statement was, by Captain Canady or Hux - not sure anymore, "What is the sense of all this, if we can't stop three ships.", so true.
 
There are still many things I did not talk about but I think this post is long enough for now, it seems I had to talk this off my soul. Happy reading and feel free to agree or to argue  

I thought that weve waited years and years to see what kind of beast Luke Skywalker would become after Return of the Jedi. I as well Hamill feel that what Rian Johnson did with Lukes character was just wrong. He made Luke a dirty hobo for the whole movie. I loved how we saw that Leia developed her relationship with the force over the decades. Though Im not really crazy about the fact that the only original character that hasnt been killed off is no longer with us. I just wasnt happy really happy with the overall film though there were some cool things in it

But there was no explanation about Snoke at all and Luke died at the end? really? Luke had still some potential at least.
When I saw the scene with Leia in space I thought." wow, that's a nice and appropriate royal death for our Princess." but then she does the Superman?

I dont know. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of the "after Empire" era. 
The first Order thing is something I just can't get warm with. But fortunately it's a matter of taste. I think I'm a bit old-fashioned
