  1. Depending on the material of the cylinders you’re using, you could maybe shorten the clip yourself by snipping a piece off and sanding/filing the edge for approval, I’d discuss it with your GML before doing any modifications like that though. I’ve also learned that just because something is accepted on a previous uniform, doesn’t mean it’ll be accepted for the next. Good luck with your submission!

  2. I usually carry my phone and some cards in a waist bag thats super slim. No one can ever tell I’m wearing it, and It can fit my phone, and a couple cards, that’s it. Otherwise my ISB uniform has belt boxes that you can open, so I store paper cash in those and tissues. I don’t take my wallet though. Anything non essential can basically stay in the changing room, or your vehicle.

That's fair enough, Tapatalk can also be used with Windows too

I was unaware of that. I've been using a Macbook from 2014 since well.. 2014 and I don't really get along with updating my OS often. I didn't know Tapatalk had supported apps on Windows computers.

Using Tapatalk means you can log onto and post direct to the forum, no need for an imaging site

True! Some people might use a DSLR or non-smartphone camera and a computer system and/or lack access to apps. I personally enjoy tapatalk, but I've never uploaded anything with it to be honest. I've always kept organized albums on imgur of all my troops and projects and shared snippets via direct linking.

I think it's good to cover all possibilities for everyone so the options remain open and flexible.

  5. I’d like to add also, for those who don’t have a smartphone or would like an alternative to tapatalk, you can use a free image hosting service such as imgur to directly link images to the forum. Simply paste the direct link URL and the forum should auto convert it to a visible image.

photobucket is a bad choice as they no longer allow offsite direct linking unless you purchase a subscription with them. They both however function essentially the same, so if you used photobucket in the past, imgur is a good alternative. Same goes for any other free image hoster that permits direct linking.

  6. Officers control most of the ships and arsenals of the Empire. I really enjoy being an officer because of their smooth and unique appearance. I also went for an officer first because of it being less expensive than a hard armor based uniform. I am slowly working on a TIE pilot, but for now, I'll stay with my ISB, Staff and Line officer.

  7. I fully agree with Sean on that. Push-button rank bars look a lot better, especially in lower light situations where they still "illuminate" in a way, where I find plexiglass rank bars are more dark in appearance and less "bright / shiny".

Depending on your location you could also consider Klaus's Frässtüberl on Facebook who also makes push-button rank bars. They're based in Germany/EU which could save you on shipping if you live in Europe.

  8. I have always been a fan of the Empire. As many have stated here aleady: They have fantastic technology, order, and all the uniforms look awesome to be honest. Stormtroopers are so iconic in appearance as well. I grew up playing the Batlefront video game series made by Pandemic Studios, which in Battlefront 2 had you play as the 501st Legion members. The campaign showed the change from clonetroopers to stormtroopers and how they've always had an edge above droids and rebels.

  9. I’ve been eyeballing a local weapons shop here in Germany that has a Replica Mauser C96 on sale for around 70€. Considering I have a spare code disk without a notch, I feel that I should build my own blaster, especially from a replica to give it some weight when held and help it look more authentic. Has anyone built their own Merr-Sonn from a replica? I’ve seen some YouTube videos and I’m pretty confident I can buy the things I need from local retailers and supply shops.

I’ve got a black Staff Officer currently in WIP that I got improved today, which closed a slight gap in between the collar and shoulder closure. I have yet to hear back for my addition of the Staff Officer, but I’m confident it’ll work. A Merr Sonn would be great with my Staff Officer.

  10. Welcome! There are a couple ISB uniforms you could focus on. The Rogue One Style ISB or the A New Hope style ISB.

I don’t know if First Order Security Bureau has a CRL entry yet, but that could also theoretically be done.

To get advice through all steps and conversing with the well informed, I’d suggest you request an Advisor via the link below:

  11. Finding a pair of boots for 100 AUD, (which I converted to 65 Euro in my head) is going to be really hard. Best bet to find cheap boots that'll actually look good would be to hawk eBay and take part in auctions for boots. Frankly I've never seen good boots for under 100€. I found my boots for 120€, which I ordered from a site selling russian/soviet officer boots, but that would come to around 200AUD. You can also look at local Equestrian shops, bring a print out of the Boots  CRL entry with you and check what they have on sale.

  12. Wow! Not bad! I’ve personally never tried to make my own hat but that looks pretty fancy! You can give the left over, sown together scraps of cloth to the rebellious child and tell them it’s the same scarf worn by Jyn Erso.

I look forward to your real attempt with the olive fabric. Good luck!
