This is the reason I’m so offended by the lmo’s on this. They literally have no reason beyond “because we said so!” But saying “no this is fine” for others.

Yes, it’s inconsistency like this that have so many of us so upset.
If there were clear and defined rules and procedures that would be one thing, and I’m sure we would all accept that.
(For those who argue that there MUST be 360° views, this is quite simply not the case. The very wording says that ideally there should be these views available, is does not say that they are a definitive requirement)
But this doesn’t appear to be the case here. We see some costumes get through and others not.
I’ve said it here before and I’ve said in the moan Legion boards, CRLs are continuously revised and updated over time. I’m literally part of the IOC CRL team doing that very thing now. We are talking about a fabric tunic which in all likelihood has nothing to see on that back than we’ve already seen. The very reason it hasn’t been seen is that there’s nothing to see. There is no hard armour, no backpack, no wings or fairylights there. It’s fabric. There might be an additional seam. And this is worst case.
If the CRL was green lit right now with the known sources, any future references could be easily incorporated into the text or images, if required.
This happens literally all the time. We improve our CRLs when more information comes to light.

I get that, but I’m getting so very sick and tired of “high levels of legion = behind closed doors” - this should be brought to the public eye as to how biased, unfair and dangerously arrogant the lmo’s have been abusing their position.

Because I am an adult in possession of exceptional forethought and planning skills, in April I went and got a complicated facial piercing, which means it looks like I have four little ball bearings on my eyebrow.

I suspect this probably isn't okay for ioc trooping, and certainly not okay for named characters, so my question is, is there an acceptable cover up?
Will clear/flesh colour retainer caps pass, as they aren't easy to spot?
Or am I going to have to hold off entirely until I can pin down a way to get the metal out of my face?

(Not being deliberately awkward, since April I developed very slow wound healing due to a health condition, so at the moment the piercing still cannot be removed, only the caps changed. I'm also advised against removing it entirely until it's cleanly healed.
Obviously, I hope to reach the point it can simply be taken out for the day, but this could be 4-6 months, it could be never. Believe me when I say I'm less than thrilled.)

When I'm in the TK, a few women have called me their boyfriend while taking selfies with me.
    I do not correct them.

The Last Jedi is the second best Star Wars film, imho. The only debacle is the one people decided had to exist.

So I had a question I’ve been wanting to ask for awhile. What would it take to get a CRL of Moff Quarsh Panaka? If it’s even possible, because I do have the Line Officer Uniform (which is currently being updated), belt and boots, and the accessories.

Honestly it happens less than I had expected. I got it worse when I used to go to anime conventions in a uniform from Mobile Suit Gundam, and people would throw their hands up and shout "Sieg Zeon!" at me all the time.

I find this difficult as well. So long as there are un-costumed handlers at the event, your responsibilities are only supplemental to theirs. Liaising with the crowd feels like the right thing to do, but I struggle to maintain the right demeanor. Scowling would probably be more in character, but I feel unapproachable when I do it. Often I can't help breaking into a smile. I'm genuinely thrilled to be doing this, and the enthusiasm at events is infectious.

Anyhow, I'm still very much figuring this out for myself as well, but I'd recommend just behaving in whatever way feels most natural for you. Don't give yourself a hard time. If you're more of an introvert, then just focus on looking good in photos, and let the handlers take care of the crowd.

For anyone agonizing too much about being a friendly officer, remember Rogue One gave us officers on Jedha who smiled, faffed about with their friends, and even played dice if I remember it right. Also, the  first Solo teaser gave us this friendly fellow.

This has been a great discussion. How do you fellows feel about accents? Of course I'm aware that that many of the officers in ANH have North American accents, but there's always going to be an appeal to matching the clipped dialect of Peter Cushing or Julian Glover or Kenneth Colley. Would you have patience with a poor yankee officer trying his best to speak The King's English?

Politics in media is a fun topic. First of all, I'd like to address that all of the political entities in the Star Wars universe leave something to be desired. The Republic was permissive of horrifically exploitative corporations and backroom cliques. Even at its best, it was hardly better than a forum for planetary oligarchs and monarchs. Recently there has been some wonderful deconstruction of the Jedi, concerning their shades of autocracy and theocracy. There have been some fascinating youtube videos in the past couple of years which emphasize the problematic elements of the Jedi ethos, especially how Jedi stoicism carries several hallmarks toxic masculinity, how Yoda and Kenobi are both deceitful and manipulative in the films scripts, and how Jedi indoctrination pushes both Anakin and Luke toward emotional repression, rather than opening an avenue toward emotional support.

Now, how does the Empire shake out politically? It's just plain fascism. Yes, you can feel sympathy for the humanity of some of the characters swept up in it, such as Ciena Ree, Rae Sloane and Eli Vanto, but the political institution itself is thoroughly dystopian. You're better off not making apologies for it. The shortfalls of the Republic, the Jedi, or the Rebellion don't excuse it.

You do not have to be any sort of fascist apologist to play-act a bad guy from Star Wars. I'm a faaaaar lefty. I have membership card from the IWW in my pocket. I buddy around with Marxists and Anarcho-Syndicalists. You're not obliged to internalize the ideology of a costume you wear. Especially if it's a costume that you primarily wear at charity events for kids.
