  1. You, sir, are a champion - many thanks for the reply. I guess I've been getting myself confused between ANH/R1 ISB and Line Officer/Staff Officer patterns and CosplaySky discussions - reading too much and getting it all mixed up. Many thanks for your swift reply and clear information. :-)

  2. I dropped this message on another board in here and had no response. Maybe it was in the wrong place so I’ll try here:

I'm about to hit the tailors to make ANH ISB tunic with straight-legged pants and I want it to be as perfect as possible, but wanted to confirm a few things - darts and seams.

Princess seams - yes - "The back of the tunic has princess seams that run vertically and turn outward to intersect the arm-hole seam at the vertical center." (CRL)

Neck dart - yes - "There is a dart of about 2" (50.8 mm) in the top center of the yoke." (CRL)

Waist seam - yes -"There is a seam running the entire circumference of the tunic, dividing it along a line hidden by the uniform belt." (CRL)

But here are the one I'm not sure about:

    - "There are darts which are along the waist seam, running upward from the waist seam." (Cosplaysky)

Are these darts necessary and if so, how long and where do they go? Are they on the front sides just in front of the arms - 2" long??

Are there darts running down from the waist seam at the back?

No seam from the left shoulder to the bottom of the 'skirt', right?

Is there a zip holding this together inside, or buttons/clips?

Which is the preferred colour - cream or ecru?

Also - no shoulder pads - right? (stupid question, but just checking)

And - anything else I should have the tailor be aware of??

    Many thanks in advance...

  3. Just discovered a new source (for me anyway) for the push buttons. I ordered some tonight and will wait & see if they arrive in the next few weeks.

For those that are aware of Taobao (China's eBay - kinda), I found the following links tonight:

    https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=524537878489&spm=a1z0d.6639537.1000647.3.560bacf9xblitm&scm=12306.1.0.0

They appear to be the right stuff from the description. Time will tell, I guess.

Now, I'm not sure if Taobao deliver to the US. I've been living in China & Malaysia for the last 7 years, use them semi-regularly and their postage is cheap. Again, not sure if they do the US. Also, not sure if you need a VPN to access it from outside Asia and Google Translate is a godsend. Setting up a Taobao account could be another issue - not sure.

Anyway, for those with a Taobao account or live in Asia, this could be another source of push buttons, and hopefully for others around the globe.

Afterthought - www.buy2you.com could be a website that may help and there may be other agents online that help you to shop at Taobao...

UPDATE: They contacted me today to say minimum order is 10 of each colour. So I've cancelled my order but may try again when I become more 'financial'.
