  1. So, I've talked to my tailor today and here is the thing.

The reason why the lifted middle parts looked narrower on my uniform is because I am slimmer compared to the clone officers in the animated series.

That's why we decided to adapt the lifted middle parts to my body measurements/proportions. Another wearer with wider measuremnets/proportions would have wider lifted middle parts. The other thing is that if you make a costume from an animated refernce, there are always some things wich have to done differently.

Our suggested solution would be that we change the shoulder boards to line up with the edge of the lifted middle parts and end directly at the neck as seen on the reference photos. We also would make the shoulders narrower without changing the lifted middle parts (also because it would be a huge amount of work to make new lifted middle parts). So the space between the shoulder seam and the edge of the lifted middle parts would be narrower anyway and with adjusted shoulder boards the tunic would fulfill the animated refernce in our eyes.

As I mentioned before it's technically correct how she made the lifted middle parts according to the personal requiremnets of the slimmer wearer (myself).

I've attached some photos of the alternations (in terms of making the shoulders of the tunic narrower) she would make and other refernce photos for a propper comparrison.

Would that work for you? Please let me know.

  2. Hold on!

    I noticed a mistake!

the lifted middle part of the jacket is to narrow and should be wider. The shoulder boards should line up with the lifted middle part and they also should be shorter. They should start a bit more towards the neck in the middle of the shoulder and not on the shoulder seam.

I‘ll talk to my tailor and give you an update.

@Tarkin99933 the most important thing is that your uniform looks as close to the references on screen as possible. That is what costs money and time, and I do not want you to waste either. I know that you know more about this costume than likely anyone else. You are the expert, and I trust you.

My worst nightmare is that the detachment approves it, and the LMO office rejects it, causing you to spend more time and money.

As for the CRL text, we do not want to make things SO specific that no one else can do them, so for example, if the hat is close to one other animated hats, maybe have basic approval be the same, but add in the specifics for L2 or L3.

    Does that make sense?

    Hello :-)

Thank you for your motivating words.

    it helps a lot.

I‘ll get the fabric in the next days/weeks and take it to my tailor for discussing the pattern.

    Best Regards,

    Cedric

  4. I just saw another mistake I've made concernig the pattern and the CRL draft.

I wrote that the lower part of the piping should on the edge of the lifted middle part but in fact it sits 1 inch away of it towards the center of the tunic just like the upper part.

I ajusted the CRL draft linked it down below. I also added the desribtion about the strap on the hat to the CRL text wich I've forgot.

I also attached three refernce pictures.

"A Strap made of the same fabric is attached upon the visor and on the lowest part of the front flap and runs over the entire width of the front flap."

"The lower and the upper part of the piping sit 1 inch (2.5 cm) away from the edge of the lifted middle part towards the center of the tunic."

    Please give me your feedback.

I mentioned earlier, you are good to go on those. What specifically do you need clarification on?

Okay great! I was not sure if all my ideas for a pattern design and my CRL draft posted on May 9th are correct compared with the refernce pictures because it would a mix between the black ANH tunic, the republic medic tunic and the republic clone wars tunic.

But if I'm ready to go I'll get the fabric in the next days and ask my tailor if she could make a pattern and a concept art wich I'd like to post here. :-)

    Thank you!

Looks great! Can't wait to see where you take this!

I've made a mistake. The fabric I've showed in the attached pics i my recent post is quite difficult to handle when it comes to ironing the wrinkles.

I've attached a pic of a better fabric in my recent post (please take a look), wich is easier to handle. It's made of 45% wool and 55% polyester.

Here is the direct link to the seller:

Sorry for the confusion, please let me know what you think of the new fabric.

There is a lot of latitude with animated costumes, so I couldn't tell you which one to chose. Honestly any of those will probably be okay.

We try to standardize things when possible. I think this costume is "similar" to this one:

    https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Republic-Officer-Clone-Wars

Maybe we start with that as the base and make changes as you go along.

I think it could be helpful if you guys could tell me if my proposalsfor this costume from my first post in this thread from march 1st. would be okay or require some changes.

I've already listed my ideas for this CRL, because there are some deviations compared to the republic officer from season 1-6.

I also need to know wich fabric (please look at the photos above) I should use.
