You could try Mux, if you search eBay for MUX 501st. I don't think their regular website lists them, but they are still on eBay, and they're great boots.

I saw some of them too, but unfortunately only in the "UK ebay". Sadly most boots are only about 44 to 46cm tall. In my case I would need some that are about 50cm (without the heel)

There is/was also a shop in europe with no or not much shipping costs, but they are not making custom boots anymore. One of our new members in Austria had the same problem.

Yeah, for my Krennic and Inferno ebay and ebay Kleinanzeigen here in germany always worked well for me, because there are no shops like hessen or mux around here. But there is always a lot of patience and a bit of luck involded to find the right boots.

There aren't a huge number who have ordered their custom boots, and fewer still from Europe.  I'm sure the store can answer your questions as to shipping and import duties.  Likewise as to whether they're still doing custom orders.  Seems simplest to just ask.

Other than those possibilities, however, no, there are no hidden costs.

The off-the-shelf sizing is going to come from wherever they keep their stock.  The custom orders, as I said, you'd do best to ask direct... even if someone else from Europe has ordered the custom boots, it would be a shame to find out the hard way that they've changed their policies.

One thing I would definitely advise is be prepared for it to take longer than estimated.  That seems to nearly always be the case with vendors these days, sadly...

Thanks, I didn't know there are so few people with Hessen boots. In the worst case I will just stick to ebay and keep on searching. There are often riding boots from Cavallo or Königs for sale and they also look fantastic.

  4. Hi,

I have just a few questions I couldn't find in other threads:

-Are they still accepting orders for custom made riding boots, because last year some said they declined those order, later I heard they are making them again and now I'm unsure, because I definitely need them custom made due to my long legs yet thin calfes.

-are there any "hidden" costs? They state their boots are made in Spain but Hessen Antique themselfes is apparently located in the US. So would the boots be shipped straight from Spain to Germany or first to the US and then again to Europe(additional customs duties) ?

-How high are the shipping costs to Europe (in my case Germany)

Thanks already for any answers :)

  5. Hi there,

I bought a new pair of boots for my Krennic and just wanted to ask if they would also pass and maybe even be approveable for lvl. 3?

They are made of leather and the seller told me, they are old but original german officer boots from either the police or military.

The buckles from the adjustment straps are silver.

You can usually find equestrian boots on eBay and Etsy for a reasonable price, the trick is condition and fit. The other option is going custom with Mux (my preference) or Hessian Antiques.

Thanks for the tip, currently I have two pairs, one for my Krennic, the other for Inferno Hask. Both fit, but the calves on the Krennic boots are a bit too wide (I have slim legs, yet relatively large feet). The Hask ones fit perfectly, but it is sometimes tricky to get in them, so I am now searching around a bit after boots or vendor for future costumes. I keep always an eye on ebay for the find of the century, ;) but in the end I think even if it's expensive, the best way to have boots that really fit you, is to have them costum made or made to measure.

^^ That.  Very basic riding boot pattern used all over Europe (and the US) for a long, long time.

Still, they look pretty neat :D

A shame you cant buy them, or even if you can, they are probably super expensive. On ebay for example I find most of the time only old NVA boots which, in my opinion, just look wrong for an Imperial Officer.

  8. I'm currently watching "The Man in the High Castle" and noticed that John Smith and other higher Officers seem to be wearing exactly the same boots as Krennic. Now I was wondering, if maybe somebody who know something about this or has connections can tell me, if they are using the same pattern to make their boots for different movies/series or do they get them somewhere else?

  9. At a convention in a museum (before I became a 501st member) I forgot something in my car and walked in my Krennic through the parking lot, when a large tourgroup of english speaking elderly people stepped out of their bus and walked towards me. Some came closer, some stayed away, stared at me and took photos, like I was an escaped zoo animal. One man just stood right in front of me with an angry face and an old lady whispered "is this even allowed" in the back. I tried to explain, it was just a costume from a movie and that there's a convention right over there (you could even see other officers through the fence), but they didn't answered and walked away back to their bus, some angry, others confused looking. Well it was pretty awkward
