The good news is that I'm not in a hurry.   My tunic/pants/cape haven't arrived yet.     So I'm not in any kind of a massive rush.    I just started noticing they weren't here after 11 weeks.    Their total radio silence to my inquiries this week is the thing that prompted me to post.

Maybe the boot that they were selling was not immediately available in stock? It sucks that they have not been as responsive.

I had the pleasure of ordering Jack boots from them last month and received them within a week of the order. Id gladly order from them again given my experience.

Which boots are you trying to order?

These were custom made.    That's why it was a 6 to 8 week turnaround.    I don't mind the waiting.   The first time I contacted them they were very responsive and looked up my order, etc.    It was then they told me they would be getting them by the end of the week and turning them around to ship to me.    (made to my measurements).

3 weeks later and no shipping info I contacted them again earlier this week and then again earlier today.    No response.

  3. So some of you might remember my problem with a boot maker here in the United States that wouldn't respond or deliver.   I wound up filing and winning a Paypal case and retrieved my money.    Shortly thereafter I ordered from Hessen Antiques.     I ordered the custom made riding boots for Krennic.

The order page says it can take 6 to 8 weeks for them to be made.    No problem!    I paid and patiently waited.

When it hit the 8 week mark (3 weeks ago) I inquired about the order.     They said they were expecting them from the maker and would ship them to me by the end of that week.    I waited again....giving them the benefit of the doubt...  for another 3 weeks.     This marks week 11 since I ordered.    I have emailed them TWICE this week and have received no response back.

I'm not sure if I'm cursed or what?     Why can't I find a company that actually delivers the products you pay for?     I'm giving them another 24 hours to respond to my email inquiries and then I'm filing a Paypal case.

  4. Update:   once I escalated it to Paypal, they began handling communications with the seller.    This is their last day to respond to Paypal about this dispute and they have not.    So basically they tied my money up for almost a month.    As soon as Paypal issues a refund I'll be ordering from Hessen.      This has set me back probably 12 weeks.

For those looking for boots in the future -- I would stay far away from SM Wholesale.   For people lucky enough to get their products they seem to be solid quality -- but I never once heard back from ANY of my attempts to get in touch with them, and my order status link abruptly just stopped working after about a week.

    Buyer Beware!

  5. UPDATE:

1 email, 2 calls, and 2 text messages to SM Wholesale with no response.  2 additional messages to the seller via Paypal with no responses.

I escalated this to an official claim.    The seller has 8 more days to respond to Paypal.   This is day two with no response.

The sucky thing is that this is holding me up from getting any boots at all.    I can have them hand made to my measurements from that place in Europe instead -- but now I have to wait on these guys to get my money back.

    Buyer beware!

  6. Well.... after two text messages with SM Wholesale which were received, read, and not responded to -- I started a Paypal dispute.    I have a paper record now of the ongoing problem.   I've read many reports of people 1) loving their products but 2) having to dispute to get them.    So the process is started.   It's annoying because for the same price I could have gotten them made in Europe and sent over in the amount of time it's going to take me to recover my money (or get the product) on this one.

SM Wholesale seems to be "excellent products, terrible customer service" type of outfit.      It's a good thing my Krennic is going to take a couple months or I would be TICKED that the boots are holding up progress.

  7. I haven't trooped as an officer yet as my Krennic is still being assembled, however I've been thinking a lot about this.    As a TD I only have to say as much as I want to.  Here is the conclusion that I've come to:

Ever been to Disney World?     Have you been to the Haunted Mansion or the Tower of Terror?    These cast members thread the needle between being bad and good.   The crowd is never really sure which side they fall on, but they are entertaining while they do it.     That's what I'm going to be going for.

  8. Has anyone ordered from SM Wholesale?    I ordered some (expensive) boots from them a couple weeks ago.    About a week ago my order status link in my email stopped working.     I emailed them through their website and got no response.    Yesterday I called one of their two numbers and a guy answered and said he couldn't check my status because he was in Mexico, and advised me to call the other number on the site and text it if necessary.     I called the number and it went straight to voice mail.    I then texted it and it was read yesterday but I got zero response.

I really want those boots if they are going to follow up with the order, but I'm concerned and sitting here looking at the Paypal dispute path as well.   I don't want to lose $300 to con artists.

That’s why you almost have to get them custom made. Just stumbling on a pair that are your size and good condition is an exercise in futility.

The question I have to ask myself now, is whether I want to bother with L3 or just grab a pair of readily available L2 boots and just live with it.    I mean I'm going L3 with my Sandtrooper, do I really need to go L3 with an officer uniform I'm using as a break from being in armor?
