Checking in on behalf of several of the Canadian Garrisons here; we're always happy to have visitors from other garrisons (except during COVID-19 lockdowns, of course).  Even if we don't have a troop going on, drinks, dinner, or other socializing can usually be arranged!

Two things to consider when crossing borders:  First is that volunteering may be construed as "working" in another country.  You may want to consider making a quiet inquiry with the immigration authorities before bringing your kit over.  Second; remember that if you are bringing a "toy blaster" across a border, it will likely be treated as if it were a real firearm. If you MUST bring it, pack it as if it were real, bring a photo of yourself in costume (for context), and refer to it at all times as a "toy blaster".  Don't use the word "prop" as some troopers have told me that there are places that have strong regulations and duties to be paid on "props", and never, ever, EVER refer to it as a "gun."

I, too, have a goal of visiting other garrisons, outposts, and squads, so perhaps we'll meet some day!  I wish you safe travels!

Lots of members have trooped in other parts of the world, all it takes is contacting a Garrison where you'd like to attend a troop and see what events they have planned in the future. Sign up on their Forums, and see if they'd accept an out of area 501st member to troop with them. Most if not all Garrisons are glad to play host to other Garrison members.

Having trooped several times outside of my home Garrison, I can assure you it's definitely possible and invariably you'll be welcomed.  (I've also trooped as RL outside of the UK and had exactly the same, good experience.)  If you know that you're planning on visiting a location with enough time beforehand, I would suggest signing up to the garrison forum for the area that you plan to visit.  There, you'll be given visiting trooper (or similar) status and will be able to view their troops.

Generally you sign up with them in the same way as you would you're home garrison, if in doubt how they list their signup, reach out in their Introductions forum.

Then generally what happens if you'll let your home garrison know that you've signed up for a visiting troop and it'll be added to your service.  It's great fun and a brilliant way to get to know people.

We're all generally a friendly bunch anyway.

Mython reacted to Alex03 in Question regarding stickers/patches
    Hello,

since I haven't found any information about this topic, I thought the best option was to ask here.
As far as I know (please correct me if I say anything wrong), every legion member has their own sticker/patch design (is this actually a must-have or something optional?), and once you're accepted in the 501st, you can trade (exchange?) patches with other members.
So, since I'm a hobby artist, I thought about creating the design by myself, and my question is: Are there any guidelines regarding the design? Anything that must (not) be on it?
It's not a super urgent question since I have to wait until next year anyway until I can join the 501st (not old enough yet), but I still would like to know that.

    Many thanks in advance

OK chaps, I reckon I can make these finished for £28.00 GBP. UK post and packing will be £5.70. I'll work out the overseas shipping later.

Veer's uniform is no different than Piett, Ozzel's or Needa's in ESB
Motti's uniform is no different that Tagge's in ANH
It is a combined service.   The guys in green with specialization to do different things.

Now the guys in black... they are something different.  On the Death Star those were Krennic's men.   The run the docking bays, guard the data vault, staff the detention bays, control the shield gates, run the shields on the second death star..... all of that has a thread running through it: security.  And the guy that designed the uniforms in question called them: Security and Stormtrooper branch.  Granted I am not a fan of calling them stormtroopers because some of them would not fit into armor.  But security sounds like a nice fit.  John Mollo considered them the SS of the empire.  They are right there with the army and navy guys doing their own thing with an ideological bent to their mission.

As you can see in the hashtag.  Dillon gave this to us because he thought we would act on it.  These are going to be the same uniforms, ranks and costume designer for Solo as was in Rogue One.  Disney is using economies of scale.

Troop at the USS Bowfin. What it would look like if the Empire used Watercraft. ID-90271, ID-81176, and ID-51575 of the Pacific Outpost on duty!

OK Officers and Crew, we're looking for awesome, quality photos of IOC members in action at events to post on our Facebook page, so if you have one that you'd like to share, post it here. If possible, avoid posting photos with the general public in the background. You can have a bit of fun posting humorous photos, but keep it in good taste. Photos will be picked at random and posted on Facebook, and we'll try to pick photos that reflect the spirit of the Officer Corps. Please include a brief description of the event, TKIDs of the members, and Garrison info.
