  1. Never attended a Star Wars celebration before, sounds exciting to do
Usually attend Supernova, Comic Con, small regional comic events
    and other events within
    Melbourne and Sydney Australia.
SW celebration would certainly be a different experience for me to see
It's pretty amazing, having so many star wars fans under one roof. I wish I'd have gone to more of them. Everyone is there because we all love the same thing, I must've slipped into hundreds of conversations with strangers to talk about the most popular to obscure of topics. Go if you can

  2. It's amazingly accurate.  A tad smaller (about 8%), but sot so much that it's noticable unless you put it side by side with a full scale version.

You can follow these instructions for how to modify it: http://www.tk560.com/DH17mod/DH17mod.html

    Here's mine, pre-weathering:

Removing the clear cover is tricky (and don't glue it back with superglue or it will cloud up!) but if you get it done, you can use a WD40 straw to convincingly recreate the light tube from the original single point scopes they used.
That looks great, I'll definitely be trying this

  3. Praetorian IS fantastic.  They're only making limited quantities, at the moment, unfortunately.  And only carry a few models.  Mostly E11s, from your list.  They haven't done DH17 or DL44 yet.

Hyperfirm is indeed completely shut down, and unlikely to come back, at least not for 10-20 years.

"Hyperfirm of the UK" is probably Shear Tech.  They do make very nice rubber E11s, although not as nice as Praetorian's.  Very active and good communications, however, by all reports.  Super popular in the UK.

For a DH17, just get the Nerf dart gun.  You can still snag them on eBay for a LOT less than you're going to pay for a new rubber moulded version.  It's really just 3 minutes (if that) with a hack saw, and a couple coats of spray paint.  VERY easy.

Tai Kai makes great rubber trooping DL44s.  (MSP5s, also)  They're not cheap, though.  You can find him on Facebook.
I didn't realize using the nerf gun would be approvable, opening up an Ebay tab real quick here..

  4. Praetorians are great, if you can snag one.  Hyperfirm did in fact go defunct, sadly.  But if you find one second hand, or even a B-Grade, snag it!  His B-Grades were nearly indistinguishable from the A-Grades.  I have a E-11 and a DLT-19.

I think he just does only First Order stuff right now, but Heston3DSolutions on Etsy (though now that I write this the shop isn't showing up...) makes great 3D printed stuff.  MercSupplyShop on Etsy also has some kits and upgrade kits (for a airsoft gun base to be a Merr-Sonn for example).

I heard about a "Hyperfirm of the UK" but never managed to find out exactly who it was- but they were vetted, just in the UK, so if you're stateside it's expensive shipping.

WhiteArmor.net periodically has E-11s for sale in the For Sale section, as do other forums, as mentioned above.  Also keep an eye on the 501st boards under For Sale- that's where I snagged by B-Grade DLT-19.

Also, almost forgot- look no further than Darman (Etsy, various forums) for holsters!  They're amazing and great quality leather and craftsmanship.  I won't be buying any other holsters except from him.  (I currently have an E-11, DL-44 and Merr-Sonn from him, eventually will need a DH-17 and possibly others).
Noted! It'll be an after-Celebration purchase right now but if the opportunity presents itself, maybe I'll try to snatch one up

I've seen Praetorian blasters on Facebook. Beautiful photos, but I haven't seen one in person.

I just snagged a Hyperfirm second hand. It's gorgeous. Keep an eye out on the main boards, Rebel Legion, FISD. Pretty much anywhere 501st folks are. :)

    Many thanks, good sir

  6. Can anyone recommend a reliable seller? I've heard that some people/companies like Hyperfirm have gone dark on social media, and I'm wary of Etsy as I'm rarely finding comments about purchases stating 501st approvable. E-11, DH-17, DL-44 would all be fine
