    Battlefront 2 (2005)

My first playthrough of the 501st campaign on the game actually coincided with my first meeting of the local outpost of the 501st (sadly now disbanded). So whenever I play that game I think of the 501st. I was really happy when they made it backwards compatible for the Xbox one and had it as a free game of the month a couple months ago with gold live.

No question my 2 favourites are Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy, can't beat the sabre mechanics in that game, it was what defined my childhood in gaming, as for modern games probably would have to be Battlefront 2, as they have fixed pretty much all the issues from launch and is an extremely fun game, but not as good as the classics :)

You are spot on about the saber mechanics. Out of curiosity on Jedi Academy when you were given the choice did you prefer to stay with a single saber or go for two sabers or a double bladed saber. I personally prefer to stay with a single saber.

  3. I have been recently replaying several of my old Star Wars pc games and was wondering what everyone's favorite Star Wars games are. My top three would have to be: 1. Knights of the Old Republic.

    2. Empire at War.

    3. Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. ( This third spot was a hard choice because of the Galactic Battlegrounds games)

I still believe that the "old" games can still hold their own even in today's era of games like the new Battlefront series. What are everyone else's thoughts and favorites?

  4. I am going to have to get custom sized boots due to my large calves and while doing research into mux leather I found these boots on eBay. I believe them to be the exact same ones as kman listed above just a little cheaper since they are being sold on eBay vs the mux leather main website. The boots are sold all the time on eBay but the listing expires every couple days so if this link expires before you have a chance to look let me know and I can give the new link since I keep a close watch on these boots. If you click on the read more option in the description it will show a chart on how to measure your foot/calf and then the list of standard foot and calf sizes that you can choose from ranging from xs to xxxw on the calf and four different available heights on the boots.

I haven't ordered from the new site, yet, but in testing it, it seems like you'd put in your measurements on the color change page, and submit only that.  (I just filled it in with random numbers and hit "add to cart," and it came up with only the $30 color change fee, not the additional custom fit fee).

Having said that, I really recommend costume from CosplaySky/Cossky- unless you're super lucky and happen to fit one of their standard sizes exactly (I've seen it happen, but it's been rare).  It's worth it for $50, in my opinion (I did it for both my suits and they're great).  They always get the legs a bit off and the pants punch outs kind of big, but they're easy to fix.  I'm not overly familiar with the Grand Admiral stuff, but adding a note with correct measurements/specifications for the color wouldn't be a bad idea regardless of custom or not.

Also, they have sales fairly often, so you can get at least some percentage off, which might take a chunk out of or even over shipping, or the color change fee, making the whole thing easier on the budget.

Unfortunately, I have never been someone who off the shelf sizes fit. I am kicking myself now for not ordering this around Christmas when they had their old site working. I will probably just add both the $30 color change and the $50 dollar 501st fee with the same measurements filled in on both add ons. Hopefully that will make it a pretty close fit on arrival. I am not in a super hurry so I might wait a bit and see if a sale pops up in the next month or two. Thanks for the help!

I've not ordered from either the old or new site, hopefully someone will advise shortly. Do they have any contact us info for you to ask them directly? I do know that making sure they have as many measurements as possible is important, even then they can sometimes get it wrong. I believe from other posts, the collar is a common thing for them to get wrong and that you need to be specific in getting them to adjust it to be 501st approved, which thinking about it might be part of what the $50 option is about.

    Sorry I can't help more

Thanks for the help! I will be sure to give very specific instructions about getting the collar right.

  7. Hey everyone,

I have a question regarding cosplaysky's new website Cossky.com. I want to order the deluxe Imperial Officer uniform in white for my Grand Admiral build and their new website is confusing. When I click on to the $30 change color option it also has all the boxes to fill in for custom measurements. https://cossky.com/products/color-fabric-change-service-for-costume-orders

They also have a $50 add on called customization fee for 501st order that again has all the boxes for custom measurements. https://cossky.com/products/customization-fee-for-501st-order

I guess my main question for anyone who has bought from the new website is if I can just buy the color change option and request the uniform be made in white and fill in the custom measurements boxes and get a custom sized uniform or if I have to add the 501st customization fee to get the custom sized uniform. Any help and advice that anyone has would be much appreciated. Thanks

Prior to Yavin there were Grand Moff and Grand Admiral ranks, although Moff is more Political than Military it seems.

We know that Thrawn is MIA and, with the destruction of the Death Star, Tarkin is KIA.  There also is the possibility that most of the rest of the Joint Chiefs were still aboard the Station, save for Tagge.

Thereby, Tagge would in theory be the highest ranking officer of the Military.  So, to me, it doesn't seem a stretch for The Emperor to create a new "Grand-grade" rank to reflect his Army status as opposed to granting him the rank of Grand Admiral or the title Grand Moff.

Just a thought of course :-)

Your theory could very well be the truth. It seems most of what we knew of the Imperial High Command came from Legends sources and therefore is null and void. I am sure Disney will eventually come out with new material that will answer questions like this but if it is at the same pace as Legends it might be quite a few years before we have a definitive answer. Until then, we are floating in a sea of unknowns. If Tagge was the only joint chief left then it would make sense for him to be given a special title to denote his seniority and there is no doubt that the Emperor was quite fond of "Grand" titles.

  9. I actually feel that Thrawn: Alliances was the best book to come out since Disney ended the "Legends" storylines. I have no doubt that Thrawn: Treason will be a great addition to the new Star Wars Canon. Still trying to get over the "point defense ion cannons" from Tarkin to be honest. I do absolutely agree that Vanto is a great character.

  10. I would not say that the Empire was completely evil. There is no doubt that the leadership of the Empire was evil but overall I would say that the Empire was a force for good. On the flip side, I would not say that the rebellion was either completely good or evil. The regular men on the front lines of both sides of the conflict believed they were helping to bring about a better galaxy. The Republic was rife with corruption, piracy and myriad other crimes that the Senate ignored and the limited amount of republic peacekeepers couldn't handle. The Empire changed that and was cutting down on the crime syndicates that were rife during the republic. The average Imperial soldier signed up to bring order to a chaotic galaxy. Some probably signed up after seeing vids of rebel groups like Saw Guerrera blowing up dozens of civilians to kill one stormtrooper. Once again, I am not saying that the empire was wholly good but I would say that it was more good than bad. I would continue but I doubt anyone wants to read a five page essay on why I like the Empire. :-D
