    @tristanuk

Thanks for the review, I know a lot of things happened during that time.

As far as the boots go, I've got big feet (size 13 or 14 US) and finding something that looked correct and that fit me was difficult!

My helmet padding has since been rectified and the big pad in the back is now in the front.

My stirrups are stretching as I severely underestimated the elasticity of my material when I sewed them on.  I'll shorten them and retake photos once my photographer is back into town.

    Hi Eric,

I have finally given your costume a thorough review. I apologise for the length of time it has taken me, and I do thank you for your patience.

Your costume is indeed of a high level.
Your flight-suit cogs are vinyl and proportionate and placed correctly.
The flight-suit pockets are all in the correct places. There is a little bunching at the top of the boots which could be made to look better by either adding stirrups, or tucking in your trousers a little more.
Your boots are not the genuine knobelbechers, but they do certainly look "jack boot" style, and added top adjustment strap is adequately replicated.
Your helmet does look to be in the right dimensions and proportions, but like has been mentioned earlier, the helmet is pressed too close to your forehead.
This is an easy fix by adjusting the padding in the helmet.  Whilst doing this, also try and get the flare to be a little more horizontal, like in the reference screen capture.
Your gloves, belt, bucket and greeblie are all accurate.
Your chosen ANH option of beltboxes, compad and two code cylinders also look to be of the high standard required.

To summarise, please adjust the padding in your helmet, and tuck in your trousers a little more. If you could take some more photos I will review them and let you know quicker than this response took.

    Many thanks for your efforts.

    -Tristan

    Hello Eric,

Thank you for your submission. I do not normally handle Imperial Crewmen and Navy Troopers. Tristian does. I have notified him of these pending submissions, but between work and Celebration (which he is very busy preparing trading cards for people for that convention), he is very busy right now. When he has time, he will try and look at this submission. We just kindly ask for your continued patience during this very busy time for us right now.

    Thank you again.

Me at the local Living History Show as an 1884 Colonel of the 3rd regiment, US Army Cavalry.  Full Dress.  Original glasses, belt buckle and many original parts on helmet.  May do a Major General next year.  Same boots as will go with my Imperial Crew, Gunner, TIE Pilot, etc.

My GML would insist on the 2 inch offset of the helmet on the forehead. Your helmet front is right along the forehead.

It looks like every outfit from CosplaySky is on here... just a lesser quality material.  Also, the belt that came with it is garbage.  But, for $65 and knowing she'll grow out of it in less than a year, it'll work!

    Hello fellow officers,

Several months ago, I sent a challenge to a fellow from the Spanish Garrison. If he dyed his beard of pink, I will let him to command the escort of Ambassador Droid R2-KT in the Spanish Garrison's Training Day.

Our Training Day was celebrated last wekend in Sevilla and... oh well, a pic is better than a thousand words...

He's ID-22967 and we will love to see our proud officer with ambassador droid R2-KT on IOC Facebook page if you find it appropiate. We fight against cancer!

You see the ANH INT's wearing DH-17's and E-11's.  The only blaster you see officers wearing in the Merr Sohn Power 5 and that particular officer wasn't wearing a holster at all.

He grabs a DH17 from the console - I don't believe he is wearing a holster on his belt.

Hey, if you're anything like me (which I REALLY hope you aren't), you have issues with your belt moving around and not staying where you want it.
It a moment of clarity, I thought of velcro. I put a piece of velcro (for fabric) on my belt and on my tunic and then just match them up and "whammo", my belt stays where I put it. I just centered the velcro on the seam that runs the circumference of the tunic and paired it up with the appropriate place on the belt. On the tunic I threw a few stitches in to just make sure it's secure. As for the belt, I just made sure that I got the "heavy duty" velcro to stick (it tends to get hot and a little sweaty here in Florida).
    Velcro on back of tunic:

    Velcro on front of tunic:

Velcro on front inside of belt (behind where the buckle mates with the belt):

    Velcro on back of belt:

Simple fix to an annoying problem. There might already be a thread on this, if so, feel free to move and re-file.
I haven't figured out how to fix the need to pull the tunic down, or as I like to call it, "the Piccard maneuver". I know he's from that SW knock off show, but it describes the action pretty well. Any ideas?
Feel free to PM if you have any questions. I am going to do this on my ISB as well as I use the same belt on that tunic.

    Continue...
    So in conclusion:
Here are the pros and cons I found for both the Leather Sheen and the Resolene:
    LEATHER SHEEN
    Pros:
    1. Easily applied
    2. No applicator required
    Cons:
    1. More expensive ($14.99)
    2. Doesn't stop all dye bleeding
    3. Doesn't waterproof as well
    RESOLENE
    Pros:
    1. Cheaper ($7.99)
    2. Waterproofs better
    3. Stops almost all dye bleeding
    Cons:
    1. Must purchase seperate applicator
    2. Harder to apply and more messy
In conclusion, Resolene seems to be the much better solution to seal leather belts. The finishes seemed to look the same after drying. Resolene waterproofs both the rough and smooth side better. The water droplets never seemed to absorb into the leather on either side and stayed pooled in a droplet. Unfortunatly the sample with the Leather Sheen absorbed the water almost immediately on the rough side. It also stopped almost all traces of dye bleeding after applied. There was still noticeable dye bleeding with the Leather Sheen. I will definatly be using the Resolene for any leather finishing or waterproofing needs.
*Special thanks to Kris for the Resolene suggestion*
I hope this will help anyone in anyway with similar questions or needs. Let me know if you have any questions.
    Matt

well that is nonsense, most of the comics and other non fan art has both configurations, the CRL should be amended to reflect that.

You're pretty knowledgeable, so I can see why they would think that!

Is it just R1 that they used the bigger pushbutton ranks or did they do it in Solo too?  Technically, even the OT rank bars wouldn't be correct replicating a R1 officer since their rank tiles were sized differently.  Maybe that's that nuance stuff you talked about ignoring?

This IN from ANH is wearing an empty holster on his left side. He is not the only one. The guards in the detention block also wear their holster on the left side. They are the exception to the rule. Most INs in ANH wore the holster for their DH-17 on the right side.

For rank bars, it looks like Disney is going with the larger ones for all "New Canon" GCW movies.  Near as I can tell, rank bars are the same size in R1/SOLO.  They look a lot more impactful in my opinion.

Outside of the 451 black officers in ANH, you don't see any other black uniformed officers wearing code cylinders or rank bars at all.  Most of the ones depicted (especially in ROTJ) are considered Non commissioned officers and wouldn't have commissioned officer rank or code cylinders anyways.

While I definitely agree that it is likely an expanded universe concept (even Anovos depicts a black uniform with a rank bar on their site), I think it's the logical compromise of using the standard line officer tunic in black (which seems easier to get, patterns more readily available, ease in making, etc.)  Also adds a bit more uniformity since black is an easier color to match to the films while I've looked at photo of garrisons with 3 shades of olive uniforms in it.

While some people in the legion may recognize immediately the difference between a 451 jacket and a standard line officer tunic, a majority cannot (even legion members.)  People with the black staff officer uniforms are also regularly seen wearing ANH ranks.

I think its important to mention that while rank barks/cylinders would be acceptable for legion membership, for L2/L3, would it technically be incorrect to be wearing those items (since you can't replicate an on-screen officer?)
