I would recommend custom- it gets into real messy territory if you have to shorten significantly, because all the pockets have to be adjusted, and unless you're a tailor, it's dang near impossible.  It will be worth it for a perfect fit, though!

Yeah. I know it's pricier but i think in the long run I would save just by having someone making it to my exact measurements with a little bit of wiggly room.

Another custom option is Claudio- he's on these boards.  My black (Crewman, TIE Reserve) flightsuit is from him, and compared to my orange Wampa, it's a thicker, better quality material, and obviously custom-fitted so it's very nice, whereas the Wampa is a bit baggy in places and snugger in others.  Not to say I don't like my Wampa, it's perfect for my future OT and Blue Squadron X-Wings and Willrow, but for the Crewman and TIE, I wanted that nice, tailored look.

That makes sense. I will look into him. Thank you.

If you're "standard" or "normal" sized (ie, not extremely tall, short, etc.), then Wampa Wear is a good choice.  I have a custom suit for my Crewman/TI-Reserve/TIE Pilot from Claudio (on here), because I'm 5'11'' and a woman, and not a size 0- I'm just hard to fit.  I have an orange one for Willow/eventual X-Wing Pilot from Wampa, and while it fits, it's just not as clean looking.  So it's really what you're after, and what will fit you best.  I wanted a tailored look for my IOC stuff, because I prefer that look, but the X-Wing and Willrow?  Didn't matter to me. (Quite honestly the X-Wing pilots are baggier and not quite as fitted looking anyway, so it's a bit more accurate anyway).

I'm not a fan of CosplaySky for jumpsuits- they're ok, but for the money, I'd go somewhere else.  Their officers, always do custom- so worth it, are good, however.  I have a Staff/Warrant currently and a Line on order.

The problem is that I'm on the shorter side and I would have to do a lot of customization to even the XXS flightsuit from Wampawear.

Depending on your maker, here's a rough listing of need-to-know measurements for custom orders:

    Height

    Weight

    Shoulder to floor

    Shoulder width

    Shoulder to waist (front)

    Shoulder to waist (back)

    Arm length

    Chest/bust (at widest part)

    Waist to floor

    Waist

    Hips

    Thigh circumference

    Knee circumference

    Calf circumference

    Bicep circumference

    Cuff circumference

    Neck

    Inseam

Some vendors will have an accompanying diagram detailing what they're talking about for each measurement (helpful for the non-obvious ones like "hips").  As said above, the more measurements the better for a truly custom fit.  Knowing your height/weight/chest or bust/waist/hips and inseam are super helpful in general for sizing when looking at basic size charts for off-the-shelf items.

Thank you for an idea of exact measurements people look for.

It might depend on who you're commissioning to sew it, but you could use the same basic measuring chart that can be found doing an online search. Some charts are more involved than others, but in the case of a custom tailored suit, more measurements are better.

    Thank you for the clarification.

If you're interested in building a Scan Crew, I have an Anovos grey flightsuit in hand and ready to ship.  It's a Large.  For reference I am 5'10" and 185 pounds, athletic build and I had to go with a Medium as the Large was a bit too roomy up top. PM me if you're interested; I have it for sale on the Legion boards and Ebay.

As for all of the previous posts, the assessments are spot on.

Unfortunately I'm a rather small person; 5' 2''; when I'm not slouching. But thank you so much for the offer.

What kman said is pretty bang on. I have a WampaWear flightsuit personally. I love it. Its great. And its affordable. But they're almost always sold out, and when they are back in stock, they sell out within hours (literally).

CosplaySky is fine, but you will need to do some minor alterations when you get it to make it approvable. I think you need to move the pockets around so that it matches the CRL. CosplaySky, though, is hit or miss.

Another option is to make one yourself. Its somewhat challenging, but doable if you have the sewing skills.

    Thank you. This really helps.

Personally, I think I like Anovos the best.  Unfortunately, they're sold out and I doubt they'll be getting more in.

Wampa Wear is the usual go-to.  They sell out very fast, though, and go months between new shipments.  They might be your best bet, in terms of reasonable price and great quality, but there will be a bit of a wait.

There are cheaper places (like CosplaySky) where you roll the dice on whether they're constructed right (sometimes yes, others, no), and there are more expensive custom options like Pilot Bay, where you pay a premium and have a long wait to receive it (over 6 months, last I heard), but it's custom made for you and as close to perfect as it gets.

I believe Imperial Boots is selling them now, but I don't have a lot of feedback on quality.  They haven't been making them long.

Thank you so much for your input.
