  1. Hey fellow Officers,

As most of us might have seen, finally the ordinary Army Troopers, the "Boots on the ground" have appeared on screen! Long overdue, as we have seen the Elite - Stormtroopers and the specialised Mudtroopers, but not yet the ordinary "Grunts". I am interested in making this Costume and would like to start a discussion here.

As the latest episode of "Andor" is just a less than a week old i will not yet post screenshots, i will wait until the end of next week. No Spoilers...

What we can do ist start discussing materials and pattern of the uniform. Material seems to be a standard heavy fabric, but NOT the Ripstop material used in most "of the shelve" BDUs. More like Moleskin, a kind of heavy cotton.

Tunic pattern seems to be similar to the standard BDU, but with some additional seams on the back and pockets on the upper arm. Pants also BDU-style, but without the Cargo Pockets. Okay, hard to explain without pics, i will add them in a few days to avoid spoilers.

Boots are the same Jack Boots (Knobelbecher) used in SOO many other costumes. Hat is a standard Officers Cap. Belt also standard Officer Belt.

Short black leather gloves are worn.

In some frames 1 or 2 black "Rankbands" are worn on the left shoulder. The Soldier with two bands is adressed as "Corporal", so i assume one band is a "Private 1st Class"

What do you think, can we start a new costume from here?

  2. I did the Cadet a few weeks ago for a friend and got her approved (ID-80688)! Now she is the first Cadet in Germany! We used this 3D-Files from Etsy:

This Helmet has the up- and down moving Faceplate. It is rather small, i would recommend to scale it up by some percent, but it turns out quite nicely. 3D Print, so the Putty- and Sandjob is a Pain in the A***, but it is definately worth the Effort!

  3. A few weeks ago i made an Imperial Cadet for a Friend of mine, and she got approved! I based the Soft Parts on this pattern (a Ladies Yoga dress):

and added the Piping. Fabric is "Bistretch-Gabardine" in White, Light Grey and Dark Grey. The Helmet was 3D-Printed, using a file i bought on Etsy:

Jackboots from Ebay, Rankbar selfmade (just a piece of Aluminum and a magnet)

    Hope this helps

  4. Are there any Pictures of the Jackets back side available? Princess Seams or not? If yes, curved or straight in any way, Seams on the back side of the Arms as on the old Imperial Uniforms, Maybe the same Y-shaped red Design as on the Front?

I cant wait to start with this Uniform!
