I did the Cadet a few weeks ago for a friend and got her approved (ID-80688)! Now she is the first Cadet in Germany! We used this 3D-Files from Etsy:

This Helmet has the up- and down moving Faceplate. It is rather small, i would recommend to scale it up by some percent, but it turns out quite nicely. 3D Print, so the Putty- and Sandjob is a Pain in the A***, but it is definately worth the Effort!

Nice, and thanks for the tip on size! Do you have any pictures of it in both positions?

  2. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew of someone that had created a working cadet helmet like the ones in the show. Basically, one that opens and closes to reveal your face underneath. I did some searching on the forum, and haven't found anything yet, but admittedly there's a lot here. I've reached out to Fiernock Base Designs, which seems to be the go-to on these helmets, and they're still making them, which is a win. I think I have a good idea on the opening and closing mechanism, but the part I think will be the hardest is having enough space to move the faceplate all the way up into the dome, which may require something more custom.

Just curious if anyone has cracked the code on this before. Thanks for any insight you may have!
