  1. For what it's worth, most tailors leave at least some extra fabric when making alterations. My Cosplay Sky jodphurs were similarly baggy so I took them in and left the original seam in place.

The marker cap is pointing to the seam I added, and you can see the original serged seam from the factory, and yes-its a lot of fabric. I took out 5.5 inches at the ankles, but it's invisible when I'm wearing it. Assuming there's fabric to work with, you may be able to use a seam ripper to open a few seams and restore room to the hips and thighs. Any seamstress or tailor should have no trouble.

If there's still a length issue and you want an economical option I would recommend military boot blousing straps--basically 1.5 inch elastic straps with Velcro on the ends that wrap around your calves to hold pants in place. Here's a civilian style that's more adjustable:

When you're ready to kit up, wrap the blousing strap around your leg below your calf. Put on your jodhpurs but leave them unbuttoned and low around your hips--this step is key to get the legs taut. You can do a military tuck on your trouser leg by pulling so the excess is tucked against the inside of your leg, then tuck them under the strap. Once the blousing straps are in place, pull your pants to your hips and button as usual. The pant legs should be taught and stay in place.

Best of luck with whatever you choose.

There are contradictions in the films wherein officers with identical Rank Plaques are given different configurations of code cylinders. The best recommended method is to choose a particular officer that appears on screen who has the rank bar you wish to copy, and then copy their code cylinder arrangement as well.

For example Piett wears one code cylinder when he is a captain (Three Red over three Blue). When he is an admiral (Six Red over Six Blue) he wears three code cylinders.

Also keep in mind that code cylinders which have brass coloured clips were used in the original trilogy, and code cylinders which have silver coloured clips were used in the anthology movies Solo and Rogue One. So, ideally your Rank bar, code cylinder color and the presence or absence of the notch in your hat's disk should all conform either to the Original trilogy style, or to the anthology movie style.

@jauntyharrison Thank you for the clarification on code cylinder clip colors! Current language of "correct clip" in the CRL is very vague. I searched many photos to see what I thought were silver clips used for Mandalorian. This post basically confirmed it for me. Can you clarify on the Imperial disc notch vs no notch? I've been unable to spot the top of the disc in Mandalorian screen shots.

  3. Great shots of Moff Gideon. I know she's not mentioned in your post, but I've not been able to tell whether the female comms officer has jodhpurs or trousers/slacks. I'd assume jodhpurs since it's an olive uniform, but appreciate if anyone has managed to capture a shot for verification.
